That is just because me(and KH) loves you ;) @Drew, you don't need to use the updater, you are ready to go. We kept the rsynk in order to let you decide after the first big pack download if you want to keep updating via yoma (which is in itself linked to an updater) or via your own client side updater (you will need to set it up like everyone else though beforehand) -

Yes, it will. Because you are thinking ONLY from from client perspective. That somebody(s) is going to mirror it for you, and it will be bandwidth effective for him to have clients download ONLY what is needed, that to put up sizeable .rar files up for download. It is an automated process in itself, so he doesn't have to worry about downloading (uploading), setting up a download link etc etc Plus, with daily updates, it will be easier to maintain. Especially for the ACE dev team, to share their work, it is easier than packing, uploading, forwarding link to mirrors etc etc There will surely be old school mirrors around as well. At first. Will those gonna get updated as often as the updater will? I wonder... -

do not bring the crosshair discussion in here please, there is already a thread about it. ACE will not remove the crosshairs. It is your own choosing that you are playing with crosshairs on, or if you are joining servers who have it on. It is a difficulty client or server side option, use it. No need to remove it via mod -
hello and welcome to this community. to answer your questions: Yes, it is pretty active. Plenty of mods, addons, missions etc are being released daily. See the forum for yourself. Also, BI involvement within this community is top notch (the amount of beta patches released for instance, as well as proper reply from game developers themselves). For MP part, mostly coops, some public PvPs, and 5+ tournaments and Leagues that i am aware of. There is a lot of gaming going on, but oposed to A1, OFP, most players are playing under locked doors (private servers, hidden, or pass protected) in order to get a proper gaming session without needing to baby sit someone or make sure no one wrecks their game. There shouldn't be any problems running A2 under bootcamp, haven't tried it myself, but as a apple computer semi-user, i can say there are no real problems running win apps (including games) from WIN bootcamp partition. There are a few in this very community using mac pros (2xquads etc, playing A2 without issues). Unfortunatly for you, neither iMacs or mac book pros (i use one as well) are good for gaming. Especially due to their video cards limitations (9400gt is a very low-end gfx card). I am not expecting you to be able to play without hickups on such a system, even though A2 is more CPU intensive than GPU. As said, it is possible, if you would have had a mac pro with some proper GFX cards. But given what you own, i wouldn't go buying without giving the demo a try before that. That said, the 9800SSC GTX+ is way better than the 9400, and if you would have a dual/quad ~3GHz + min 4GB of ram + a fast HDD, that would be a lot better. But as you said your rig is from 2004, i doubt it. All in all, the community around A2 is great (and i have been around since OFP days), but from your gaming experience, i am pretty confident that the macs are not gonna make you enjoy this game to the fullest (if at all)

yes, it could be done via EH, but why bother? 1. it's not that much to ask from your own self to get that button pressed twice when you board vehicles, is it? 2. if you got an ALT+TAB issue, i suggest you rebind your keys. 3. not everyone wants to have a freelook mode active by default when you get in vehicle, so why then impose it? Please do not continue this subject under this thread, since your question has been answered, and it has no connection whatsoever with ACE. -

1. the ACE team decided that there will be NO dismemberment whatsoever. Reasons have been explained before, so i will not go over those again 2. you are in no position to DEMAND anything. This project is done for free, by a bunch of ppl in their free time..You like it, great, you don't..well, better luck next time 3. Have you ever been in a combat situation yourself? Have you ever lost a limb yourself? Or have you seen a budy of yours loosing one? NO, it is not possible to have render to texture (or as you said picture in picture), unless you do some dll changes etc etc. Conclusion: not worth it, not possible, unless BIS does the changes themselves. Will it be in OA? I doubt it -

1. please post again after you spent your free time working on a project on your own, released it to the community for FREE, then someone wants to modify your project..(i am talking about scuba and dasquad SCAR pack available in ACE1) 2. in this particular case, there is more to it to why the original creators are not willing to allow it to be ported.. 3. everything done using A1 MLOD for instance, is in a sort of GPL license. That said, everything that is NOT, is to be treated different. there are several issues in this thread: 1. Christian willing to spend his own free time trying to import 3rd party models into A2. All good with that as long as proper credit is given, and if he got permission prior to release. He is not the first, not the last one to do that... 2. JonPL posting about a port over from A1, which has been denied by Scuba and DaSquad for a good reason. Personal use is one thing, as long as you keep it personal in the first place... so please keep your comments to yourselves until you actually produce something, otherwise you won't understand most of what it takes... EDIT: Not for ppl who are NOT using O2 for modeling...but other software such as 3dmax, modo, maya...hell, even blender is easier to use than o2, and features baking maps, etc opposed to O2 -
