Opf engine based photography 3 -no pics > 100kb

US Army Special Forces overlooking a car checkpoint on Tonal Island: (Click to enlarge) BAS Tonal Island, HYK Infantry, CBT HMMWVs and Bradley, weapons by BAS and Inquisitor, LlauMax Sky (I think) and some Photoshop; No dxdll so I could use full scene antialiasing.

    M4A1 Pack

Yes, that's the way the sight is supposed to be mounted, I just think it should be a bit larger, like on this picture: The same applies to the flip-up rear sight, it has to be larger - remember that it needs to be (nearly) as high as the front sight when it is flipped up. Imho, the pictures with all the SOPMOD accesoires show some parts in a wrong scale.

    M4A1 Pack

On that M4, you should remove the M203 leaf sight on top of the handguard because that sight can be mounted on weaver rails only and there are none on that handguard. Also, that rifle already has a sight for the M203 mounted on the side of the carrying handle. For the colors, I think you could try to make them look thicker, for example by making the markings on the guns less visible as if they were covered by paint. Oh, and maybe you could add vertical foregrips on the other M4s, these are very common in Iraq and Afghanistan on M4s. Apart from that, the weapons look great - although a lot of M4s have been released, these could be best.

  6. I think I can agree on that even without having it downloaded - looks simply great, can't wait to test it ingame.

    Y2K3 Version 7.3

I tried downloading the setup file twice, with two different download managers from the ofp.info ftp servers, but everytime the setup complained the file was corrupted... Does anyone know what might be causing this?

    War against terror

What I know? I know that Balschoiw came to the message board on sondereinheiten.de , tried to convince the people there of his story, failed (because he was caught lying) and then deleted his posts and left as quickly as he came there.

    War against terror

Come on... he claimed that he was recruited by an completely unknown, top secret international unit when he was only 19 or 20 and serving as a private (without any special forces training). Then he claims that unit has it's operational HQ at Bad Reichenhall where members from sondereinheiten.de have served for years and noticed nothing. Then, there are the pictures he used. They were indentified on February 6th as pictures from the homepage of Gebirgsjägerbataillon 232 taken in the Kosovo, and only after that, Balschoiw admitted the pictures were not taken in Afghanistan.

    War against terror

OK, let me try. Someone posted the pictures and the english text taken from militaryphotos.net . On the first two pages, discussion was about the authenticity of the photos. Some claimed them to be faked, others said they might be real, but showed mountain troops (Gebirgsjäger) outside Afghanistan (which we now know is the case). Then, on the third page, Balschoiw (who wrote the original text posted on mp.net ) claimed he was no longer serving under Bundeswehr command, but was attached to an international anti-terror unit directly under UN command - I can't say exactly, because he deleted his posts afterwards. Nobody believed him, because there were users like "SFC" who had been stationed where Balschoiw had claimed to be the operational center of their unit (Bad Reichenhall) and second, because from what he told, he must have been a 19 or 20 years old private without any special training when he was recruited by that unit. Then, one user found the pictures Balschoiw posted here (that's around page 6). After that, Balschoiw did not post again and the thread drifted off.

    Tank question

Got you pics, directly from the DVD: So actually, there seem to be more different tanks in that episode, first picture seems to be a Jagdpanther, second and third show some kind of Sturmgeschütz, probably a Sturmgeschütz III, Assführung E or F, then there are several halftracks, one of them with the AT gun, another howitzer and the tank hiding behind the barn, which seems to be some kind of Tiger to me.

    Equipment carried on missions

You can't take movies like "Tears of the sun" as an example. When you take a look at the typical loadout of special operations forces on long range reconnaissance missions like the SAS did in the second Gulf War or german KSK in Afghanistan, every soldier will be carrying more than 80 pounds of equipment - water and food, material for building observation hideouts, radio equipment and batteries, ammo, explosives, extended medical equipment(one team member will always be a medic), AT weapons - all depending on the type of mission. On a mission in an tropical environment where it won't get cold even at night, you won't need a sleeping bag or warm clothing, but that's about everything you can spare. Maybe you won't have to carry too much water, either, but then you will have to use make sure you have the time to use water filters or chlor tablets. Mercedes Bens 290GD released

Which size do you need them? And do you need military or civilian plates?
  14. I'm sorry to say that. but I'm not really impressed... It starts with the pictures in the first post over in that ofp.info forum's thread - all of them old, some don't even show KSK soldiers... not a good base to show the current weapons and equipement used. Then, the weapons don't seem to be overly impressive, either - to be honest, some of that AWM (G22) versions look somewhat ridiculous (flecktarn camo painted scope, NSV 80 night vision device mounted above the scope, missing bipods, ...). Worst thing is, throughout that thread, you keep talking of all that top secret features, your support from soldiers and KSK commandos - Â i don't see any good from that.

    Y2K3 - Updated Ofp Config.

Thanks, "-nomap" did the trick. I'm just wondering why it worked on my older computer without, the graphic cards were nearly the same (Radeon 9700 vs. 9800 Pro).
