Arma3: Metascore 73 | Spelunky: Metascore 91 | what the fuck?
nuxil replied to alleycat's topic in ARMA 3 - GENERAL
i usually dont care about thouse scores myself, but i have to say. in this case.. its indeed bollox. A game released without a campain. lack of content, vehicles with clone turrets. same uav on both side. same static weapons, gosh, and the list goes on. To me. it looks like this person who wrote the review of the game is a fanboy without a objective eye. Imo it should have received a score way below average. Dont get me wrong. i like the armaverse. i just dont think aram3 was ready for released at the current state. -
where are the viking helmets ??? jk.. great work. the pilot sute may be wrong. but since this game takes place in the future. there are some room for creativity, not everything needs to be 100% accurate. i actually like the white sute. :)

You need to get Battleye working with Rcon's before you even try getting Bec to work. what you have now is a typical issue of not configuring battleye corretly. http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?95454-RCon-server-administration-coming-to-ArmA-2! -

its usaly caused by your BeServer.cfg file has wrong extensions, ie. it will error if it ends with: .cfg.txt or .txt.cfg -

well. i think the problem is he said he read the install guid, but i doubt it. errors is self explained, if you open up the config dir and check whats there and whats in your config.cfg file. i am almost willing to bet 10$ that. in your config you have this. [bec] .. .. .. Admins = Admins.xml but in your config directory. the file is named Admins_Example.xml -

yes, remove the rss plugin -
@Zhenpo there seems to be some confusion here. the Admins.xml file is for Bec. if your using Bec and got problems with it, then use the Bec thread. if youre not using Bec, this file is not needed. and ignore my lines. yxman posted the correct answer in that case

i doubt it a firewall issue since you can not use other rcon tools. when you use the statup parameter. "-bepath=C:\Games\arma3\battleye" for your arma launch. make sure there is BeServer.cfg in that path, C:\Games\arma3\battleye\BeServer.cfg also make sure you can see a file called. BEServer.dll in that directory. then in Bec's config use the same path. like BePath = C:\Games\arma3\battleye also make sure the file C:\Games\arma3\battleye\BeServer.cfg has the needed info ."RconPassword" set -

If using beta patch, make sure that battleye is supported. verify with another Rcon tool that you can login. if that is ok, then do a check on the firewall rules. -

well. sorry, i cant help you much. double check that its started as admin. "make a shortcut of bec, edit target like with -f blah.cfg. then right click on shortcut and select. run as administrator". this problem is usally caused by permission issues. -

@ SCE_The Fuzz could be many resons. if you can. and are not using multihoming. set your ip to the loopback "127.0.0.1" also check your firewall settings. it could also be a result of Battleye autoupdating. or there is already 5 Rcon's connected to your server. @DaMuTz without looking at your settings file. i have no clue. check that you didnt fuck up any indentation. python is verry picky about this. check that the Variable SERVERS is set correct. SERVERS = ["my_armaXserver.cfg"] or, armaserver = "my_armaXserver.cfg" \\ SERVERS = [armaserver ] do you see it load at all? does it load but dont connect ? sorry but more info needed to be able to help you.. -
yes i might mix up persistent stats/rankin and achievements. but imo "they both sit in the same boat" however, as you say. this would just for fun and is not some uber serious in game rank system. if its not seriouse and has no real meaning. why implement it. cant you have fun in a usermade mission which implements this? all this can be done in missions. and nothing is stopping you from saving your stat/hits or whatever you want to your own database for a firerange or other missions for that matter. i just dont like the achievements idea. some do, good for them. but im not a big fan of it.
-
There are several rerasons, How to implement it, What should it be for?. (weapons, medals etc), Weapons achievements would the worst ever as you restrict players, you will just noobify new players with less powerfull weapons. Would it popup during gamplay?. (you are awarded with this awesome stupid achievements that has no meaning!) If you like achievements for walking the longest distance, 100+ kills , etc. This can already be done by the mission maker(s). Another reason, The dev should focus on other things than stupid achievements ingame. The game has such a bad performance and other issue that should be Pri 1, and i dont want to see the devs spend time on something idiotc as achievements. So in fact all the achievements you want can be done by the mission maker or mod's, so if you really want this why not just do it yourself. Steam api for achievements is just a bad thought, I dont think you really had a good thought about it espessialy for Multiplayer. Lets say there was a achievements for 100 kills. whats stopping me from making a script that just sends guided bullets to all players or ai.? basicly nothing. It also brings unessescary stats hores to the game. which we dont need. For single player. they could just same method as they did in Oa. no need to mess around with Steam Api for it.
-
The message speaks for itself. does it not? if your in a hurry. go to battleye.com and grab the needed dll file and update manually. else you have to wait until you can connect to BE Master again.

Can two players operate a single uav together?
nuxil replied to progamer's topic in ARMA 3 - QUESTIONS & ANSWERS
I have not downloaded the latest dev build where the uav's are included. however. if the vehicles has 2 positions. 1 driver and 1 gunner. Then yes. you should be able to do it. If not by default, you can always make a small cfg addon where it has the nessecary cfg values. But first, you can try to do is this before you start making a addon. player1 moveindriver uav; player2 moveingunner uav; Only place the uav on the map. dont sync it with a terminal or however its done in arma3. i would try to see if its possible by script before i try to make an addon since it has it downside. every player on your server would need this addon. -
achievements in arma3. oww. what a horrible thought. if bis does this. they might as well sell their soul and go for a fully Bf/Cod style game. im not happy about the game atm. please dont make me more unhappy. "no joke"

BattlEye doesn't find BEServer.cfg - even if it is set up
nuxil replied to Der Regulator's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - Servers & Administration
if you see that the BEServer.cfg changes names as you do. it means BE is using the file. Now you should Doublecheck this file. open it up and see if the 1st line contains this. RConPassword Secrect. if it does. it means youre good to go. About the Bec message missing the -f switch. it meens that you need to use -f file.cfg Like : Bec.exe -f BecConfig.cfg and its not related to Battleye.
