Well I got my lens about 2 weeks ago, but it was sitting in the post office for about a week, so I have been using the lens close to a week now. I’m most impressed with the magnification. It makes my 19†feel at least ~24â€ish in size, then when I take the lens off, my monitor feels like a 15†. It also does give the picture a little depth. I would say it’s definitely worth $40. It's like a poor man's big screen . My temporary setup right now is a frame of black foam board around the lens. Then that frame is suspended about 6 inches from my monitor. So far the only negatives I see is the halo/glare effect it gives on darker images and the slight blurring around the edges of the picture. One important question I have is how do you clean this sucker? I think I read a post on RSC where a guy laminated his lens so that its easier to clean, since he said the groove side is pretty much impossible to clean. I think I am already seeing some dust on the groove side and it might be just me, but the lens seems like it may be getting a little bit “foggyâ€. Is there a good way to clean it? Would laminating work or maybe another method?

ArmA supports Z-axis movement on a TrackIR, and the logical assumption is that it controls zooming, sooo.. yes, it seems reasonable to think that Z-axis movement will cause you to zoom in. Really, if you don't already have a TrackIR for ArmA, you should be getting one for Christmas. They're going to be amazing in the game, mark my words. Agreed. It will combine ALL aspects into one (Flight awareness, Driving awareness, and Soldier awareness). The use in this game will be revolutionary in my view, hehe, but my question was actually regarding the iron sight mode. If the view is farther back for CBQ purposes, my question is can you zoom in closer to the sights using TrackIR. Then again, I guess no one really knows, so I shouldn't even be asking it, eh. Anyways, if you can afford it, get TrackIR people! You won't be sorry.

Ok, nice, but if you are aiming through the scope, wouldn't your eye be closer, and you wouldn't see all that much around? I have not received military training, nor am I American, so perhaps this is the correct way of aiming, so you don't get hit in the eye by recoil? Just wundering.. This is a CBQ aiming technique using the reflex sight. In CBQ you need to see whats going on in the areas around you. Usually it is used clearing rooms and houses. You can get closer to the sight, I have seen it in some videos. Improves capabilities and realism. OMG. So, if you use trackIR, does that mean you can zoom into the sight using the Z axis ?

Hm... that got me thinking. If you were to use cars that were half the poly count as a standard car you can drive ingame, would you be able to have 2 low poly cars present at the same performance as 1 high poly car? This is going to be such a disappointing trend in games soon. It does appall me that ads are invading games now. Hell, one reason I don't watch any tv is because I can't stand the ads they throw at you, not to mention most of the stuff on tv is crap. There's a few programs I watch, but I just get it off the internet commercial free. Anyways, I sincerely hope BIS will never put ads in their future games (I know ArmA will be clear of them, at least I'm assuming ). Seriously though, if games include ads, the game should either be FREE (think of mainstream tv) or insanely cheap.

My vote: Have a button on the keyboard to toggle on/off any hud. Nothing on screen=immersion
