100% agree. Funny thing is, the kiwi's in a war scenario, would have to rely on Nuclear Powered U.S. carriers for almost all their aerial protection. And thanks to the New Zealand Nuclear Free Zone, Disarmament, and Arms Control Act..... they're pretty much prohibited from docking port. Bad relations shouldn't be relied upon when it comes to national defence! Whoa.....look out! A budget for four, maybe five choppers!

They ought to take it too a salt lake to test its true top speed.

Does anyone here know if the Logitech Driving Force Pro wheel for PS2, is compatible with the PC? I've read that it runs off of a USB connection, but I haven't been able to find out from anyone, whether or not they also work on PC? Edit: Searched the RSC Forums (Race Sim Central)....found my answer, and for anyone else wondering, yes, the wheel does indeed work on both platforms.......It was unsupported on PC (but worked), and since then, Logitech have released drivers for it..... I'll now be pickin one of these up tomorrow!

lol.....just had a look see through the car list....and this one caught my attention! Copy and paste: <table border="0" align="center" width="95%" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0"><tr><td>Code Sample </td></tr><tr><td id="CODE">http://z-o-g.org/gt4cars/used-oldtimer/volvo-240-glt-estate-88.jpg I hope the creators will let us put on one of those mammoth Volvo truck turbos.....that'd be nuts!

I don't believe the off topic forum is showing 'signs of stupidity', but it certainly is lacking the enthusiastic debates it once had..... My biggest gripe is also when people post an article, but not an opinion on it....or even pose a challenge to others for theirs. For example: Then the poster leaves a hollow comment, or no comment, or a single smilie that readers have no idea what the poster is actually implicating behind that smilie. End of example. What I'd really like to see, in the space that follows a newstory, is an insightful opinion, or a challenging argument, which should stir up discussion. I see no point in someone posting an article, but not discussing it. I view such posts as a form of Spam.

And FPV F6 Typhoon, and FPV GT! Shame there's no Z series HSV's..... I'll be picking this one up as soon as I can!

Hi all! I'm currently looking to buy or build a new rig, with the main focus being upgradeability when higher speed processors come down to reasonable prices. To do that, I know I'll need to choose my motherboard wisely. At the moment, I'm not all that convinced that the 64-bit processors and motherboards on offer from AMD today, will be well suited to the needs of tomorrow when 64-bit applications becomes the mainstream. I have the view that once more 64 bit software comes out, that there'll be much better 64-bit hardware on offer to handle it.....When would one expect 64 bit applications to become main stream? Because if the wait will be any greater than two years, I'll stick with 32 bit technology till at least then. Secondly, comes the subject of PCI-express video cards. Whilst I like the fact that they've got greater bandwidth than there AGP counterparts, and PCI-E seems to be the future regarding video cards. However, one of my mates got a new PC with a PCI-express video card, and can't run HALO because of it. While it is all nice and dandy to have a fast video card, it's not reassuring to see that in some instances, they're not backwards compatible with some pre PCI-E games. What I'd like to hear, is if any of you in here who read this and have PCI-E cards, have had trouble, particularly with OFP, and how the response that developers have made to rectify such/any backwards compatibility issues. (Patches, tips, instructions for configuring systems, driver advice e.t.c.) And thirdly, comes DDR 2 memory....My concern here is if DDR-2 will turn into another RAMBUS RAM debacle, where the technology is bypassed, and leaves existing users high and dry in regard to cost effective upgrades......I'm very weary of this because I am one of those users who was left high and dry ...... Having said all that, I’m certainly not an expert, and if anyone has opinions, or is in the know of what to expect for the near future, please, feel free to voice yourself or point me in the right direction of related articles, because in the end, it will all shape my decision of how I'll end up building my system! (Which won’t be until the middle or end of march, depending on what the expected cost will be)  I've taken quite a liking to an Intel 925 board, but don't really know much about what AMD have on offer. Edit:Posted in this forum because the OFP community specs thread is also resident here....otherwise, feel free to move to OT.

Yeah.... I was planning to do so anyway....believe me...if my motherboard has a feature, I wanna be sure I'm using it! For the hard drive, I was thinking of something along the lines of a: 120-160 GB Maxtor DiamondMax 9+ SATA Calypso Quiet. (SATA-150, 7200 rpm, 8MB cache) I'm the kind of guy who struggles to half fill my current 80 gB hard drive.....(which I'll also be slotting in!)

Thanks for the suggestions Lucretius. Highly appreciated. Â None the less, I'll research the AMD board option a little more, see how much the package would cost me in Aussie dollars, and get back here.

No response hey? Never mind....I think I've decided what motherboard I'll choose. The Abit AA8-XE LGA 775 i925XE. Not far from top of the line, but 'top of the line' seems to mean an excessive amount of LED's intent for a see through case, that quite frankly, would end up annoying the $#!+ out of me (one way or another), and the removal of printer ports, which I need, seeing as I don't have any problems with my current printer. Next up, is the processor....anything in the 3.0 - 3.4 GHz range would suit me just fine......as I'll probably end up upgrading the processor once the LGA 775 socket series of processors reaches clock speeds somewhere near it's potential (whilist also being reasonably priced). I considered a Celeron D as a stop-gap for now.....but figured that in the medium term of the motherboards life, I'd be far better off with a low spec (in LGA 775 terms) Pentium 4 chip. Now......Graphics cards.....Radeon or GeForce?...... I'm trying to budget this, so basically, 128 bit, 256 meg, PCI-E is my criteria.....and I have no friggen clue.

MBT's aren't obsolete yet.......however, a mass armoured confrontation, seems ever more unlikely to ever occur. Air power has well and truly taken over the 'Tank killing' roll, and enemy armoured forces are more likely to be obliterated by air power before coming into contact with opposition armour. Their role seems to be made redundant, however, in an urban area, with proper infantry support, they are still the force to be reckoned with…as air power isn’t able to get as down and dirty as a tank. My 2 cents.

Tovarish already backed me up for the first half (Cheers mate. ).....and I bet you'd strugle to distinguish an engine fire (ever heard ) from normal AB operations if you think that's an AB..... As for the second half.....I will, however, give you the concession, that it is not a tanker... There was a lack of images of civilian aircraft I could find that effectivly showed the aircraft dumping fuel, and before finding a picture, I typed up the post, looking for a military tanker dumping fuel, but this picture was an even better example....I merely forgot to edit out the tanker bit, as I was in a rush to get to work...... The aircraft pictured is not a KC-135 (as you claimed) *note lack of central controlled boom, but actually an E6A, which is basically, the Navy modified version of the USAF E8 command and control aircraft. (Itself based upon the Boeing 707) And yes, the designation is right....it's E6A...not A6E....and yes it is dumping fuel....because the wingtips are jammed full of electronics...thus the fuel jettison port is not in a standard position, but then again, it's more standard than a KC-135, which is capable of dumping fuel via it's boom.....which is hardly normal in comparison to normal aircraft at all.

It's an F-111.....the 'dump and burn' is a method which I believe is exclusive to that aircraft. You can even try it out in OFP with Skaircro's F-111, which is available:here!
-
Fuel dumping systems are very common on airliners.....they're primary use is to jettison fuel in case of emergencies such as this where the plane must land prematurely....and reduce the risk of fire if the plane breaks up upon landing. Ok well i was proven wrong in my assumption  You got a pic of such a tank and as to how it dumps the fuel? Extreme example: The manner in which this military tanker dumps its fuel is similar to how an airliner would do so.

brgnorway, I agree that the british are the only ones left producing 'pure' sports cars, but with the re-birth of the Australian home grown 'Elfin' brand, it's no longer just the British.... More pictures & specifications of the MS8 Clubman [im]http://www.elfin.com.au/flash/ms8/jpgs/S_006.jpg[/img]>100kb More pictures and Specifications of the MS8 Streamliner Getting one of these would really push my buttons.

What's the predicted rise in sea levels over the next 50 years......I'd like to buy some real estate in preparation!

This quote had me in stiches Seriously.......American cars DO lack the quality of their European, Japanese and (dare I say it) Australian competitors. What I'd like to know is the Criteria....of what defines a 'world car'.

Can any of you guys list the exact features of Oxygen that you know you are missing? Do any of you know why only Oxygen Lite was released publicly? Do you know if the full version of Oxygen contains 'trade secrets' that BIS rely on to maintain the exclusitivity of their product? If not, read up, then present a better arguement.

Lol.....I was expecting a thread telling the world that the boomerang is Australia's weapon of choice (according to the host of survivor, it is!).....or some other general 'mis-information' that foreigners will lap up! Cool technology though.... & someone had a sense of humour calling it boomerang.
