    ^What he said. ^ But come on its a FUCKING GAME! Basically what he(Vit) is sayig by using "YOUR" parts (freeware, sorry but reallity is a fucker) is that, that part/texture is better than what he could do himself and he knows it, and doesnt want to waste time make a LITTLE fucking texture for a fan or what ever. OK so he is arrogant in regards to asking permission and or creditting people, but i seem to recall other mods doing the same thing to some extent and being caught, but yet we still use their great work. They, like Vit, do credit when it is brought up(i do agree that he does need to credit properly where due). Now i know that he is lazy with writing thanks but ummm guys by what you are saying you guys needs to credit all of the objects that you make cause you got you idea/texture format from someone's work yet you copy it into your own work? put it down claim it as you own? I dont mean any disrespect to anyone but come on its not like he stole the WHOLE model+textures. Guys i can understand how much work goes into all your addons, the community loves them all and respect the lot of you, but Vit is releasing addons people are asking for quickly, with some decent stuff coming out of it. Come on this happened not to long ago with someone using two fucking needles for dials on a dashboard and the mod who made them screamed murder over a needle? btw that mod cant really talk either but shit another can of worms we dont need. This is pointless because someone somewhere will do the exact samething. If YOU dont like it dont use it or support it. I always admired this community for its freindly atmosphere, but come on take a step back a get a bit of perspective. Take a deep breath. It is very simple in the end. Vit you fucked up in the first place by not creditting properly or get permission. About asking for permissions? how can we verify he didnt ask and get no reply? As i said before a thread in AM&D possibly where everyone can ask for permissions? Community spirit. It did start out just scalding him which was deserved but full on attacks are not warrented or justified! Fighting over small insignificant textures/models destroys this great community. This is carzy and it would be sad to see anyone leave ofp cause of this. Vit get someone with a better understanding of english( no offence, not native tounge? ) to help get permissions/ writing of readme? that might help us all in the future avoid this bullshit. Sorry way OT nice helos!

    Ok please dont take offence VIT, i like your work and enjoy your addons, but open source license's are usually the extra shit at the end of the readme. Most people usually say if you use it credit us but go for it, some say ask first, few say NO without 100% OK by the model maker. Having said that Vit has tried to credit people in an odd way. I think lack of understanding of english may have a small part in this aswell. But Vit you also have to stop being so naive! Noone to begin with was flaming you merely trying to point out an issue they have with useing their work without asking. How long does someone wait though? I dont know if he did try or just saying so but if no one replied then what? no use? why try to re-invent the wheel when someone has the perfect one? Maybe there should be a thread made on AM&D? board where people can post request to use parts/models/textures from other people/mods so everyone can see they tried and after a decent amount of time release it(if you couldnt do better yourself) with credits? Why make an addon for everyone to turn around and say oh thats nice but i like the look of the inside of that one better? Most mods are gods around here now. DKM or Footmunch for example is so good, most people do nothing but praise. If some one uses something is it because they know its the best. At this stage why release some thing that doesnt compare to the standard now? And why dont mods help each other or idividuals making stuff people want but none of the big mods have time to make? Yes you put serious time into these and we all appreciate it, but on the flip side some has something else really good/usefull/wanted and is having trouble making/texuting something(hopefull minor) then how can borrowing a perfectly working/looking/usable one hurt? You never know they may be working on something you want but counldnt make yet! Remember just a game(so i keep getting told:p ) Just my 2 cents PS yeah they sound like my nagging G/F aswell

    Couple of new addons

    great work! The F-15 handles well and look amazing! Tu-22 is looking good aswell. I did have trouble seeing anything on radar.  Im sure they have awesome Air-Sea/Ground radars? Did manage to lock some thing up when i flew over it but it took forever to turn one of these bad boys, but well worth the effort.   These things also have a powerful afterburner with a lot of range if im not mistaken, i noticed there was no feature for this, possibly for next release? Amraams seem to be useless against these things but Aim-9 work a treat every time. I've tried 24 missiles(amraams) so far with 0% hit ratio   Aim-9 100%  Not sure if bug or just my imagination. Keep up the great work and now i might go give these things a real workout  PS tail gunner on an plane thats works. Counldnt figure why my amour on my F-15 was dropping till i turned the tracers in DXDLL on and paid a bit of attention to detail....... oh shit, fucking planes shooting me, wingman bailed coz i told him not to shoot while i checked these things out  Might we see other aircraft incorperate this feature? AC-130  Â

    No adds to much wieght among other problems, if one got ripped in half during combat it would be easier to change tracks on a tank/apc than change a solid rubber tire that size Yes have this problem with crazy AI. Also see LAVs float on the ground? @FischKopp is there any plan to make LAV-M CoC- UA compatible or any other sort of system? BTW these are great.

    For DX9 goto microsoft website. But bascically DX9 is a new ms standard for how to code programs to create all those cool things you see in games. In the old days you had a choice (glide/ DX, thats a different can of worms ) but now DX has won. DX9 adds new and improved performance, new pixel and vertex shaders, more freindly for developors to use(not sure, dont do this) and many more features. What does all this bs mean? Well umm maybe start at www.tomshardware.com and read some of the articles there as its way to big and complicated to even start here. What will this mean for our beloved game?? Well have a look at the pics released so far, some of them you can see improvement. What DX9 features are included is hard to say with only a picute, so what ever we say is gossip. No one but BIS can tell us for sure what they have included and until then we will have to wait.

    time to standardise?

    Good points here. Yes people will make their own stuff their own way. However i think most people here are in the frame of mind that the more realistic the better. Standardisation should occur for ArmA now! No we cant stop people from creating what they want, how they want it, and we shouldnt try to either!!!! I think the point is to get all the mods that are trying to make a realistic addons to adhere to a common standard. Things like GI Joe or StarGate are fun mods with little to no real world values, so these things can do what ever they want. Why would that cause fustration? It does need to happen before we get to where we are now with OFP. Great game, awesome addons but too may things are not compatable with each other . Oh well just my 2 cents, hopefully BIS/Community sort this out. Cant wait for this awesome game to be released. Patience Grasshoppers! Good things come to those who wait!

    Will it have internal cargo for jeeps and things? Phil Commando has a good cargo script on his USS Tawara/ LCAC which allows APC/Tanks and troops to be locked into place on the moveing vehicle. Just a thought. Good Luck and I am looking forward to this addon and its many uses!

    Also cause its um......an ofp remake perhaps? @ xnodunitx Smart Ass  Run some tests and take some screenshots to compare and use BIS models and no 3rd part addons ie ecp/ flashfx as they will improve the look. I just did a quick mission on desert island 1 M1A1 V 1 T-72, i took a couple of screenshots of dead T72 from roughly the same angle and distance( i hope) and I CAN see an improvement. How much? Not sure yet. Would need to see video(hint) of new damage effects, to be able to do a proper conclusion. however it  looks like some of the damage system has been improved on some. To what extent we'll have to wait and see, but it does look better. @BergHoff  I hope that your list is spot on! However i am doubtful on a couple of things on the list.

    what do you mean? just moving radar? or do you mean FULL working radar ie a SAM radar has spinning radar and emmits detectable radar emissions? Coz if its just the first one as xnodunitx said already possible(however better if it was put into the core) If its the second one then you might have to wait for game2 and even then it might not happen. The second question is a case of wait and see. It is already implimented to some extent(more so by mods), but the chance to improve on it hopefully has been jumped at! Even if the standard models dont incorperate this then at least community addons/BIS expansion packs might be able to, which would help modmakers WHEN Game2 (ArmA2) come out. PS Official answer is; WAIT AND SEE, info will be released soon

    Yes I think they will leave some goodies till game 2 but why would you leave something out that is already incorperated into the previous game? If anything is left till game2 i think it would be multi gunner(check latest screens, new M1 without commander or loaders MGs) but things like dynamic destruction(already done? wip? for VBS1) would be included. The movies on this thread are what I'm talking about. Why leave these feature out now, only to impliment them a couple of months down the track with the use of scripts and patches when they could just hard code it in? Why not optermize them with the engine? Why add to development costs in the future when it could be implimented right now? For now all we can do is pray and wait. Reality is, I'm not not to phazed, I will buy it just to support BIS/BIA for their future project(s). PS @colossus I consider Game2 a "goodie" all to itself, as we will have seen nothing like it before or for a long time after it comes out!

    New VBS1 videos

    Guys the info is already out there. Because XBox has such low specs BIS had to opitmize its core code for it to even boot properly on XBox. This means that most if not all of it has to be re-written. BIS have already said that ArmA is being made with lessons learnt from Ofp Xbox and VBS1. Why wouldn't we see some new things in ArmA then? There is an interview with BIS that says that there are requests made to BIS/BIA that come from both gaming community and the Armed Forces requesting the same thing, ie multi-gunner, moving around in vehicles, DDS etc. Now BIS have an oppertunity to incorperate alot of these into th core, instead of using scripts and updates, which can cause conflicts. Alot of people saying its in VBS1 but it wont come to ArmA, why? If ArmA is an optermized Ofp1/VBS1 engine then it would be the logical step to include everything into the core while they have a chance. If ArmA is so much more stable and runs better than Ofp1/Vbs1 why wouldn't BIA use ArmA engine as its next big upgrade to VBS? Just my 2 cents

    FischKopp, PhilCommando released a Tarawa and a LCAC both with working cargo scripts. VERY COOL. Why not ask to use those scripts or see if he can help?
