  1. Nice work on this. One suggestion/request: Would it be possible to remove the relevant actions and destination markers when the relevant team is eliminated? Other wise very good.  I finally killed the bugger! (only me left alive though, as the RO, armed with an M249! I think you’ve cracked it. In the add on version you could have the CO able to issue orders only when some one in his group and the subordinate group are actually carrying a radio backpack...!

    If they do that, then 1.5 will be better than 2 and seeing as there are already such clear definitions and screen shots for the 'real' sequal, and the continual setbacks AND the fact that there is no publisher yet (youd of thought some one would have snapped it up by now...) leads me to beleive that ArmA may never ever come to fruition due to the fact that it has already been surpased with the next project. I think BI should abort ArmA and focus all atention on the other other sequel, other wise in four years time, we, and all the new ofp players, will be on line wishing for flashpoint 2 to be released..... These delays are extreamly bad for moral you know?

    Everyone has a right to hope for different things - but personally I hope those items are a low priority for BIS. I can think of a hundred changes which would improve realistic gameplay! I doubt any OFP player wants Arma to have fantastic effects and graphics at the expense of turning Arma into another arcade shooter like CoD, BF2 and Rainbow Six 4. Correct. But why can't it do both? Also: what the hell is Dynamic Fingure!?!?!

    Thanks. I think it'll be fun...yet strangly dull at the same time (due to the length of time taken to clear one town let alone the whole island) Have to do something like: when the player takes the base on the south half of island he/she gains a few T80s Or a few invincable black Op US troops that instantly clear a town (<---I like that one. I'll try to include it! Also....I have no idea how to do it yet!!! I'm currently reading through all the scripts in CCE and CTI and intend to come up with some kind of hybrid of the two....Watch this space

    I hope the box contains a pull out instruction card like OFP did. (i still have that by the way! ) I hope its on DVD I hope they don't release a 'gold' or 'collectors' edition two months after initial release crammed with everything they should have put onto the first DVD! I hope they include some of the better community add ons and or missions to show how to convert them to ArmA. I'd also like to see some box art, so that i know what i'm looking for in the shops when i have to fight my way past all those snot nosed kids and x-box fans that can hardly string a sentence together, in order to buy the only game i've been waiting for since Operation:Flashpoint Resistance came out all those many moons ago!! I'd also like to see some old faces in the new campaign, such as Armstrong and Blake etc. (i wonder what era the new campaign will be...? Will it be a follow up from CWC...? ) Come on, surely the game is ready for a playable demo on the front of pc Gamer or something...! I WANNA' PLAY!!!

    I'm planning an FIA single player campaign/mission.  I was planning it to be set against the 1985/RedHammer campaign, with tie-ins to them(starting with the Russian invasion, the US retreat, the 'capture' of Armstrong, etc.)  So yes I do have some ideas.  Here is how i want it to work: You start off at the air field, the russians attack.  You will loose this fight (but have to stay alive due to no respawn points) and loose all your men.  You will then have to retreat to the Castle and gain your first save point.  Meanwhile Russian forces push south, force the US off the island and ultimatly take all towns.  Now you start the guerrilla war as so; Each town will be ocupied by Russian troops. Due to your lack of weapons etc, you must perform attacks on the town in order to lower theyre 'moral'.  To do this you must lower the enemy 'supplies'  this will result in a supply convoy being sent to the town. Kill the covoy, gather weapons, vehicles. Keep this up untill 'moral' breaks and the enemy pulls out of town. You are then free to enter the town and; Aquire any weapons left behind. Perform a 'recruitment drive'. (this will give you extra troops/squads) You will also gain a save point. The ultimate objective is to gain enough points to progres the plot, up to the US invasion ("Return to Eden")...and take back all towns from the Rusians. What do 'ya think?
  11. Tried it. Â Like it. Â It plays well, allthough i got my as kicked. Â Badley Heres an idea; Why not have the atacking force try and capture the enemy CO (by getting close to him, this could then play a little cut scene or something...)? Also you could have a small band of resistance fighters actually try to kill the CO of the defending side (and maybe the attacking force too?) Â Might add more urgency to the mission as well as the 30min issue.... Just an idea though.

    If it isn't here, you might want to add it ! Yeah, it's there allright, and it normally works too. Not sure about this at all. ... Basically I think it is something to do with deleting destroyed vehicles that have been named. I'm not sure about how to fix it though. Perhaps using setdammage 0 would be better than spawning a new one each time. ...set dammage 0 might work for the chopper, but as far as i know it confuses the AI in that the men have been dead once. Â It may be worth deleting the men, spawning new ones at sea then moving them into the chopper? Or have a trigger that repeatedly checks when the men are dead then executes a 'pilot' script to move the men into the sea (then try and delete them), spawn new pilots but incrament there name by one (pilot1_1, pilot1_2 etc), then put these new pilots into the old chopper and.....hmmm...never mind, forget that idea is rubbish. I'm not sure about the unasignvehicle command either, Â in work at the moment, have to check after.

    I had problems with the newest nvidia drivers. I caused the inside of all vehicles to flash! (also the ingram would flash too). I rolled back to older drivers and all was fine. As Placebo said, have you installed new drivers? Off topic - Sorry, what is -nomap? i understand -nosplash, but not no map

    ...that would be a hell of a game! So, if codemasters own the name Operation:flashpoint, could game2 be called simply "Flashpoint 2"? That would work, wouldn't it? I mean no one actually calls it Operation Flashpoint, do they? I would also like to see; -More than three opposing forces. I don't know have many times I’ve needed this when creating missions. Eg. Setting=BAS Tonal island. Plot=US troops, Tonal Government + TSF, Rebel forces and the Militia are fighting to eliminate all other forces. I thought you might be able to do it for a while by using the civians, but they side with the Resistance. Oh well. Never gonna happen i guess....or could it...?
  17. I have a small lan with three clients and a dedicated server, if you'd like some testing done (I'll try and get some done Friday..if theyre up for it, but I can test it my self.) Also can I recomend something? Instead of posting new releases, i think it might help if you edit the link in the first post and direct it to the new version. Or even links to all versions, but do it in the first post. Â I think it'll help keep every one on the same version.

    ...gone a bit quiet in here... I had a funny incodent the other day. There i was, fighting the "Nog Rebels", when one got in to my base and blew up the insertion chopper. Needless to say i shot him dead. When i next 'rested', to my surprise there were now two insertion choppers! Then, when i rested again, three insertion choppers!! Very odd. For some reason the killing of the first one dissabled the delete command...allthough having said that, how did the first chopper become alive agian? Very odd indeed. :0 I sugest making the insertion chopper captive true. Also I noticed that if you 'cheat' by teleporting your team when they are in a vehicle, the vehicle stays behind while you and the troops relocate. This is fine, but the men seem to get confused and think they are still in the vehicle and refuse to follow you or take any kind of order...

    I'd like to see some or all of the following; -Destructable buildings and vehicles that remain deconstructed from mission to mission in this all new campaign. -New units. Like artilery or how about soldiers with different builds...tall ones...short ones...musclie ones and fat ones. -Seasonal weather. Such as wintery conditions in the winter months and blazing sun (maybe even heat shimers) in the summer.... -NPC personalities. Remember 'Full Spectrum Warrior' or 'BIA' when your guys would be talking to each other? Or to have your team mates exclaiming when shots are fired close to them. General ambiant speach would be a nice touch, not via the radio, but in the game 'world'. -Animated rather than static animations for ready stance. You know the kind of thing; people shifting weight from foot to foot, or checking theire weapons (kind of like the animation for pasingers in vehicles...) -Quicker troop control. Kind of like the method used in BIA, simple right clicks to send guys places etc. By all means keep the current system for more intricate commands.... Failing that how about these:whi: ; -A playable demo.... -A estimated price. -An explination :- Will ArmA come with the old original campaigns, misions etc. or are they mearly 'compatible'? -If this is the case is ArmA an Uber expansion/upgrade? -When in the name of Dave Armstrong will it be comming out!!!

    My personal favorite would have to be BAS_BlackHawks. In my opinion, BAS put out one of the first great addons with this creation. Everything before it was just a reskin or just very glitchy. Also I'm looking for an M109A6 paladin...does any one know if any one has made one? I know DKM had a pretty good looking video once, but I can't find the actual addon...any Ideas where i can find it/one??

    I've tried it out now.  As it stands only the leader of the default group can accept mission.  This isnt all bad as it kind of simulates a chain of cammand.  I think if i remove or alter the line of code that limits this then any number of missions could run at any time.  Problems would arise with the Helo, but to hell with it for now.... Cool!  I guess I'd just make the truck the key object rather than the man  "not alive truck" etc etc
  24. Opps, missed that. I feel from reading it that the righter has no experience of playing the game! Â When he goes on about 'the first line of trees holding rather than folding as one'....this does not happen in OFP and is simply wrong. Â Admitedly the forests are crapy but rather than fall down they can bounce an oncoming T80 back about six feet and stand as solid as arock. Smaller trees will fall over and I know that Arma's forests are all going to consist of individual trees (so no T80 bouncing) Sorry, i don't want to make enemies here, but i didn't like this article. It does mention the inland lakes and hills with shadows. Â I hope the new campaign is worth it, becouse as it stands its just, as he says, a 'remake' Â Will all old add ons work? Will all old missions work? Are scripts still writen in the same way? This setdammage 1....will 'dammage' be spelt the same? If all the answers are yes, then could the new addons or missions be ported back to OFP? I'm quite scepticle about this 'new' project, but will be buying it! Flashpoint was great and helped me almost fail uni! Â I love it.
  25. ...have you guys read the whole article? And in it intended context? I have. It's all speculative. The writer is going about the OFP when he says about the convoy and the rest is just rumour. The article is less informative than anything you'll read on line. The game should be great but don't get worked up about this 'article.' I'll scan it in and send it to you if you like. Its all about 'the best games of 2006'...I love flashpoint and can't wait much longer for ArmA, I'm sorry to burst your bubble but it's based on no hard facts.
