    What would win?

Really what's the use of threads like this? The Berkut never saw frontline service, tbh neither has the F-22 really and it pbb never will. Who on earth does the USA intend to use their multi billion dollar baby against? Most agressor states have a airforce mainly composed of sheepherders and russia's mothball fleet. China? Well I dunno but I don't think the Raptor handles nuclear war that well and besides once it get's to that whats the use of anything anymore? North Korea? Their just suckers for attention. After a while they get a bit Ronery and start their nuclear program again, everybody get pissed, they get attention from the UN, they stop their nuclear program again. Iran? I don't think their airforce will standup to the current USAF fighters very well so no use for a fighter that cost more then most modern navy ships. India? Great airforce on paper but I wonder how well their training and Electronic Warfare systems are. And again I don't think thier a threat that can be overcome by the current USAF and USN. Somehow the F-22 seems like a old lady buying Murcilago to go to the cornershop once a week.
  2. First Cessna 172 I ever touched that was not atleast 5 years older then me! (and that pbb says more about the planes I get to fly in NW europe then about my age ) Very cool pin Tovarish! "Oh that thing AGAIN" Getting a bit bored with certain warbirds around the european circuit.
  3. Ah yes airshows ... I remember those! Vaguely :|

    FSX Flicker at Startup?

Hi Stewy! It took me a while but I found a link to a mate's site that has some tweaks for FSX IOCL forums To be safe, always make backups before editing files! Hope this is of some help for you. Reading your specs I'd say your PC is more then capable of running the game

    FSX Flicker at Startup?

Well you can always try getting FS2004 too It has a lot more features then FS2k2 but isn't as hard on your PC as FSX. I had a page with graphics tweaks for FSX. I'll see if I can't dig it up for you

    FSX Flicker at Startup?

O wow that must have really solved the guys problem! BTW good going saying you warezed a game. I tried X-plane and I tried real aircraft (PPL, half way through an instrument rating course) and found X-plane to be lame, boring and lacking in expandabillity. Stewy: Try this: Update your videodriver Update your windows version (If you have XP make sure you have the Service packs) Update your version of Directx Update FSX with the patch, you can find it on microsofts site Don't be put off by dimwits like RedNova, enjoy the game and don't be afraid to ask question in PM if you get it working. I might not know everything but I've been around flightsims for a while
  7. Perhaps you should go and try some low light photography. I have with the exact same lens and the aperture settings are quite enough. Try finding a 2.8 lens with this magnification range and then good luck finding the funding. Your ideas about Image Stabilisation are false. Image Stabilisation is quite usefull for taking pictures of people too. It allows you to use a lower shuttertime and still get sharp images of ANYTHING, even humans, then you would have without it. For action photography (Sports and aviation) some canon lenses have a switch between modes of Image Stabilisation (1 - 2) the second is more usefull for panning. Image Stabilisation if anything is usefull for almost everything except still pictures, in that region nothing will really replace a tripod especially once you get into shutter times of more then 1 second. About upping you ISO, never ever shoot at anything but the lowest ISO setting your camera can handle. Using anything else introduces way to much noise. If you need to shoot at a higher ISO you are wasting your time and need to get a tripod or more light. Most dSLR's are allready limited to 100 ISO as the lowest setting which I think is rediculous. I don't want a automatic sensor cleaning system (which doesnt really work better then keep your body upside down with the mirror up and hold a vacuum cleaner underneath it) or 12 megapixels (O wow billboard sized prints .... yeah I really do a lot of those) I want 54 ISO. My old Olympus C8080 consumer+ camera had that and it produced the most wonderfully noise free images. To this day I regret not keeping that camera as a second camera. It's image quality can't be beaten, not even by an expensive 5D which still has more noise.
  8. About 2500 It works as advertised ... trust me.
  9. I have that exact same lens. It's quite good at all the things you want but keep in mind that due to the crop factor on most dSLR's the 28mm lower boundary isnt that wide any more All in all a fantastic allround lens but if you want a wide angle lens I'd go with something more towards 18 - 12 mm lower limit
  10. Try calling canon because I don't think that one exists yet.
  11. Some nice shots Tovarish!
  12. So one day I stepped out of the hangar and walked into this ghastly thing. Was told later one some poor guy got this as a gift from his wife, awfull, probably just wanted a pair of wooly socks I can really feel his pain! A loving wife would have gotten him something like this! This thing makes Tom Cruise regret he ever got that second P-51 instead of this brute of a machine!
  13. Are there any adverse effects from using the Teleconvertor? I heard you lose a lot of light with one
  14. You should fly more General Aviation Soar flying is nice but in the end it is VERY limited I agree on the cost part though!

What/how many languages can you speak?

Dutch Frisian English German American (Yall!
  16. Gliding is a very good start in aviation though for my taste far too time consuming when you compare time spent to time in the air. Plus you never really leave the field, you can ... but you don't The other mustang present at Oostwolde, this machine apparently might be based there in the near future!
  17. Took a little spin in the ol' tumbledryer 172 to a airshow at a minute airfield near my homebase called Oostwolde. The weather was crap and this was the only shot I took that day that I personally like. It's a machine I have seen more in the past year then I have seen my grandmother, P-51D Big Beautifull Doll. Kinda stealing the BW idea from Sniper :P Click me for a bigger colour version that was too big for the boards!
  18. What do you mean with trying to get some AR?
  19. Some VERY STRONG work Sniper I am impressed with the progress I have seen you make as a photographer since you started posting in these threads! Good work mate!

    Psychology of killing.

Don't know about shooting people in the face but dropping LGB's from FL200 or carpet bombing troop concentrations in a B-52 from about the same altitude seems largely doable
  21. Meh I had some real trouble figuring out that the last picture was a Tornado Sniper (Or atleast I hope it is ) Nice pictures ! Interesting read about Ms. Vacher too!
