  4. nope, that is the wrong assumption - as far as i understand it, BI wants to pull out their own resources (people) from Arma, minus the bare minim support...that means 99.9% of the work for such a 3rd party DLC would need to be done by the 3rd party, all by itself (finished assets, scripting, configs, full use of the existing engine). That means no engine improvements either. I am also pretty sure such an endeavor is put in place to reduce direct end of lifetime support for A3 and relieve their pay-role developers - which means the 3rd party developer will get a cut out of the sales made, there won't be any (or if any, minimum) investment upfront from BI. While the above is speculation at this point, that is precisely how i read it. That means, for all intents and purposes, the only viable DLCs are the ones that are content oriented, content that is plausible/possible within the existing framework, not outside of it. I would keep my expectations down to earth if i were you just to reply on your example - a proper female (different size) would need either full rework of the engine - unlikely to happen at this stage, or an entire new set of ALL animations - just as unlikely for any 3rd party to be able to do it - mocap studio needed...

BI standard, at least in terms of quality standars... ahhh, do you see "pitch" in the title? again, you should go back and read the quoted thread in the first channel. The pitch is something one interested needs to do towards BI, not you... ...as previously discussed in this thread, BI is looking for a pack, including assets as well, not just a gamemod. lol
  6. of course, but you do understand the idea, the content and features (when i say content i am not talking about just addons btw) is being pitched towards Bohemia, and NOT the end-user/consumer, and as such, the entire package needs to be up to the same standards as BI own made stuff, yeah?

  9. and do you actually think if for instance RHS wouldn't have won for instance, there would have been no more development on it ? a lot of the ones that participated are still about and creating and supporting their content

    in other words, as long as these addons were made without actually using BI tools (it is possible today by using 3rd party apps, plugins and tools), then there is no problem

    it is NOT in the controls, it is in the RHS menu. By default it uses whatever controls you have for changing optic, (by default it is CTRL+RMB & numpad "/") just note that it doesn't actually work for key+mouse control setup
  12. yes, use some generic stuff that resembles it (especially for parts that don't have a military number), it's military "name" (public domain afaik) or just go a bit creative...
  13. let's not turn this into off-topic for no reason, but besides that UGV and kiory's rifle, the rest are retextures or ports, not scratch made assets... in any case this is a minority i think, so my question still stands

  15. a side-question from me - since no one really makes content that actually fits armaverse anyways, does the "pitched" content needs to fit in this universe, it is advisable it does, or is it simply unimportant...

    there are 0 requirements for this mod afaik. the mod is not based on RHS, it is compatible in terms of armor with RHS though (that is because if you want proper simulated armor you end up to the same conclusion as we did). again, they don't need RHS to get the armor system, quite the contrary, in order to work it needs the fire geo needs to be set properly vehicle's p3d, running RHS along side will do jack shit, just like with every other 3rd party content that is dona vanilla way. the real number is closer to 600k, with over 400k on SW alone

    wasn't donated, @Hatchet_AS is in fact a member of RHS, and as previously said, he has other life priorities atm. btw, we have no access to his wip files, or anyone's else for that matter, even if we had, we let each artist finish his own stuff unless he asks for a helping hand himself. afaik, none of the stuff he has been working on is shelved or canned. as always it will happen when it will happen.

    unwise indeed :) feedback.rhsmods.org no idea, but you are asking in the wrong thread, project opfor is not maintained by RHS no, as explained on the feedback tracker, the steam uploads are not bugged, you seem to have a problem downloading them for whatever reasons that are not under our control most of the time we keep stuff that we remove in for legacy purpose. Aligning RHS content to Jets DLC meant we had to do stuff differently this time. in general, no, not each time, only when we have to catch up with some of the core changes BI made with their vanilla game.

    not sure what you wanna achieve, but all Arma shaders with the exception of multimaterials, need the diffuse texture applied directly, and all the other stages are needed for other maps. to solve it, scale its UVW space coordinates
