    hello, mate, very nice addon, but if yer making a next version, some WP grenades would be nice :P. I found one major bug however; the grenades physics when they interact with the ground is great, but most of the grenades (i only properly tested the american frags) appear to be going through buildings. I tested it in nogova in neveklov.

OUTNUMBERED British soldiers killed 35 Iraqi attackers in the Army’s first bayonet charge since the Falklands War 22 years ago. The fearless Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders stormed rebel positions after being ambushed and pinned down. Despite being outnumbered five to one, they suffered only three minor wounds in the hand-to-hand fighting near the city of Amara. The battle erupted after Land Rovers carrying 20 Argylls came under attack on a highway. After radioing for back-up, they fixed bayonets and charged at 100 rebels using tactics learned in drills. When the fighting ended bodies lay all over the highway — and more were floating in a nearby river. Nine rebels were captured. An Army spokesman said: “This was an intense engagement.†The last bayonet charge was by the Scots Guards and the Paras against Argentinian positions.

    WIND Operand types: None Type of returned value: Array Compatibility: Version 2.92 required. Description: Returns the current wind vector. So if wind is simulated, than this means weapon projectiles will be affected by wind?

    even if you have all voices turned off, its going to take you less time to say 'squad, line up on that ridge in front of us, go prone and hold fire until i say so' than do a ' ¬,3,2, f1, click, f2, click, f3, click, f4, click, f5, click, f6 click, f7, click, f8, click, ¬, 7,6,' this is a very nice idea. and will help alot ith immersion, at least for me. this is done in the game halo 2 (gasp...gets shot).

    yeah, i was the mech-platoon CO in that game (IRON FIST V by rhodite). This is my brainstate at few minutes before the arty fell on us. -me: "FO, shell the shit out of that village with our mortars, platoon, i'll meet you at the edge of the woods overwatching the target village". -FO: "i'm afraid i cant do that, there may be civilians in there" -me thinks *you bastard* -I call in arty just on the edge of the village, FO complies -I say "ok, lets pull back further in to the woods, so we dont get bummed if arty missfires". nobody gives a shit. I take pride in commanding such brave men. -I think about cancelling the arty since we can already see the arty target, but FO tells me it's already on its way. "migh' as wai" me thinks. -arty comes 5 minutes later. I feel a 81mm smack me accross the head. it was still a very good game tho

    i wouldnt mind some, especially if it made you use your brain alot more, (like that mission, where we had to find the base via following supply trucks). Especially if they gave you a proper mp5sd6, which is super silent and super weak, so you wont go take on a 8 man section from 200m.

Looking forward to play some "fakin neeem". only 5 hours to go :P I must warn you though, that jinef kid who posted above is a bit of a ginger tossa, and i recommend you just ban him now. if you Google Jinef on Images , you'll see what i mean. (the one wth the shades)

    i and a few other regular ofp players started playing ghost recon 1 lately. in the eyes of a programmer, the ai is shit. in my eyes, they are amazing. they look amazingly authentic, they are fast and deadly, they indirectly throw handgrenades at you (not target you with the throw weapon as in ofp), they lay surrpressive fire, they scream, they move properly and not like the mongs in ofp. When you go into a building with a rifle, you actually expect 30% casulties...so you come up with tactics like...'lets chuck an at4 rocket inside before we go in...'

    no. just because something is new doesn't mean it's bad. if they can reduce the timing inbetween timings (or sort out whatever makes them sound like robots) then, 'that' is a welcome edition imho. 'Two, engage that soldier' sounds a lot more authentic than '2...target...soldier'. now thinking about it, it would be really cool if the squadleader could point at things when he gives orders. (since animations with animations is now possible...i read somewhere...like run and reload) something simple like in 'brothers in arms'.

    noice games last night. next time, lets do breakthorugh as the very last thing...if people decide to lead carefully and cleverly. Some amazing screenies We couldn't find a tokarev, so we just used the next best thing. Note the utter braveness or stupidity of the soldier who is about to be cut in half for using the platoon goat more than once in a single day... Where's my Rabbit got stoned, and started thinking he was a jamaican gangster rapper. 'Toch Meh' Grinko Vasitjev, once a recruit in the 42nd Kazakh Guards Battalion, had to be made into a M2A1 Gunner, because of the kommissar adding a few more joints to his arm when Grinko decided to retreat. Saying that, he is now an exceptional gunner, and has built up quite some reputation with the Uzbek women for reaching spots others can't.

    AIs behaviour/improvement

    -A lot less use of the engage command. When an ai leader sees an enemy, it sends his teammates to engage, which makes them go rambo to try and hunt the enemy. This is why you survive many a firefight because the ai leader sits behind some ridge and sends one guy at a time to engage you. If they do decide to send someone after you, then it should almost always go together as a squad or at least a fireteam, unless you the leader wants to send a sneaky fella to slap the t72 up it's arse with a ATlauncher. -OFP ai is programed to flank and all, but the way individual ai's respond and move is so retarded, it just puts the squad in more danger. The ai should analyse what buildings/obstacles there are around, and only then decide to flank or not. Eg. don't do it in desert island. -Together with the use of new animations, make the ai movement alot more fluent. No offense to BIS, but even though ofp ai is programmed to the death, they still are one of the most retarded ones around, because they are so robotic. They have to stop to turn, they have to stop to hit the deck, they have to stop to reload and so on. The original ghost recon ai code is probably the 1/10th of the ofp's ai code, and yet, the AI in ghost recon looks amazingly authentic, i especially loved the way they duck down and crouch-run to the nearest piece of cover if they get shot at. They hide and wait for you to assault, and if everything goes quite for about a minute, they come out to investigate. Basicly, the ai need to not just be authentic, but need to look authentic too. -(inter squad) Platoon intercom. There should be an inbuilt script or something that allows mission makers to link 2-5 groups together into a platoon,, so the ai squads work together.

Before After I'm surprised nobody has decided to go to airbase or the armour base in that mission yet. Next time we play it, we're going to the airbase and borrowing a 81mm mortar from the americans.

    if this is implemented, the so called 'slowing down' shouldn't just slow down how fast you run. Other effects would be. -Slow down your aim -make your aim more shaky However there should be a limit. It would be great if the system was properly implemented, and the addon makers were given the ability to define how much thier infantry addons can carry. This would allow fast scouts and heavy'er armed infantry to be existent. An acceptable slot system in my opinion would be with the use of rucksacks which take the secondary weapon slot and has it's own magazine slots seperate from primary slots. Just like the WGL5 rucksacks, only on a bigger scale. So you would have to choose 'Weapon Rucksack' and than 'reload m16 ruck mags' than fire, and a m16 mag appears infront of you which ou have to pick up. The rucksack should slow you down considerably, so you would have to drop it when entering combat, as the combat doctrine states.

    with finmod, i killed a sprinting player with a mosin nagant (non-scoped from 600m away) with a single shot. He was running about 70 degrees away-left of me.

    I refuse to be led by kaka again. He led one game where we almost all died, treated us like we're the skirmishers of a roman army(ok, WHEN alpha takes 70% casulties, they'll pull back...), represented me with a picture of one ugly mofo when 15 of you would be crawling or bleeding to death without moi, and is now posting homeerotic pictures on the forum. On google images (safe search off) search for 'Brave Medic' and you'll find a picture of me (the second one). The 4th one is kaka's mother.

    What are you on about you coke sniffing dutch pimp? After we captured the airfield, we got charged by 2 platoons of russian mechanised infantry from the opposite side. They cut most of us down, then dysnc saved us. I had fun playing as a medic for once, staying back, popping my head up every now and then and emptying a clip at where the friendly tracers where going. I healed about 15 people as well, and probably ran 3x more than everyone else in the mission. Then i got shot in the head when i was ordered to retreat. The fate of a coward...even if he is a medic...is always the same.

    very nice games yesterday. The Kommissar of the 42nd Kazakh Honour Guards Division, Still standing and fighting like the perfect fighting example he is to his men and the dangerous enemy he is to all that oppose the might of 42nd, after taking a 7.62 in every limb and losing his face to an AGS grenade. Note that the 50cal wound to the chest is hidden as it may be disturbing for some.

    AI = Server controlled?

    as far as i'm aware, ai is server controlled yes. Any settings on the server will be forced on the clients even if they don't have it. Eg (viewdistance, terraingriddetail, 3rd person, crosshair, super ai, etc) However, any ai a client is controlling via the ofp squad interface (F1-F12) will be local to the client rather than the server. Although those ai will still have the server settings forced on them because the player controlling them is using those settings. hope this helps.

    red is there for you r4ead altitude better. Thecloser the red lines are together, the more steep the hill is. if it is a thick red line, then it is most likely a cliff.

    some rough scales for you guys: nogova land : est 86km^2 malden land : est 58km^2 everon land : < 50km^2 kolgujev land: est 38km^2 total = 242km^2 Any orig ofp island area WITH sea included (on grid map) = 144km^2 so, if that image is the whole of sahrani, then, actually the nogova should smaller than in this scale shown here, since you can fit 4 and a Half Nogova land masses in sahrani. ofcourse they may mean Sahrani is 400km^2 with the sea, although that would deny common sense so i doubt that.
