    well if you talking about someone making an app that ruinning along with arma.. giving postion of all units etc etc.. he|she has eigher found a bug in arma that they can intercept with, they use this exploit to cheat with and feed back the info to you. or they are have a app sniffing the connection between you and the server and feed the info you want.. in first case.. you can fix this by upgrading. as i mention in my previouse post.. if 2nd case. why not just establish a crypted connection between the client and the server.. with lets say 256 bits random key on eatch connection. so if you want to crack this key.. his beloved cheating app better have accsess to a supercomputer. B.cos the time his home pc has cracked the key,, the mission will be over.. and on well overtime.

    from what i understand.. bugs in the reason for cheats.. you exploit a bug in the system. a player found a way to do ""this & that""., and you call him a cheater B,cos it not suppose to happen in the system. i have to agree with a bit with StryDa. Now..Who gets to know the bug first?? bis or Pb ?.. well i thinks its Bis.. bis got a good comunity around itself that reports bugs fast. Who fixes this bugs? bis or Pb ?.. well i thik its Bis The arma devs can check what bugs needs to be fixed first and so on.. depending on the dammage the can cause.. now what I Think Arma needs. is in fact something like Apt.. you many think Wtf does Apt got to do with Arma and Wtf is Apt.. for thouse of you who has used linux with a debian install would probealy know it verry well.. im just talking about the Idea behind Apt. now my idea is simple. you got a master mirror where all the bugfixes are. eachtime you go online with arma. arma automaticly checks for updates. and if ther is any updates. arma update itself. if you do not update.. you can not play one the server that has been updated.. and you can only update arma if lets say krypted keys on each side match.. "somesort of gpg key maybe" All this would make arma almoust a ""Up to day"" game, since you are not upgrading eatch 2-3 months longer. you can install 1 fix if its been put on the mirror. I only have Bad experiance with PB and i really dont want to see it in arma. PS.. I whish i could Vote "NO" twise

    For god sake dont put Pb on arma.. we dont need more 3rd party software.. Pb is bullshit anyway.. people who wants to cheat always find a way to cheat. why not just make the server better,, wher you can put autokick/ban on thouse who have Tked to mutch. if i see people with a score of -5 i know what he have done. dont we all. and make the server so you can add the ip or mac to your own list. also only allow the mods you want, if you want any, but there a porblem keeping track of all the mods beeing made today.. :\ i see there was a Major minus.. where it sais the cpu usage increases by 1-5 %.. i dont think people will like that mutch as arma already demands so mutch of the system. Also this isnt Bf with its wallhacks, surfe on uav's etc etc.. and i think the average age of a arma player compared to other games i think i a bit +_x years older, Good Admins might not be the answer alone, but and a better tool to manage the server is what we need. also Anyone here played Americans army ? well how many times havent I/You been kicked for no reason by Pb? kick for 1 min bla bla bla.. Screw Pb. My vote is NO!!!
  6. there is no reason why not.. you need to download the tool called Kegetys then you copy the mission you want to your "edit mission dir" then unpbo the file with "cpbo.exe -e mission.pbo" on commandline.. right clicking doesnt work for me so i have to use the "cli"

    i dont know about the 6th sense editor upgrade. i only use the orginal editor. what i do is select empty then objects, and scroll a bit down on the list and you see fence barbedwire the classname is WireFence
  9. alright,, i dont know if you all noticed it,, but you can stand in the middle of a fire.. burning wrecks or fireplace without loosing any life.. and this anoys me verry much.. what kind of soldiers are they ? firemen soldiers with antiburning sutes on them? hehe so i was thinking of making a script that checks the distance to a wreck,, but thers a problem with that. a werck stops burning after a while, so if i check the dammage of the wreck it will be wrong,, because i dont want my soldiers to loose life when the wreck has stoped burning.. is ther a way to check if something is burning ? or do anyone got a great idea for a workaround for this?
  10. Wolfrug intresting,, why bis didnt make it work and implement it. only they and god knows why.. but i find it hard to belive that the AI is to stupid.. In my oppinion the AI has got ""brains"" enough to identify a fire with a little coding. they already know how to runfor cover, identify a enemy. flank a enemy etc etc. so i really dont think it is that hard for bis to make this happen i a patch, but im not going to script this, and as CrashDome said. "cutdown my fps by 10-20" with checking all this stuff. distance. player etc etc. I dont got that much fps to spear. so for me, its all about waiting and see what they do about it,.. or just live with it and use mapfackts addon

    Grand Theft ArmA! i do like to see that one i dont think he want the "people" to do all the work for him.. but to me it sounds like a big project that might need 2-3 scripter.. depending on what he really want.. he might do it all by himself but how long will it take.? 2-3 months? making something like "GTA" will take time. it was a big game and its not job thats done it 1 day. ps.. making dialogs is SOOO boring!
  12. well.. how many times havent i been shoot at while im in the tank.. just barly managed to get my ass out of the tank|stryker. then when im just a few feet away from my werck they tend to do a "mercy shoot" make sure im dead.. but when im in fact laying on the ground verry close to the tank, which by now has started to burn, the burning wreck is giving me cover. "in tha flames".. CrashDome. you asked me how this will help my mission.. well.. it will help my mission by simulating real life as mutch as posseble.. i agree with you on that.. all i can say is.. i hope the arma devs will make this happen in a patch later on.. but for now.. i will have to stick to mapfacts addon.. havent tested it yet, but i sure will if its true that you loose life when close to fire with that addon..

    Hi. im no expert in scripting but,, what if you change while {_continue} to while {(_continue == TRUE)} do { blah blah i know should not mattre.. but you can give it a try.. i also suspect that the error is related to _goalarray = _goalarray + [_goal]; but not sure.. have you tryed it another way forexample _goalarray set [iNDEX, _goal] _goalarray resize _x+1 i also noticed that at the end of your script your missing a ; //RETURN _goalarray <---

Did i say someting wrong? i didnt mean to be negative or anything like that,,, i was just pointing out that Mr murray has already made a Air strike script.. how can i know if Zonekiller knows about Mr murrays script! yes there is no harm in sharing scripts,, I think we do it to little infact.. it helps the comunity making better "missions and scripts" and UNN yea your right,, this might have become a bit Offtopic. anyway Zonekiller i'll test your script later and have some fun with it

    yikes... SQS? this is SQF lol _nr1 must become nr1 as i showed you in my previouse example,, and make them publical as i did.. then just put the hint command on the trigger alpha PS: i wanna correct myslef before someone else do ;p I meant publcvariable and not publcalvariable

    yes it creates a circle with radius 50000 meter.. should be the hole map.. not sure.. but i think its big enough.. if you place a empty unit on the map.. example "stryker ATGM" then change this EAST to ANY <table border="0" align="center" width="95%" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0"><tr><td>Code Sample </td></tr><tr><td id="CODE"> TriggerOne setTriggerActivation ["ANY", "PRESENT", true]; now you no longer need 2 trigger for west / east.. ANY is all.. you'll see that the stryker is also counted.. no i dont know any guides. maybe ther is a ofp guide you can read. since the basic commands are verry much the same. "that what i hear people say, but can not conferm it. since i didnt play ofp".. i only used the wiki to learn to script.. and im still a noob myself. if you want to learn this language hang around the forum and visit the wiki verry "verry" often.. there are few examples ther too.. also look at ohers scripts. simple scripts.. PS: what i have shown you will only count the classes.. not units. so i cant tell how it will work if ther is people in the vehicle. i dont know if they are counted,,

And i have also the defination included at the top of the file. <table border="0" align="center" width="95%" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0"><tr><td>Code Sample </td></tr><tr><td id="CODE"> #define ST_PICTURE 48 i have also tryed to change the picture with a trigger "radio" <table border="0" align="center" width="95%" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0"><tr><td>Code Sample </td></tr><tr><td id="CODE"> ctrlSetText [106, "pic\test1.jpg"]; to see if a picture was set then,, but Noo. nothing, what am i missing? do the file need to be *.paa or something? or pherhaps a sertan size?

  24. hmm i been trying to.. and i get the same problem.. the unit "AI" wount put the weapon on the back.. A) we both are doing it totaly wrong b) ther is a bug in arma.. i hope some other people try this out to.. i added the function in a trigger.. and when i trigger the trigger i see the unit Kinda moves a bit.. its like he wants to put the weapon on the back but cant.. i tested with a singel unit and a player.. i tryed all behaviours too.. nogood.. something is fishy!
  25. i have tested with RGB 8 bit per channel and a resolution of 72 dpi.. and size 128x128 and 256x256.. my paa files are 256x256 oh.. btw i forgot to tell.. to test my script.. put a styker on the map.. and in its init feald put nil=[this] execvm main.sqf
