    No, don't believe so, could you tell me what this "OFP" is? Edit: Alright I'll go ahead and make this less of a spammy post. I loved the way the floating crosshair was implemented in OFP but in ArmA it's just... different... the crosshair is too big for one thing... in OFP it was half as small which was much better. In fact, the same can be said for all the text and dialogs etc -- I don't think there are going to be any 80 year olds playing ArmA so I don't really think it's necessary to have a bold size 24 font on absolutely everything in the game. Well, if you don't play online you can change the size of the crosshair in your bin.pbo config (easy as typing in a number), but chances are you do, so why not up the resolution or not play with crosshairs . I can't really comment on the text, because I turn it off and don't play online.

    edit I tried this and saw absolutely no difference in fps or ArmA-Mark score, although the simplicity of ati tray tools is nice.
  3. Just the M16 single shot and burst (burst still needs some tweaking) are in this version (0.13) as well as the AK47 and 74. The M4 single shot is still the old and doesn’t have the “enhancement†and fadeout. I finished the sniper rifles and will work on the machine guns next. Even though I'm doing little "tweaks", it's time consuming. BTW, that old clip I made was in stereo and sadly this game does not support stereo sounds at 44100, instead the sounds have to be mono at 22050 (the highs disappear and the surround effect is gone), so that is a HUGE difference right there, but I will make best with what I can. “I’m a saaad panda†–

  5. Eliteness didn't work for me either. Just unRap the config.bin with kegetys tool...... http://www.kegetys.net/dl.php/tools02122006.zip ........and edit your config.cpp Then just move your orginal config.bin outside of that folder (I don't think it can be in a subfolder either) to some place safe and now the game will read that edited config.cpp as it would for the config.bin

  8. Thanks for the help. It turns out it is my program, so I downloaded the adobe audition 2.0 trial and the conversion works. All those hours wasted when the solution was so easy
  9. You've got to be kidding me. I'm going to have to test this. I do remember reading some other thread where it was said that it would be best to convert it to WSS, but maybe its not absolutely necessary? I would assume it still needs to be 22,16bit,mono? but then if I use the WAV, I guess I would have to make a change in the config..... *EDIT* I looked in the config and didn't see a WSS extension for the sounds, so I tried using just the WAV files and they did not work. I guess it has to be WSS.

  12. Unfortunately, I'm still not able to test my M4 and AK47 modification in game. I’ll get to work on more sounds when I can edit in SONAR and convert it back to WSS, but right now it's not looking good (an update in the thread link I posted above). *EDIT* Problem solved. I'm in buisness.....

  14. I have run into a snag. It seems that I can’t edit in SONAR and have the WAV file convert back to WSS. I have tried almost every different combination I could think of to get it working, but nothing works. I have wave studio that came with my sound card and it seems to work when I convert back to WSS, but I really need a multitrack program like SONAR to do serious editing. There has to be some explanation as to why SONAR is not converting correctly. I have tried many different combinations, for instance, convert the exported WAV from SONAR into wave studio at 22,16,mono / play back the audio in SONAR while recording what is being played in wave studio (doing this converts it to WSS without the DOS screen freezing, but the WSS file size is 0bytes). I spent hours and hours trying to get this working last night. Maybe someone has some deeper knowledge into this? Could a driver in SONAR be the culprit? SONAR uses drivers - WDM/KS , ASIO , and MME (32-bit). Could applying a dither be the problem (I'll try without it tonight)?
  15. These sounds are great. Nice job. I don’t know if you’re interested, but I would be willing to help you with editing/polishing/fine tuning the sounds. Audio editing is an area in which I have knowledge in. If you would like, I could adjust volumes, fade out samples so you can’t hear the end sample coming to an end, try to edit noises out of the samples, boost or enhance sounds, ect........ I spent some time adjusting your M4 and AK47 sounds. Those are great samples, but they are missing that sharp attack you hear when actually firing the gun. Here is a small sample of the modification I did to your M4 and AK47 sounds.......... Download ArmA_Sounds.mp3 - Description below..... - First shot is your M4 SS A and the second shot is your M4SPR SS A. - Then my modified sounds following the same order. - Your AK47 single shot and then burst - Then my modified single shot and burst. These are not necessarily finished, but I think these changes enhance the sounds by adding that sharp attack from the weapon that is in front of you, while still keeping your original sound. I just tried using these and decoding works fine, even though the dos window doesn't stay up (when I double click, it opens and closes), but when I try to encode the edited .wav file it doesn't work. To be exact, it opens the dos window and is encoding it, but it never stops, so the .wss file keeps getting bigger and bigger and never stops. I edited the .wav's in Cakewalk SONAR and they are the same length as the originals, but different quailty. After I edited the .wav's, I exported them as 44100 Hz .wav's (I've tried both mono and stereo and both don't work). Is this the problem or might it be something else? If so, what do the .wav's have to be?

    We're you trying to fly smooth in that video or trying to fly as erratic as possible? Why are you using 3rd person view to fly the chopper? Please tell me you chose that view to show what it looks like from outside looking in, because you can not expect to "feel" what the chopper is doing/how it's reacting in 3rd person view, and what do you use to fly (keyboard, mouse, joystick)?

    Armed Assault Mod Management

    I thought I heard mention of BIS putting "good" addons into a addon pack (optional) or in patches. Is there any truth to this? This would be a GREAT idea to enhance the vanilla version of the game with out having a free for all, because people WILL eventually download a bunch of addons and doing it this way will keep things in order if a BIS addon pack(s) is(are) installed on servers.

    Driving in ArmA

    How has the driving model been improved? Has it been improved further since elite? How was the actual driving model in elite? I know I can’t expect a superb physics, but you should feel the weight, momentum, and suspension. It would also be nice to have to shift gears for vehicles that require it. Same goes with a clutch, but I guess I won’t hold my breath. Also, has there been any confirmation on multiple gaming devices/controllers in ArmA? OFP has a limit of 1, correct? So, can you have a joystick+gamepad/wheel in ArmA?

    Absolutely agree. As far as WGL's plans, are you guys going to release small things like a mini-mod until you have what you consider a full mod? This would surely help us realism fans pass the time.
