Oh yes it is. I don't suffer waste of HD space like the OP described. It solves the problem for you personally it doesn't solve the problem with the workshop though. :D -

Don't use the workshop man. It's really that simple. I'm running currently 90 GB of MODs none of them subscribed to the workshop. I just did it the old way before ground breaking Steam took over. I have had no problems nor double folders from workshop, no nothing. Why is it so hard to do it manually like before is beyond my understanding for being honest. But hey if you're happy with how the workshop works by all means go ahead, I stick to the old way. cheers -

Yeah why the hell Bi removed the text possibilities of triggers and way points is beyond my understanding. I used a lot game logics to display text and radio messages which is not possible anymore. Really I don't know why they removed that. If it's not broken just leave it. But no way they had to remove it and I really would like to know why they removed it. cheers -

I've checked it out as well. Indeed on long distant ranges no bullet impact is to be seen. Seems that dust particles are not rendered beyond 100 game meters. Moreover the dust particle around 50 m looks already very weak and transparent. Don't know how to describe it. On Chernarus no dust particle on grassy terrains. As a matter of fact zeroing in for snipers becomes problematic maybe pure luck I would say. cheers -

Hi everyone I just checked the terrains no problem to run them for me I can open every single terrain without errors and I'm running only CUP without CBA. This must be a corrupt download or install on your side. I have no problems to run them. cheers -

I thank you for your kind invitation, but I really don't know how to help you guys. I'm not a modder and I've never been part of a modding team due to RL issues. To be of any help I would need some modding or addon making skills which I do not have. My understanding of configs and all the rest which you guys know, is practically non existent. First and last attempt of terrain editing dates back to OFP times with wrptool. I would need to learn everything from scratch to help with the Islands. Furthermore I'm not reliable due to real life issues which we all have. I dedicate my time to ArmA only when I can and lately that wasn't very often. I was absent from the forum since ArmA 3 went Alpha I got ArmA 3 for 1 month now and I still have to discover a lot of things which are different to ArmA 2. I would be rather a hindrance then a valuable asset. Trust me on this. I'm sure of your understanding. I try to support you guys as much as I can because I'm a big fan of UNSUNG and you guys. But I'm looking forward to do some ArmA 3 UNSUNG multiplayer from time to time. cheers -

Hi eggbeast I trust your judgement on this. I checked especially Lowlands, SEA and IA Drang Valley. I couldn't find anything wrong with it for being honest. I went to the more steeper places on lowlands but didn't see any white triangles. Also SEA Visually it's impossible for me to determine if there's double vegetation. I took a short video on all 3 islands I encountered some white artifacts only on IA Drang as you will notice. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SufKZ788_v8 I took also a look at the tool Dimitri posted. It should be possible to unwrap the islands with it. Well in any case good luck. BTW I tried also the AA UNSUNG islands. That was a major disaster from start. Heavy flickering and artifacts all over the place. I did import successfully two Armed Assault terrains into ArmA 3 which is Sahrani Winter and Schmallfelden, both terrains work without problems without me doing anything. I still find it encouraging. With a bit of work it should be possible to bring the UNSUNG 2.6 Island to ArmA 3. The Island included in A3 UNSUNG is really beautiful. My kudos. Cheers -

I checked on every map the save game. Nothings wrong here on my side. Did verify my cache integrity after messing around so much and it works on all maps with Cup terrain. No more problems here. Try to verify you cache integrity and retry the save on SEA. I couldn't detect anything wrong. The only map which has problems IMHO is Cao Bang: I'm encountering heavy flickering and artifacts on my screen. It's the only terrain which does not work from scratch. cheers -

I've tested a bit more. The save game issue seems to be related to the cup terrains at least for me. I can't even manual save it's greyed out. Did the same thing with AIA terrains and the save game works perfectly. -

hi everyone. Happy new year. I have encountered a strange thing. I don't know if it's only me and if this has been reported haven't read the whole thread. No auto save game is working with the cup terrains even the manual save is greyed out for me. Can someone please check this and deny or confirm. Would like to know if it's only me or is it a flaw in cup terrains. Thanks and keep up this great work. cheers :) -

I actually just tried these terrains since I have quite a lot of unfinished missions most of them 80 % done for UNSUNG 2.6. In case the terrains can be ported to ArmA 3 I can release the missions also for ArmA 3 rather than only ArmA 2. That was my main curiosity in a first place. I have to check on the saveGame bug. I actually experienced it also on the Mogadishu map. The auto save game is corrupt on the terrain, because on other terrains it works without problems. I still haven't done any serious testing. I personally believe that it's possible to use these terrains with some work. Naturally it's up to the UNSUNG team they know their priorities but it's definitely encouraging. BTW how did you load the terrains did you use the whole UNSUNG 2.6 mod or only certain pbo's? Happy new year. -

Ponds got fixed I gotta love you guys. Sorry I'm late to the party Just got ArmA 3 recently. fantastic work you guys are doing. I've loaded some UNSUNG 2 maps with Cup terrains. Works perfectly only on 1 Unsung map there was a little flaw for the rest it works outright of the box. Thanks for your effort and hard work you are doing. Wish you all a happy new year cheers -

Yeah It seems ages ago. the Sebnam pack was the first OFP mod I have run at that time . . . before that I always played vanilla. LOL I still remember how excited I was. I was switching back and forth between OFP and Vietcong. Back to SebNam because I was missing the liberty and freedom OFP offered. Vietcong was a nice game but OFP was just simply the better game especially the Nam version was special to me. -

ehrm I wasn't referring in old as age. I was referring to you as an old timer to the franchise what you surely are. Hahaha. Thanks for sharing the Wiki it was a good read. I remember Warrior X campaign for OFP. Jesus you guys have come a long way. Good to see the main core members still being part of it and good to see new members filling the ranks. BTW I hope you guys don't mind me tinkering around with your Arma 2 terrains a bit. I was just curious because I love the terrains so much. I have fond memories and still play them in ArmA 2. Well you better prepare yourself to be patient. The ArmA 2 UNSUNG Mod was huge in content and it will take a long time to port over all the assets let the guys work on what they already have. This is a huge undertaking for sure. As a total modification it will take a long time to get it done I really don't know how much time it took the team to get UNSUNG for ArmA 2 to it's current status but I believe it took quite some years and I think it's an understatement for sure. Patience my friend . . . patience. @ warcriminal VTE was the main Vietnam MOD back in OFP if I'm not wrong. The UNSUNG changed that from Armed Assault on. maybe some of the old team members like Savage can enlighten you. cheers -

Hi guys I did some more experimenting on the old UNSUNG terrains. I was able to load this time IA Drang Valley and DakTo as well. I used Cup Terrains this time which is the main project worked on. Cao Bang is the only map which has a small flaw there's a bush or a tree which is causing heavy flickering. Cup terrain fixed also the ponds on Mondkalb's MBG Nam terrain. I did some testing with AI navigating roads apart from the known flaw with bridges the AI is capable of navigating the terrains without too much hassle. Bridges are critical the AI sometimes will pass sometimes they get stuck. Can't say anything about bullet penetration and other technicalities for the time being. I got in touch with TeTeT and forwarded the pbo list I used. congrats to all the work you guys are doing. As a long time fan of the UNSUNG I wish you guys all the best and good luck in this huge endeavor in bringing UNSUNG to ArmA 3. cheers -

Yeah I know. It was a first try. I need to do more testing especially with the CUP terrains. hadn't had the chance to do it for the time being, gonna report back when tested. The only thing I actually did was only loading them into Arma 3 that's it. cheers -

Yeah It could be. I wasn't able to test thoroughly though. This was the first try ever to get those terrains loaded into ArmA 3 and it worked with less troubles than I've anticipated. I still need to do extensive testing. I'm already glad that I could get the terrains loaded. I will give more feedback once I've done some more testing. cheers :) p.s. Bullet penetration is actually implemented in ArmA 3 watched a video about it I'm quite impressed so therefore it should be possible. I don't know if it works with these terrains though. -

Hi guys I have some really exciting news. I did some testing and I ported most of the UNSUNG A2 terrains into ArmA 3 together with AIA. I believe I'm still missing pbo's which contains stuff needed for the terrains. I had no error messages popping up. Runs out of the box. I'm sure I'm missing some, couldn't get Ia Drang valley to work. Now what could be done is to create a standalone addon for arma 3 with all the terrains in case you guys agree to do such a thing. We would need to contact every terrain maker and get their approval. If someone of the UNSUNG team is willing to cooperate in such an endeavor We could extract all terrain relevant pbo's and get only the terrain related items and re.pbo them to work as a standalone. Now please bear with me You guys have invested years of hard work into UNSUNG ArmA 2 and the result was like "oooohhhhh yeeeeaaahhh". The community has moved over to ArmA 3 and it pains me to see all these beautiful creations laying waste so to speak. Since the ArmA platform allows you to do pretty much everything that comes to your mind it would be really great to get this little project done. Since I have no modding experience I suck at reading rpt files with that I need help. Moreover can't find the UNSUNG skype channel does it still exist? Cheers See you in the jungle :681: p.s.
