Just got back, looks like things are nice and hot under the BAS sun When I get a few free moments, I'll check out your mission mate, from what I heard, it sounds promising...

@ Leone I'm living in Delaware now, where the annual PUNKIN CHUNKIN (do a google search, its quite interesting) takes place each fall. My wife and I went down to the "lower and slower" part of the state to see this. They mowed down an entire soybean field, a mile or so long, and lined up 10 different punkin chunkin cannons at the end of the field. Opposite end, in jest, a church put a bullseye on the roof. The winner nailed the utility shed next to the church and sent it splintered everywhere. HA! The guys that build these things are the guys who couldn't make the volunteer fire department. HA! Four portapottys for 10,000 people, too. Bwahahaha... Never before have I seen so many toothless tattooed babes congregated in any single place. Good ol' Delaware. EDIT: http://www.punkinchunkin.com/ EDIT 2: Some good ol' Lower & Slower boys... If we happen to wander off base into Dover...ya'll might wanna watch out fer these folk, heyuck!

STGN - why does BAS need constructive criticism for Earl's work? Personally, I think he did a hell of a job representing for the M4 and really gave a "feel" to the weapon. Why you're going on in this thread about it is beyond me. Take it somewhere else. Eh? Eh? Get ready to VOMIT boys! Just read, guys. We all have RL to deal with at the same time. TS just moved halfway around the world, and his work on the Pavies was delayed, deal with it. The server woes are soon to be fixed, deal with it. It's not as though we haven't made delays and updates KNOWN, it's just a matter of reading on your behalf.

Smartass. I leave town for a little while, and you sneak comments in like this. But hey, I dance around in a flightsuit for you, don't I? I mean, come on. That doesn't do anything for you? Damn. OE
-
You are right and I would be surprised if he chose to redo make them and I don't think he should. I just thort BAS should consider it before they chose which guns to use. But i realy think that they or earl should re make the frew thnigs I have seen earl got rong: The forward bolt assist has to go back a bit, just look at a picture and you will see what I mean. The RAS has too meany holes again look at pictures I don't know if BAS are gonna use Ironsight but if they are then they should add the "buckel"(the thing that makes sure the Ironsight is fermly on the flattop) which aint on earls current model. STGN STGN - no worries mate, when/if things like this arise, they've got old heads like me on board to keep things on track realism-wise. Most of the guys on the team could probably tell you the make and model for every piece of equipment they create for this game. And when they need some assistance, guys like Damocles, Gatordev, DocAFSOC, and myself are there to lend a helping comment. No need to worry about realism mate, we'll make sure it's spot on. I gave in and bought my nephew a Tokyo Mauri M4 RIS. All I could think about when I ordered it was the line from Christmas Story... "...You'll shoot your eye out!..." Unfortunately, I don't think they'd let me on the field

What do you guys want from nightstalker units?

Miles - Thank you the comments, good to know you have personal opinions and experience on this. I will ask, however, you do not attempt to express my political or personal viewpoints through your interpretations of my words. Appreciated. We work closely with AFSOC, CIA, and other government agencies in acquiring resources needed, however our line of work has nothing to do with changing the "way it is down there" whereas some aspects of the these agencies are attempting to do just that. Our firm has one simple ideology: The rescue & retrieval of persons domestic and abroad. We will not stick our hands into the cookie jar of bureaucratic bullshit and get involved in any other aspect than rescuing someone relesaed or retrieving them by force. I think what we have here is an debate of moot points. Do not assume I endorse "spraying roundup" on villages. I (as well as other members our firm) neither have extensive knowledge of the war on drugs nor a real interest in trying to figure it out, but we do know that kidnapping and terrorizing those around them for the sole purpose of raising funds (it may have started as a political statement, and has morphed into an industry of profit, nothing more). Personally, I don't like expressing my POV on issues in these types of forums, however, I agree with you. I think the only reason the "war on drugs," which is becoming one of the largest failures, is still happening is because there's already been too much funding and effort poured into it by the US Government and it's contractors to call it off. We're not contracted for this, understand that. I was wrong in not clarifying what I was commenting on previously. My asking for citing of sources was aimed at what seemed to be your statement of fact. You DO NOT have knowledge of the inner workings of logistical support in firms like DynCorp and the likes, and as such, should not state things in fact. DynCorp, as well as our firm, have recieved nothing but 100% support in resources from AFSOC (example: 60s det'd from Moody AFB) and government agencies. That's why I asked you to cite your sources. I'm sure it'd be an interesting read. Why would I care? I'm not there to solve political issues. Hell, I'm not even there to stop kidnapping, which would be as pointless a fight as the war on drugs. We're there to bring them back. And if we did stop it, I'd be out a paycheck for the missus and me:;):. Â Sure I have a point of view on these things, but I keep it separate from what I do and would rather keep them away from an opinionated forum. So basically, no idea, and really don't care. I agree with you that all other correspondance should be done in PM. Feel free to do so, it'd be an interesting conversation knowing you have some personal experience. Let's keep this thread for the nightstalkers. Cheers Ofpeditor To be on topic: For the workers of this mod - email is ofpeditor@ballistic-studios.com; if you need some questions answered, feel free to ask, I'll see what I can do for you. -

You may be Colombian, yet the statement you've made is grossly misinformed. In my line of work, we routinely encounter FARC, ELN, and other 'revolutionary' factions (term used loosely) that have for all intensive purposes abandoned their original motivations of political uprise and turned themselves into nothing more than terrorists. Money and profit fuel their fight, and political movements have taken a back seat. I can tell you from encountering these groups, while equipment can be primitive, they are fairly well armed. They lack discipline and sufficient training, and it's a plague they cannot seem to shake. Cite your sources, please, would be interesting to see where you're pulling this information from. Yes DynCorp is present down there. In the simplest sense, but highly offensive to anyone working in this line (including myself), it's a mercenary business contracted out by the US State Department. From reading your quote, it sounds like you've heard a lot, but are blowing hot air to fill in the gaps. If this mod is shooting for realism, you're leading them down the wrong path. If I had the time this morning to go in depth, I would. If you have questions, feel free to post them, I can help answer some, time-permitting. Ofpeditor -
Mate, fitting 8 on the planks, you'd need asses the size of a pinhead. Six is possible, yet add in body armor, vests, other bulkiness, not a feasable option if you want to have smooth operations while  disembarking. With two per plank, we're able to have a bit of elbow room to detach our PRL's and get set to touch down without fumbling around another man. Six or Eight just isn't practical. So in terms of realism, two per plank is just bout' right, mate. Cheers Ofpeditor

Directed to Avon - What exactly do you do besides nurse all the OFP community? Ofpeditor

That includes you, Lee. Do not flame in this thread. We've already had our threads locked from flaming and flame-biting, so if it happens again, we know who started it and who to point the finger at. Ofpeditor

They're still present in some parts of rural South America (i.e. Colombia), too. They're reliable, sturdy planes. -

We're given guidelines from the firm as to what they will supply and what they will not. Communications, NVGs, Firearms are all provided by the firm at either a lend-lease policy, or extreme discount to the operator. I've chosen the latter for everything here. Other items (i.e. Paraclete RAV) can be attained through the firm at a fairly decent discount as well. They do not have a standard issue of gear as the majority of the guys I'm associated with have mil backgrounds, and the majority of those have SF affiliation and background. With this, it's a general idea through admin that we know what we like, we use what works for us. Hence, we're given, in simplest terms (although far more complicated), a budget. Purchases are submitted and go under review as to whether or not the expense will be fully compensated or not. In addition to standard operations, I provide medical support, and subsequently I'm granted a bit more elbow room in what I will require. Easiest way to put it, we understand what's a personal expense and what will be covered. With the personnel we have on board and having strong and current affiliations with the military, we're granted opportunities that the civilian world would not encounter. Hope this helps? Cheers Ofpeditor avon - I think the real question would be: where did you serve the quartermaster? In that case, behind his desk for some new socks. Â

If this were the case, the addon maker would not be proving himself or his work at all, would he? Â For the last time, and to reiterate what's already been said, moderators have been asked to close this thread if the current topic of discussion does not cease. It's all been answered before, ignorance is not an excuse for not reading this thread before posting. For the sake of us not having to visit the same issues/topics numerous times, and taking away the time of the developers from their work, I sincerely ask that you read the thread to find your answers before posting, as most questions have already been answered. Thank you Ofpeditor

Took these a little while back, and the helo has gotten better looking by the day... Cheers ofpeditor
-
Sweet_pup - While it was worth a try, as far as I know we've discussed this within the team and decided that to allow each helo released to have distinguishable differences (outside of the model), it'd be in best interest to have different features. I believe other, suitable options were decided on. I've operated, and continue to operate from LBs throughout the work I'm involved in; and while we do routinely train for fastroping from them, due to the sheer size and maneuverability of this helo, rarely will you find a scenario where the pilot would opt to hang himself out to dry than rather keep a continous, fluid 'touch and go' where the operating environment permits. This being the case, it depends on the situation, but for making distinguishable helos, it's been a team decision, and you'll be happy with the compromise we've come up with. Any of the team can back me up on this. Fear not, your Nightstalker love will be fulfilled. Cheers Ofpeditor

That's fine, just don't do it in here. Read the board rules, stay on topic. Getting back to the PaveHawks: As Ebud previously mentioned, Tigershark has done an impeccable job on these helos. Having the 60 near and dear to my heart, it's nice to have one in OFP. To the community: you won't be let down by this work. Cheers ofpeditor
