And on that note: I remember discussions asking for firing from cargo positions all the way back to Operation Flashpoint! But, seriously, it seems like we've been hearing that BIS will try to implement that particular feature in every release since then. Meanwhile, I can now swim underwater.

Yes, but it uses a double-stack magazine that holds 15 rounds. Although they apparently offer 10 round mags as well.

Head Range Plus: Improved TrackIR Movement

Do the z- and y-axes work without the addon for you? -
In the future apparently human beings are not subject to inertia or weight.

Speed and precision sound good to me! In all seriousness, though: movement was one of my biggest gripes with this series. I'm a huge fan of the changes to movement and aiming and can't honestly see anyone being "360 noscope mlg killed" or whatever just because of these changes. -
Maybe BIS wanted to give CMMG a chance to design the next Masada.
-
Oh, hey, this thread is back. I'm still interested in what's going on with this.
-
What's unrealistic about the new content? Much of it is based on real life equipment. AAF stuff is inferior to what the other factions get. Their rifles and airplane aren't even considered new by today's standards and this is supposed to be 20 years in the future. There are definite issues with some of the content in ARMA 3 (a lot of stuff is straight up copy-pasted from one asset to another), but I wouldn't call any of it unrealistic.
-
Quick! Someone tell BIS they screwed up their campaign!

Are people complaining about aiming or moving in this thread? -

Because any other movement system on the planet would have been better than arma 2. For once in this series I don't feel like I'm fighting with the game to move through doorways. The movement could stand to be tweaked a little, but on the whole this is a good change. -
AAA priced. Many of these statements were a stretch, but I don't know how you could even think this. Unless you have some sort of insider info that I don't. Anyway, the point is that BIS decided to modernize their game with new assets and throw out (most) of the old stuff, and that's not a bad thing. The amount of content always goes down when a company does something like this. Look at GTA:SA to GTA IV. Personally, I would have rather they focused on more drastic changes to the engine, since that's what we are going to be stuck with for the next few years.

ALiVE - Advanced Light Infantry Virtual Environment
roshnak replied to wolffy.au's topic in ARMA 3 - ADDONS & MODS: DISCUSSION
This looks really, really cool. Ha. -
I was referring strictly to the creation of all new content for the game, which was absolutely the right decision. You can only reuse the same assets for so long. Because the existing content looked, felt, and was super dated. I honestly can't believe they are even still using the same engine. It's probably the oldest engine being used in a AAA priced game.
-
Cool. So what are we even arguing about?
-
I don't know if I'd say it was brave, but it was definitely the right move.
-
Yep. It wasn't a big deal when women couldn't hold guns and now it's not a big deal that women aren't in the game at all.
-
Oh, I'm sorry. I didn't realize we were only depicting the portion of the population that plays arma. If that's the case, they need to add a few pounds to the player models. They shouldn't have other priorities since we are the ones paying for their games, and have been for the last decade.
-
Maybe we just think that it's unacceptable that 50% of the population is not represented at all.
-
It's probably just as well that women aren't in arma 3 since BIS wouldn't give them the ability to hold guns anyway.
-
I would be really interested in what exactly most people here are defining suppression fire as. Is this a group of players firing at another group? One vs. one? Are you keeping up a steady barrage of fairly accurate fire? Are you one dude shooting really fast at a tree that another dude is hiding behind?

Keys - Enhanced Interaction System

The cleanup of the key bindings menu alone is amazing. -
This is a good post.

It's not how the community thinks of them, it's that they portray themselves as being devoted to modding. It doesn't really matter how easy or hard it would be to mod women in anyway, because the point is that the community shouldn't have to add women to the game. Women should have been included in the game from the start. This is great.

I can definitely blame BI for releasing crappy tools and not documenting basically anything ever.

THE AMD R9 290X is now the NEW champion for ARMA3 with @_@ performance at all res!!

If we are talking about MP scenarios then the view distance is set by the mission, not the player.
