  1. Didn't say you can't speak and don't mind negative opinions...just meant to point out that if a teammate gets shot, the rest of the team tends to shoot back and uh, I do play a lot of coop online and have yet to notice that the AI is overly aware. Sure, I've had my times when I'm sitting behind a bush and get shot but I do the same thing when i spot someone hiding behind a bush or one of my teammates tells me theres enemy inf hiding in a particular spot...I'll spray the area and get lucky. I just thought it was funny that you bothered to complain about something that tends to realistically happen anyway...but it is a game and you are meant to enjoy it so...complain away :-)
  2. So what you're saying is...it would be better for the AI in the area that probably would have heard the gunshot to NOT respond to the gunshot? And then on the off chance that ONE of them knew exactly where the gunshot came from that he NOT tell his comrades to shoot at the same spot? I just want to be clear...

    Chicago LAN Party

Hello, I'm interested in starting a ARMA 1/2 specific lan party in the Chicagoland area or joining an existing one if there are any. I've seen plenty of LAN parties in chicago but they usually end up playing Quake or Call of Duty...I much rather play Armed Assault in an organized manner, in a well connected environment (LAN) with a more mature crowd (21+). Please respond if interested or if you know of any existing ARMA specific LAN parties in the Chicagoland area. Thanks, Sean

    official complaint to BIS

Yes, BIS will continue to improve AA as they did with OFP but I think the disappointment that most of us are experiencing is that we have a potentially fantastic product in hand but are experiencing problems that should definitely be resolved before a "gold" release. Like you've said, this is more of a "beta".

    official complaint to BIS

The fact however remains that there are serious issues with Armed Assault that should not be played down. If the product was created in such a short period of time, perhaps they should have held it longer before releasing it. If they have created this game in such a short span, then it's a great accomplishment but it's still not ready for mass consumption.

    official complaint to BIS

I played OFP in the beginning and stopped almost a year and a half ago because of the complications involved in finding a satisfying multiplayer experience. This issue has been corrected but other's have been created in the space left behind. I have not purchased the game but rather my friend has and after playing the game for only 20 minutes, I can very easily say that I am disappointed. Operation Flashpoint was and continues to be a great game. Unfortunately, when I played Armed Assault, I felt like I had taken a step back and not forward. I definitely noticed the graphical update but I believe that not all of us played Operation Flashpoint or waited for Armed Assault for incredible graphics. They help, yes, but the gameplay was what drew the fans and helped to foster this community. Unfortunately, my experience on a dual core system with an expensive video card was plagued by bugs and crashes. In my twenty minutes of gameplay, the game itself crashed on me twice. Other members of this board have been able to play the game without running into problems but I'm reading more and more posts with other similar issues. The problem, as I see it, with Armed Assault is that the rewarding experience of actually enjoying the game is kept hidden behind a lackluster unintuitive interface and an array of very serious bugs. The key is to make the game easier to use so that players might actually enjoy the gameplay. Bohemia has created a fantastic game but they've made it difficult to realize that. They may want to think about postponing whatever releases they have pending so that they may actually correct the issues they already have. The hardcore fans will find a way to get a copy and will be patient enough to wait for the patches. I just want to make sure they don't push away possible fans because of these correctable issues...issues that should have been caught prior to release. I've waited patiently for the flashpoint follow up and simply want to see this community grow and the best way to make that happen is to make the game easy to use and not full of deal breaking bugs. Muzzle flashes and minor performance issues are not serious, they're irritating but gamers would play regardless. Crashes, looping sounds, incorrect sounds and a horrible interface are deal breakers and must be fixed so that we and eventually, new users, can enjoy the game.
