Yeah, seeing Armstrong (for exemple) almost perfectly fresh at the end of a stage makes me think he is as "loaded" as I was 16 years ago ... -edit- added the "almost" since I've seen a few sweat drops in a TV footage.
-
I don't understand why you guys always talk about "the team". I don't see why they help so much, it's not like they give armstrong suuuperpowers so he can ride twice as fast, right? Sure they can give him some support but i don't see why he wouldn't have won without his team... Why is it so important that you all stay together to win? In the end, it's just one person that REALLY has to do the job, right? Yeah sure, it's nice when your whole team ends within the first 10 places but that's not what i mean. Why does Armstrong have more chance of winning when his team is close to him? I don't know anything at all about this sport, that probably explains why i don't understand this... I never bother to watch it, the only parts that i like is when they fall (at least if there aren't any serious injuries) and the last km. If I understand correctly, the team can prevent Armstrong from being overrun by people behind, his teammates also help him when there's wind and in case of mechanical problem, their bkes can be cannibalized.

look for duty belts and combat belts on google, at worst, you can always check a military surplus site since they generally have the kind of belts you're looking for French combat belt also look for "webbing belts"

I think I remember a TV show not long ago about rare diseases and allergies with a british girl who was allergic to water AHAH !! No chance I drink water anymore .... (well, actually yes, this morning, I drunk a liter and a half of water and I plan on doing the same tomorow morning ... I don't want to fall consciousless in the middle of the countryside )
-
erm ... you want to pee after a while if you drink a certain quantity of it ? ok, ok, I get out
-
I think it's been shown a bit earlier than last years Eurosatory, on this forum at leats.

I don't see any particular use for it ... Good old mirrors and newer optical fibers and such (along with "flashbangs" and offensive grenades) do it, and they're more discrete (ok, not the "boom-devices", but you get what I mean) than this gun, and I wouldn't trust a video display to take my aim in a situation which woyuld need accuracy and fire control. Now, take into account the nature of the weapon mounted on this system, a handgun isn't the most useful thing in CT/HRT duties except if you have to "travel light" (recon, advanced EOD-and that's if you're right in the action and not wearing the "space suit"). Handguns generally offer a limited range and in this weird set-up a relatively hazardous accuracy -more like lack of-(and often a lesser stopping power than your main weapon). Procedures for rooms and area cleansweeping exist and have been combat proven, and they generally don't require that kind of hi-tech gizmos of dubious efficiency. Most military and police R&D department are working on better solutions and platforms for off-sight aiming. I don't mind having to expose my hands after a cautious check if it means i have a chance to neutralize the "bad guy" in one shot (ok, ok, let's say a double-tap) without endangering the "innocent people" around, my team and me. And overall, this system looks clumsy(well, a lot of weapons happen to become clumsy in CQB/FIBUA -which is generally a big no-no iduring HRT and CT duties-) but there it's just too much of a hassle for what it is : just a pistol grafted on a weird looking and not-so-practical folding support with a pistol grip. -edit- I haven't watched the video(s) so I may have missed a few things.

If we took it as an insult, all of your horses which were on spot would have been served in Paris' restraurants. Now I understand where the term horse doeuvres came from. Hors d'oeuvre
-
If we took it as an insult, all of your horses which were on spot would have been served in Paris' restraurants. You (as in You : goddamned roastbeeves)were just here as guests, present only by our will, which means we could have gently taken back the Horse Guards and the Grenabiers to the french Chunnel enterance and could have also grounded all the of red arrows planes due to participate to the parade. Now, be sure that if ever some of our tanks were to parade in your towns or participate in cross training on your land, be sure "Dunkirk" will be appart of the gear and vehicles shipping. (yes, we have a few unammed Leclercs awaiting for a name ... their crews can be inventive at time ...)

That's the goldfinger version isn't it ? (or at least, the english version) Goldfinger did a cover, yes, but Nena sung it in english too. Those are her lyrics. yeah, i thought so. Hast du etwas Zeit für mich Dann singe ich ein Lied für dich aahhhhhh I like that song

That's the goldfinger version isn't it ? (or at least, the english version)
-
Anybody watched the parade ? (I didn't)
-
impossible, the mods are evil liberal pinko-ass commies who want to take over the world and they will lock YOU and throw YOU in a fire (sorry for the spam)
-
Should sneak the Le Clercs in anyway. And put a flower on top of each one Damn tree-huggers. yeah, or we're just going to fit the leclercs with the same skates/shoes as the ones you use when you don't want to soil parquet floors
-
If they could put the Green party tree-huggers from the Conseil de Paris under arrest ..., I wouldn't mind
-
well, most of the weapons we display are fully functionnal (that's if the potential customers in the presidential tribune wants to order something and get it shipped immediatly ) We surely won't have the Leclercs this year on the Champs because of the goddamned members of the green party who moaned because the tanks damaged the pavement ... Our boys kindly proposed to repair it all, but no ... goddamned hippies .... (nothing is sure about the leclercs but .... well) (the members of the green party apart of the Conseil de Paris not only moaned about the Leclerc messing a little bit the pavement but also campaigned for the withdrawal of Paris from the association of the Godmother Towns sponsorizing military units, hopefully, the Socialist Part and the UMP voted for the subevention and made the pot smokers shut their pie-hole)
-
aaahhh Sting's Russians I prefer London Callling by Clash different style though (and it's french "equivalent" : Paris brűle-t'il by Bérurier Noir)
-
(I was talking about the Paris' parade ) Now in the smaller towns, you only have what's stationed around
-
we don't only show off weapons, all the military and paramilitary forces are represented : Army Legion Air Force Navy Gendarmerie Police Firemen It is some kind of achievement in the carrier of these men, and it's also the occasion for the french people to celebrate their armed forces as it's an awesome PR tool and some kind of morale booster. The only thing which sucks is the training preceeding the "big day out" on a landing strip during long long hours (especially if the summer sun is here), but in the end it's allways great to walk down the avenue with comrades in arms.
-
Nah, we don't have any Polish Tradition units.
-
it's business (well, it was when we had guests such as third world countries or china, the day always ended with the signature of defense on indsutrial contracts): "here you can see our new type of hats, very practical by cold weathers" "oh, there you have the AMX10P, we've been able to hide the rust with a new kind of paint, interested in a few barrels of it ?"
-
a right wing extremist with mental problems tried to take a shot at our president ... but the crowd didn't let him, he's been disarmed as soon as he had been spotted but he still shot once (it was a .22LR carbine)
-
because military parades are for commies
-
what's the big difference between the two anyway ?
