Anyone ever seen that show called "Ghosts of War" where that Croc Hunter dude went to these pacific islands and crawled around gun emplacements and caves and found Japanese skeletons and went diving into sunken WW2 ships finding skeletons and guns. And he sat in a japanese fighter sitting at the bottom of a shallow lagoon. I thought it was pretty cool, I wish I could do that. Plus the dude has balls, he was swimming with like a million jelyfish and was just like "Oi! Another little bugger stung me" over and over again.

Even though its a PC game and its only from the early 90s, I think it really deserves a remake. The game was called Shadow President and it had about 256 colors and you basically had a map of the world and you could cut economic relations with countries, increase espionage spending, nuke, etc. The object was to stay in for 4 years or get reelected or whatever but I found myself getting assassinated or impeached whenever I tried to show Iraq and Russia who is boss by nuking them, then nuking England for complaining. It was a DOS game and if anyone has ever played tell me about it.

I watched it a couple times, I didn't really like it. I found Ermey corny and they didn't really have any cool stuff on. Wow he can drive a tank over a haystack. Look at that he used a sharp sword to cut a watermelon...

You're crazy, that comic was hillarious. You see it's funny because someone's feelings got hurt and mine didnt.

Obviously none of you have seen Seventh's "Lifeless" video. Because that is obviously the winner. I mean come on the whole thing is flashpoint footage with a couple parts with OFP guys lypsincing. And to the guy who said Avril Lavigne is hot... take a look at her WITHOUT makeup.

As a future soldier, I support a war in Iraq, though I wish they would hold it off until I finish college.

I changed my post or something. And ya Family Circus indeed does anger me when I read it. I don't think a comic should do that to a person.

I'm proud of my nation because of the ideas it was created on. I am ashamed of my nation when I look torwards the future. Right now America is the only super power. Many people can't come to grips with the fact they cannot stop the US from doing anything. It upsets them. I can relate because I get upset when I think I can't stop the US from doing lots of things I don't like. But when people insult the country I live in because of their frustrations, I tend to get a little angry, because they are essentially insulting me. And everyone gets angry when they are insulted. So I guess my point is, people tend to think of their countries as an avatar of them and that is what causes problems. I suffer from that problem.

I like ejecting from a plane and being able to swim over to a destroyer, climb up and shoot the Japanese on board. I like flying planes off Carriers. I like beach landings in a landing craft. Bouncing on the sea, Naval guns shooting the water next to us, the front door coming down... Good stuff.

Oh god I love it. Even when its barely playable on my computer. I can't get enough of the multiplay demo (Wake Island) Carriers and Destroyers you can walk around on and in and drive and gun. Torpedo planes. So many good animations... Think OFP but more colorful, arcadish, vibrant, flashy, and fast. It's really fun.

I swear I just spent half an hour looking for a bf1942 thread.

Ok so last night I built my new computer: Asus A7V333 Motherboard Athlon XP 2200+ Volcano 5 HSF 512 MB DDR PC2700 Geforce 4 Ti4400 Western Digital 100GB IDE HD 36x12x46x CDRW 16x DVD So I put it all together and turn it on. It works! I set the frequency settings in BIOS (I set 133mhz) Then I restart with the Windows disk in. It starts to install Windows XP. It comes to a menu where I need to choose something. Drats! My keyboard died! (It's been known to do this before) I get a new one but I still can't select anything. I figure its frozen and restart. Then it freezes on boot in the PCI list and IRQ settings. I restart. It continues to do this. I fiddle with some stuff on the motherboard (set the jumpers to force 133mhz) Still doesnt work. Undo what I did. Now I turn on the computer and everything starts up. All the fans (except the HSF, it starts and stops) and the lights turn on and everything but there's no display on my monitor. Like its not connected. I use a different monitor, still no display. Then I proceeded to cry. Does ANYONE have ANY suggestions? I'm desperate. Brand new supercomputer and it's just a noisy paperweight.

I don't see the logic in your thinking. You say people will change, but not enough to make us good people. I don't think we can say or not if eventually we will change into the helpful and enlightened people that communism depends on... especially after a few nukes wipe out most the earths population... Anyway I don't worry about when or if human nature will change. I'm going to live another 60-70 years. I don't think it'll change enough in that time to do anything, so I'm going to look out for my personal freedom for the next few decades.

OFP is a tool of the devil. Sorry to say but it is. Better quit the forum and go somewhere else

Then people say people change and governments adapt. So why won't communism work? Â Or Laissez-Faire ecconomics? Â Or anarchy?<span id='postcolor'> Because most systems that are narrow visions of how the world can/should work. And the problem with a narrow view is that those sorts of systems dont generally take human nature into account...they just assume that people will adapt. They wont, generally Communism wont work because of greed. People dont WANT to work for the same as others, even if the other persons job seems harder. Â People want to see gain for what they do. Laissez Faire capitalism wont (or shouldnt) work because it would actually concentrate money even faster than it is done now, and you'd end up with a VERY small or non existant middle class and a new sort of 'slavery' where the rich dictate how you work...and class movement is virtually impossible. Anarchy...well... it could work..but only with a much much smaller population. <span id='postcolor'> So you say communism or laissez-faire or anrachy work because of the state of people now. But we have established that people change. So we have no business saying none of these will ever work. Who knows if people change and they do, just like Marx said.
