no, i think you fail to understand how this works if you want it done the proper way a. you texture stuff when you are done with it - visual main lod - not before that, because you will need to fit all the meshes on the least amount of individual textures sheets - and that mesh is soooooo far from being anything close to done (have a look here for the amount of detail you are missing: http://www.strategic-bureau.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/12/BTR-4-006.jpg ) b. do the config is easy...model.cfg needs to be done when all things are in (as in interior as well - there is a single mem lod after all) but whatever, again no offense, but for 2017, a game mesh should look closer to this: http://pre10.deviantart.net/dd8e/th/pre/i/2014/002/e/4/btr_4_model_by_siregar3d-d705e80.jpg i think

i actually never needed jump as in ever in arma's francise....step over stuff yes, climb on stuff or down from stuff yes etc, but never the game refered "jump" let me make myself clear here, all of the issues with not being able to step over the smallest rock or sandbag or whatever else, without the need to press anything at all (which reminds me of the 50+ tone tank being full stopped by the smallest rock, but that's completely different) has NOTHING to do with being able to JUMP. In fact, if you've checked Argo, the character body mechanics and interactions with the game world, while far from perfect, are quite a bit more fluid - and yes, they don't even have arma's step over stuff in, and you don't need to press any additional keys.... I tried to think of the last time i actually needed to jump in my RL (besides my less_often_than_i_would_want bball games), the results are pretty slim - jump over some puddles very rarely, but a lot of step over stuff.

Star Wars mod, what is going on?
PuFu replied to fn_Quiksilver's topic in ARMA 3 - QUESTIONS & ANSWERS
yes, that is precisely what you have been told: my ball, my game. You should really read that EULA they have before posting stupid things. They could shut down modding in general, true, but from a business perspective - yes, gaming industry is a business, modding isn't. it would make little sense: they life span of their products is in a good measure due to 3rd party content = modding, besides their continuous support Cannot speak for others, but not really for the praise either...i do it for myself, because it's one of the ways i prefer to spend some of my free time... No one demands respect, they demand their property rights to be respected....not the same thing. This seems to be somewhat daft: no one is working for the "community" or for anyone else. If i'd be working for someone, that someone would be paying me, which is not the case. again, doubt you can read at this point good grief: only the author can fill a DMCA. Yes, it can be anonymous for you, the user, it won't be for the one that got the notification - There is gonna be a reason and eventually proof of ownership. you seem to be more than happy and willing to do just that nope, you don't failed logic, well done - so because some people steal shit, it is ok for EVERYONE to steal shit? you still fail to understand the difference between something that is provided for free and it's real commercial value, a business and corporate greed...nice salad you made out of it all -
Star Wars mod, what is going on?
PuFu replied to fn_Quiksilver's topic in ARMA 3 - QUESTIONS & ANSWERS
all this reminds me why in 90% of the cases don't give a fuck about self-entitled pricks they didn't trow it away, they simply didn't release it, and you and me don't deserve any explanations. Theft is still theft, even when digital IP rights are concerned. You'd be surprised to find out that most if not all mod makers have tons of content that is quite ready but unreleased, most of it will never actually see the light of day...i personally have at least 4 addons in that state, a ton more content done or almost done but abandoned to "a cupboard". Go have a fit because of it please Frankly, i am like 90% of the content creators: i don't do it for anyone else but myself: my work, my terms, my conditions. Also just like most of the content creators i don't really care about you the user, your wishlist or you desires: you, the user, get to play with my creation because i allow that to happen, not because "i do the working for you". I am unsure how you came to that conclusion and who actually made that claim... I do it for me, you are simply a by product of that. I can very well wake up one day and simply remove all my content from all the places where it has been mirrored, and you couldn't legally do anything about that. More so, i am one of these people who will stump you hard if you breach my EULA in any sort of way. everyone is free to 'piggyback" on A3...why don't you do it yourself and expect others to do it for you?- 84 replies

Using p3d files from Arma in a mod?
PuFu replied to _SCAR's topic in ARMA 3 - ADDONS - CONFIGS & SCRIPTING
no, i mean you cannot change the textures using hidden selections (technical). what you want is not allowed (hex editing and re-packing BI content for redistribution) - legal. again, you always have the option to make your own custom structures. -

you really don't seem to follow: you do not add any 6gb dependency. Malden will be part of ArmA3, just like the other 2 islands besides Tanoa which is part of the expansion. there is no legal matter, it's a technical matter: you simply cannot change textures to existing houses... -

did you check the new one that are available with the new malden island - dev branch until 22nd when it is released on stable... if not, making your own structures is the way to go -

How can I make a face/texture two sided in O2?
PuFu replied to l4z0rr0b0tz's topic in ARMA 3 - MODELLING - (O2)
false... It does NOT have 2 sided geometry, it only displays it as having 2 faces, which is completely different similar system to what oxygen uses works if you are using editable mesh (and edit mesh modifier) instead of edit poly, which allows you to flip the face normals and weld the vertices if you have a real mesh as above, backface cull will show it as it should (btw, backface cull works based on face normals as intended) -
i doubt such a small island would be a state, no matter how much you'd wish it yourself, besides, what does french have to do with a greek island anyways?

malden dlc Malden DLC 2035 - Official Feedback Post
PuFu replied to sasha013's topic in ARMA 3 - DLC
i have been playing argo mainly to explore this island. I really really like it! well done :) + all the new content that comes with it :) -
yeah the track thing is a bit weird tbh, because it is not really an animation source: https://community.bistudio.com/wiki?title=CfgVehicles_Config_Reference&redirect=no#selection...
-
hmmm, thinking about it, i think it could be done via the same way the tank track textures are animated....can't think about doing it any other way (btw, that animates everything, not just certain textures afaik)
-
ahhhm, afaik, it is no possible

If you'd post what you are trying to achieve, maybe you'd get a better answer

Anyone can create his own mirrors for RHS and upload the files we provide, as long as there are not changes for them (re-pack, re-distribution), on any site that doesn't require the uploader to share his IP rights with the company behind the mirror website, like Valve/Steam does(so that the uploader needs to be the owner). It is as simple as that. In the case of modifications (as in re-textures, config changes whatever), for Arma, you can do all that without ever touching the original files, and release it separately provided these files are dependent on the original ones. With the tool this thread is about, i can do the DMCAing once a week as i always have, in under 2 minutes per upload...there is no headache anymore whatsoever. -

You obviously don't know what DMCA is and how it works then: DMCA takedowns is used to remove the content infringing IP. In case the one who received the DMCA brings a counter notice in accordance with US copyright laws (at least where valve is concerned), i will get notified and receive his personal contacts so i can pursue further legal actions. I can legally do that if i i feel that there has been any commercial gains or if i want any sort of compensations for damages that might have occurred. There has been 0 such counter notices so far (because none of which can prove that they have IP right for the content i am DMCAing), and i have close to 1000 DMCA filled since A3 RHS version was released, and also a number of C&D sent - directly to owner and their service providers, all of which have been put into effect with permanent consequences. false...but feel free to do that with the content you create yourself and share it to the pu...oh wait, there isn't any, is it? Because you obviously failed to respond to my question, i'll say this again, BI doesn't own any IP for any of the content made from scratch by any 3rd party. I have read about this fallacy before from other ignorant people such as yourself, so you might wanna read BI's EULAs again, and some IP laws (be it US or EU ones) before spreading this bullshit and making a fool out of yourself. it's actually really really easy to prove, because most 3d artists have their raw files stored securely, i also have my files digitally signed and full track history of model development (from the very first box to it's final form). Sure, i'll need to take you to court for it, which means i'll need to spend some money on, but in the end at the very least own legal fees will be paid by you, plus the damages. -
