(..) well, maybe. i mean: its perfect the way it is now! but i was pointing to the magic "death dive" the littlebirds tend to go into at a certain speed- i think it´s somewhere around 250km/h and above. but maybe there´s a value which keeps the LBs flight behaviour but lowers the possibility of the death dive. anyways, it´s still cool the way it´s now: it kinda fakes the max speed limit //edit qoute code

yay! a littlebird topic here´s my list: *engine startup and -shutdown sounds (already got some- you might have noticed them in a mission on TJs server. feel free to use them) *new rotor sound (changed my LBs to use a different one) *m4 holo instead of mp5 on "mh6 armed" version *a very little less maneuverability *if possible: giving the skids a higher armor value in order to make faster flare landings possible. i.e. with 45km/h *a sniper version would be nice. *script to transport and drop ammocrates (can be done by mission designer aswell, so not really important...) more to come

*meditates* must remember to read the whole thread before posting hm, i didnt know about that. well, i bet that i´ll be one of the guys that´s gonna have one with a broken battery anyways. must be my bad apple karma. i just dont like apple stuff. in fact i used to! but i think apple has just too much eyecandy on it- sure they look cool. but i cant get into a good workflow with my mac at work. i´m faster with the pc. that´s why i dumped my mac as an email and quick conference system... my brother in law´s ibook almost burnt, when i plugged the phone cable in the integrated modem, once. i´ll stick with my agenda: "form follows function" on apple stuff it seems to be just the opposite way

woot! this is some nice detailed piece of work! looking forward for some CSAR missions with it on TJs or the BAS server but say, isnt this fueltank in the back of the cargo space a bit risky? if a bullet would penetrate it, the fuel would spray or leak all over the cargo or the bullets ricochet could cause some serious trouble inside the cargo area.

i came up with one idea reading the "goggles yes or no" thread... how about making the blackout- phase on the mpppe.sqs´ longer? since its a very short blackout now, it doesnt really FORCE you to have the goggles lowered: you can still see pretty clear through the blackouts and still engage enemies; and since you cant actually do something against your eye- reflexes (at least without long practice) your eyes sometimes really stay closed for a long time, if something got into your eye. i was trying around a bit by myself and found the <table border="0" align="center" width="95%" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0"><tr><td>Code Sample </td></tr><tr><td id="CODE">cutText ["", "black faded",random 0.5] ~random 1.2 setting pretty ok.

lowerable goggles rule but only if they have a sence... well thanks to BAS and their blink- script they do! what´d be really nice too, if the tonali sandstorm would cause such an effect too... *hint* -
i once saw a quite interesting theory on TV: it basically said, that nukes would be either absolutely useless or would even cause bigger damage because the debris would stray all around and hit almost every spot on earth. further nukes would only affect objects with a high density: the shockwave- caused by an explosion- would be channelled all through the object which has a porous property, resulting in dumbfounded NASA faces and an asteroid that would wonder, how a mosquito could sting him in space... now here comes the interesting part: instead of smashing the whole earth´s nuke arsenal right onto the asteroid, rather play PING PONG with it! the theory said, if a nuke would detonate near the asteroids trajectory, the shockwave- blast could divert it. this would require very precise calculations for EACH nuke (the documention mentioned that at least 6 nukes would be necessary). sounds funny, eh? well mankind must be pretty desperate if they come up with such theories... what do you actually want to do against an massive object made of deep frozen water and rock, travelling with dizziness causing speed  //edit: yes, earth is as defenceless as me, beeing woken up by either my clock or my girlfriend every morning. seriously, there´s nuts mankind could do

nice to hear that, TJ. just take your time dude something i discovered a while back was that you can flare- land the blackhaks with 40+ km/h while other choppers crash at 30+ speed, hitting softly the ground. so i was thinking of something: could it be possible to modify the appropriate LOD section of the skids and/ or wheels of choppers so that they´d be able to slide/roll on them, simulating the real thing. the wheels wouldn´t need to be fully functional, since this is an engine limit on choppers anyways. but better skid- handling would be something really cool. the littlebirds would have another big advantage since they could quick insert troops even faster- which would balance their vulnerable armor. what you think? may this be possible?

agsmith, if you take a closer look, you´ll see that the bullets (or better the tracers) appear between both guns. so you can simultate multiple moving gun "turrets". its just one "turret" in the middle of both guns. i was thinking of gunpods following: how about configurating the gunpos as ffars without no rocket model (or a tracer style model) and giving it a bullet style impact value and ROF? i dunno how the dkm mi28 simulated it thou, maybe its just the way discribed above... but multiple (playable) guns wont be able to implement into ofp1 yesterday i checked out a script that simulates an ach47 gunship, which may be suitable for ac130 gunships aswell. (check out www.ofpec.com ´s editors depot pending list for it- sry ofpec is too slow to browse it atm... takes me 5min to open the index file) //edit: typo

latest tonal patch applied. if you got all those addons in your modfolder, try to moving them to the plain /ofp/addons folder. make a modfolder (ie /ofp/misc/addons) for the other stuff, if neccessary

lol looks like someone´s trying to suck up to BAS. chill dude, it wasn´t meant aggressive. just to make me (and i think i speak for lee too) clear: it´s kind of showing our interest to this lovely helo and especially BAS´ work! seeing this nice piece of work progressing in it´s status is something special to me too, because it´s definately going to be even more kickass in game then any screenshot could show us here! i don´t see any pressure in those posts, as we just like to know if everything is going well with this project. and since the BAS homepage cannot be updated atm, we´re asking here for some news on this baby

nagual, please check following texture: it´s the small version of the trash texture, i guess. it´s flickering and blinking. to me it looks like there were two textures above each other or something. those can be found all over the island in the desert area (mostly near civilized areas)
