i said a favorites list would be nice. poop !
-
i always thought they should make choppers invuln to team damage from when the engine is first started to when it leaves the ground, would solve alot of problems.
-
wow, saved me a job. nice one.

ROFL, I am that good. I seriously doubt you will even know where the shot came from! Dude, an AK doesn't have that range? WTF... Kid, you don't know anything about sniping, why are you in this topic AT ALL? Not exactly. What you should say is that YOU don't know how to do. You are the one who doesn't know how the game works by the crap you talk. Go play with your dolls now, OK, leave the sniping thing to others who actually SNIPE! i was going to point out some things, but based upon the replys to the other poster, i decided its not worth it.

they did the exact same thing in bf2. least in arma the community have a bit of power to put a stop to this type of idiocy.
-
You really are new to this aren't you? as previous people have said, adjustable sights would be nice, but simulating all the things that go into real world sniping would make it pointless in the game. while your busy immersed in the world of ballistics, youll get killed. edit: btw, maybe if shooting AI all day long in guard towers is your thing this would be ok, but try sighting and hitting a player running at that sort of range with all these things added in. and hell, maybe your just *that good*, but while your that good shooting at me while im dodgying about, one of my friends will come blast you instead ;-/

what i think would be funny is when this is implemented, and youve got your spotter there, you've judged the wind, you've allowed for range, you slowly aim, wait for the perfect moment.... hold your breath..... and get nailed in the face by an AK from 600 meters. it's just a game. ;-/ people arn't deer in arma, and youll get spanked trying to pull this off on a server.
-
maybe if you could integrate the challenge's password reply automatically it'd work. -- youd need the caller to reach for his radio and the other guy to reply without pressing anything. reasons are: 1) its usually too far to shout, 2) noone would bother replying, esp if they dont know its aimed at them 3) er...it'd suck otherwise.

goto your settings and hit the tracking one so you can see what the trackir sees. is it a clear image of your points, or is there extra crap / red or green patches ?
-
are you running 1.05 ? -- the map had a fix to make it open alot quicker. maybe this is your problem ?
-
tbh sniping in arma isnt easy, not becuase the game makes it hard, but because the players dont play like real people. its pretty hard to hit people running at 800 meters in arma. i think adding more things to make it harder would just make it pointless. its about right at the moment, if you dont want to get sniped, stay in cover or keep moving edit: btw "No, this would be too realistic for ArmA" is a loaded answer, arma is meant to be a simulator so your directing voters to one option. you evil man !

select them (same way you change to burst fire and etc, using firemode key) - then select "next" bind and then return.

hmm, fixed ! :-) needed to put the entire url on the profile (http://example.com/squad.xml) not just the domain like in the example given on the wiki.

sorry for the dodgy title, i didnt know what else to call it. Basically this is my problem. Trackir is working fine when im running about, or piloting a jet, or driving a humvee. right ? ... ok. now when i get on a ladder, or sit in the back of a humvee, or chopper etc, my trackir snaps to the left of it's x axis, so im looking over my left shoulder when climbing the ladder for instance. it works fine again once i exit the chopper or get off the ladder, and trackir still works when im on the ladder -- its just i have to look about 75% to the right to get my soldier to look forward. does this happen to anyone else ? anyone know how to fix it ? its been driving me nuts. - Si
-
fixed !! (yay) the problem was actually a bit more complicated than i thought. i use a nosromo hand controller and a joystick at the same time in armed assault (well, one for flying obviously) (if anyone says armed assault cant do two controllers, their wrong. Just unplug the nostromo and plug it in after the game starts, anyhow).... i played a min ago to fraps this and nothing happened, due to me rushing into the house sitting down and starting armed assault without the joystick which i normally never do, and the problem went away. turns out the joystick had a double bind, not trackIR, which caused the guy to look left. i dont know why it only affected my man when on ladders and such, but when i recalibrated my joystick the problem vanished so i had a clue to look for. Removed the second bind now and it works a treat. thanks all happy camper again. spilt loads of beer trying to look to the right 80 degrees while climbing long towers.
-
seeing what this did to other games, im highly against it.
-
yeah they show up red if their double bound. so im pretty sure. - also im using trackIR with just X and Y axis in ArmA, so i disabled the others in the profile editer of trackir, and this happens both when using the track clip pro and the hat (using clip pro and vector mode, respectively). its driving me potty ;p tempted to reset all my binds and do em again, but that'd take ages due to arma's poor bind interface. edit: typo
-
ill download fraps and upload a video of it tonight. i was thinking maybe i've double bound something, but i checked and i havnt.
-
been on a server where other people had it working and i cant even get it working there. wtf ?!! its on the root of my website, and ive put that site into the squad url box. -- ive edited the xml (with no reserved letters) and uploaded it and the other files needed. can *anyone* that has this working show me their xml page ? - remove the id's if you want, whatever.
-
what gfx settings are you on ? btw i have the same system as you (but 2gig ram) - play with everything on low but at 1440*900 res. never been an issue to be honest.

the current changelog is on the bug tracker, and it'll be released when its done. see here for the constantly updated log http://bugs.armed-assault.net/changelog_page.php edit: and for what it's worth, a month is about squatt in software coding, when you consider bug reporting, identifying, locating, fixing, testing and the (almost certain) problems on the way.
-
if someone does add this, can you make sure the max rope length is enough so yuo can insert into forests, if needed.
-
yeah if anyone else gets thsi working can you maybe pm me and ill give you my msn or something, im fairly sure the xml file is fine, but every server i tried didnt oad any of the info, not just the logo.
