Aircraft Should Be Visible at Great Distances
raynor replied to Uziyahu--IDF's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - SUGGESTIONS
Fixed wing? Maybe.... Rotary Wing? No, especially if they are flying Nap-Of-The-Earth. You can hear them well in advance, as you can in game. In the game ( technically ) you can see out to 10KM, set your view distance to 10KM. I am sure there are very few people who can roll around with view distance at that setting with the other graphics at decent settings. So unless you have the ability to run the game at 10KM view distance constantly ( and have a server running at max 10KM when on multiplayer ) you won't ever get that option. Hence get over it. I am not an expert on the game engine but from what I have seen it wouldn't be possible to expand ONLY the aerial part of the game to further distance horizontally, vertically maybe. But that is only educated guesswork. WW2OL did and still does have substandard graphics compared to today's games. It is a great game ( I love playing it every now and then ) but it is able to work the way it does because it doesn't pull too many resources to render those objects at great distances. ArmA2 however has an already high object count and a decent load on most CPU's right off the bat. -
Aircraft Should Be Visible at Great Distances
raynor replied to Uziyahu--IDF's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - SUGGESTIONS
Without good radar systems that can distinctly tell altitude and position it is a bit pointless to be looking up at a dot. Sure, you can shoot your stinger up there, but in the current ArmA 2 package there is no reliable way for a soldier on foot to be able to identify friend or foe. Of course if it was in the game that would be a different ( as the stinger does have IFF ), but it doesn't. -

Why don't you go play something you don't think you will flop rather then wasting your valuable time on these forums. Unlike some people I don't need to bring in age to the equation to point out how blatantly retarded an idea is. Are you tired of people telling you to get over it? Guess what...get over it. Next time try to add something constructive to the content presented by the OP moron. -

ArmA2 =/= WW2 Online. Aircraft at 5KM up = dot. Get over it. -
For some reason it seems like I have said this before....

The issue that I see with this is every time I go to hold my breath to stabilize the rifle I will be firing off the PEQ making it very easy for my position to be found during night time conditions. That is coupled with the fact some people don't rebind their hold breath key and so every time they zoom in the optics with the right mouse button they are also holding their breath AND firing off a "come shoot me" sign. Leaving it as a different fire mode prevents that and allows you to know when your using it and only do so when you intend to use it.

These kinds of weapons have been like this since OFP, I remember being able to get right up to the very tip of the front post of the .50's in OFP to where it looked like a box was spitting out red lasers. Didn't realize the issue has stuck on all the way to A2.

Why are burning vehicles blowing up over and over?
raynor replied to Arksa's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - GENERAL
Unless the all the fuel in the tank vaporizes it will not blow up. They are standing there as a reflash watch to ensure the damn thing doesn't catch on fire again. -
FADE activating even with a bought copy.
raynor replied to Kayla's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - TROUBLESHOOTING
Unless they changed the way FADE operates it doesn't scan external to the ArmA 2 structure for bad files. try turning off post processing and increase your fillrate to at least 100% and see if the problem persists. If it does I then suggest reinstalling the game and retesting. -
Frederf stated the IN GAME zero's, no one gives a rats ass about what you zero your rifles at.

Some things missing that I want to see PLEASE!

MH-47 CHINOOK Holy Helicopter Names Batman! -
But how else will I get all my points in domination when I put some dope in the gunner seat to earn all the kills for me!?
-
Why does it need to be faster? I don't want to get a fence stake shoved up my rear because the avatar decided to go faster. It is an animation though and someone could probably make a shift+v combo that runs a faster but sloppier anim.

Turn your PC speaker volume down. He is double the loudness because you hear his actual voice and his voice on the radio.

Buy a joystick.

AAAAARGH! Fix the boobytrapped save system!
raynor replied to Drozdov's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - SUGGESTIONS
Real life doesn't give you saves or auto saves. -
Let me show you to the bin where I like to place everyone's opinion that doesn't agree with mine.

Tested it, 24 units all ejected at the same time. By time we were on the ground there was only 12 left ( no explosions just crumpled chutes ). The combination of an enemy squad and a Tunguska proved short work of the remainder of us. So yeah, tilde ->6 -> eject = bad joo joo

equalmodrequired=1

May of...may of not, cannot recall. I know it was and still is an issue in ArmA, if two parachutes run into each other you get a crumple effect and possibly a light explosion followed by a quick trip to the ground. Using tilde - 6 - 1 combination most often produced the results, while jumping teams of 3 at a time reduced the chances of collisions significantly.
-
Wouldn't select all when doing that though, as in OFP and ArmA you had a high chance of parachutes colliding. And when parachutes collide people die Dignity, people die. But I haven't tested that mechanic yet in ArmA 2 yet.

"CONTACT DEAD AHEAD POINT BLANK OPEN FIRE!" "But dude...look at her ***s!" "Oh yeah..." *Fap* *Fap* *Fap* Nude female model FTW EDIT: SNIPE!

Sure you weren't playing Rome/Medieval/Empire total war? Good idea though, I'd like to be able to set how many people I want to die from a single grenade hit instead of the default 3 it is at now.
