the 4IB Dedicated server is currently hosting a public version of the game. We have a good amount of COOP maps in place as well as the vanilla maps. The server is based out of Virginia. I don't think the point he was getting at was considering whether the opponent are AI or players. The point is if a game is immersive enough to make you feel like you are there and get into the mood, if you do that then the control scheme won't be as much of an issue. Yeah CTF is great, but its not the only type of game where you can play person vs. person. If you consider the aspect of CTI which can be a large scale battle with slow respawns does that make it less competitive? I'm pretty sure that a realistic match with objectives stylized on a campaign or just a fictional story can be just as competitive as CTF without AI.

Considering finlands history there is more then one main "war" for WW2. Research before you start posting about topics you don't have enough information about ; ). Finlands WW2- Winter War Continuation War Lapland War For the North Korea Issue: To put it simply the north wants to take the south. Numerous incidents ranging from small scale escalation near the border and commando's being sent in by submarines and indigenous operations. In my opinion korea isn't the "Forgotten War" There is still fighting going on, ships are still being sunk and people are still dying. All the situation needs is escalation. The north having a nuke only makes it a nuclear power in my opinion, it wont matter if they do or don't have it. Then again with that crazy leader... My opinion on why the US and other world powers disagree with a nuclear armed N. Korea is that they have repeatedly harbored terrorists. A good example of this is in 2000 when the Communist League Red Army ( Japanese ) hijacked an airliner and took asylum in N. The topic isn't to announce that ArmA will only be released via online distribution. They are still searching for a publisher and whos to say they won't find one? I doubt it will hinder your chances of buying a copy more then it will help. If your parents aren't trusting internet websites you should find someone who does buy products both electronic and physical that uses a credit card/paypal and have them talk to your parents. There should be no reason that if you work your ass off to get 60 bucks to buy a game online that they won't use a card to buy it for you, they put themselves at the same risk going out to dinner and paying with a card as with paying for something electronically with a card. Of course there are very few restaurants created for the sole purpose of stealing credit card numbers, but thats what the better business bureau is for. They even have a section for E-Commerce! A tid bit off topic but I just felt that side of the discussion needed to be addressed : ).

The post says ONLINE distribution, not the specific vendor to do so. For all you know they may offer it on Direct2Drive, which doesn't use STEAM. There are many forms of online distribution and Steam is just one of them- thats what I like to call very narrow vision. I will be buying it in the form that makes it the quickest available. So if its online I won't mind getting it through that. And by the way, you don't need Steam to run Red Orchestra ; ). Regards, Raynor

Impressive, always wondered what those were used for. At any rate its been sitting on my HDD since before I joined the navy, and I haven't touched it since and probably won't. I didn't like the quality of other M240's on the market when I made it so I suppose something better has been released since. But if there hasn't at least someone has a pretty good stepping stone there. Some issues I know it does have- The bipod may or may not be correct I've seen images with the goofy looking triangular style extensions and ones without. Not alot of detail on the bullet strip- actual feed uses metal links. Never did get around to spicing up the barrel

Thats not a mini AWAC's it a E-2C Hawkeye. If I recall correctly Mr. Footmunch released a Ea-6B Prowler ( which by the way it is very much so a combat aircraft ). I had worked on a Ea-6B a long time ago... you can see a screenshot here: Lost the .p3d a long time ago...

While in the "view mode" of the other player you have a small icon in one of the upper corners showing the position of your turret. Two bars on the top and left show the angles ( horizontally and vertically ). So theoretically after a few spotter rounds you can start to hit what you'd like quite accurately on the map- as long as you know its position relative to yours. I liked that system since it allowed for player skill to come into account. Though the one thing I didn't like was that people would try and steal your artillery....while you were firing it ( especially AI ).

That would be great, able to actually put equipment into the hangars AFTER flying them. Thing I really want to see is the ability to do some pretty hard landings with choppers, unlike the "if your over 30 speed your dead" OFP has had thus far.

They are the most kind of evil bush. They are about yey tall in height *holds hand at chest level* and attack any monty python fans at sight. You should be really carefull when around them. They are like communists. But not to get off the topic. Maybe for OFP 2 BIS will release a tool like in some games where you can edit small bits of terrain and maybe add a raise and lower height tool..then again that would require smaller squares and maybe even more of your comps memory.

Yeh and if you make a US base make sure its realistic. For instance make sure there is absolutely NO SHRUBBERIES! Gah I hate those things. Its too easy to tell if a tanks coming when it breaks some shrubbery, and then the carl gustavs launch and your tank flips ten feet in the air! Gah! Kill all the shrubberies and replace them with grassy terrain is what I say.

Speed limit signs! Thats a must! And stop signs...and maybe a street design with garages and driveways...no one wants to look like a hick with their car parked outside the yard in the grass afterall....even if it does look like my house. Heh heh hrmmm....and make a police department too and a fire station. Make sure theirs a hospital also...everyone needs those. and a real airport (sorta like the one on mapfact but even more realistic )

You can find the SR-16 from MAI MOD at Misc. Addons Inc. Requires version 1.85 and is extremely accurate in close ranges. Have fun!

Thanks for the tips, I had originally intended in releasing it in several versions, with different textures. But sadly every texture i found wouldnt work with O2 except that one i grabbed somewhere. Pics where on the site which i provided the link for and yes it is an airsoft rifle. We are also working on our own little script, and hopefully will obtain our own sounds in the near future. Thats all for now, check the site for updates.

I think this is a good idea, but id like to see it where you can push a button out of a menu that first ejects you then if you press it again can pull your chute. Ive died many times trying to get eject from the action menu while my plane/helicopter is crashing to the earth.
