The least relaxing place for me is in my kitchen, trying to prepare a bowl of cereal. I'm putting the finishing touches on a 1on1_DM map, and I want to incoporate a Zone where a player gets 1 (one) point for every minute he holds it (or possibly 30 seconds - will be adjusted after trying it out) The two players are named "w1" and "e1" and the zone is adeptly named "the_zone" What would the script be? I hope someone could help me, or at least give me some pointers... Thanx in advance...

It would be neat if someone could create a map specifically for one-on-one scenarios, with a lot of civilians in strategic places so the rest of us could watch... Here's the idea anyway, and its up for grabs...

Even though they might not be "oficially" tortured, you can bet your a** they will be. And the whole points is, as placebo said, that two wrongs don't make a right. If you want to brand yourself as more human than the terrorists, dont terrorise them. And I didn't say in my first post that 9/11 wasn't terrorism, although I can see it might come out that way, if you really want to put words in my mouth. It's amazing how it's impossible for some people to see things from different viewpoints. As for the killing of 3000 innocents....well, let's just say that the so called "civilized" western world isn't beyond this, and never has been. Can anybody say "Dresden"?

Hmm Let's say you took part in a US military operation, that the other side decided to brand as terrorism (take for instance the US shooting down of Iraqi airplanes), and you got captured...wouldn't you want to have some human rights? And get this straight, I'm not saying 9/11 wasn't terrorism, or that the Al-Queda are the nicest people on earth. But I think that dragging them kicking and screaming through the streets wont do anybody any good. (Remember the US soldier in Somalia?) Bring them before the internatinal war tribunal in Haag. That's what it's there for.

This has to be a truth with modifications. All logic states that if the ground can be raised, then trenches of some sort are possible. All that is needed is a bigger patch of land that is raised above sea level, and inside that patch of land, some ditches. If you can make mountains and valleys, very small flat mountains and very small narrow valleys should also be possible, if this makes any sense. And voila! Trenches... P.S. I hope no one votes for a Quad, or I'll find him and LAW his sorry a**...

The map shouldn't be too big first of all. It should contain various kinds of terrain within a confined area. Respawn should perhaps be made so that both players start 'over' (maybe there should be 3 different starting points) when one is killed. Simple deathmatch, one point awarded for a kill. Spectators should be disallowed from leaving the spectator areas (instant death if they do) so as to not interfere with the game. Likewise, players should be punished (a point subtracted) if they kill spectators. Standard weapon types, M16/Ak47, M21/SVD, LAW/RPG, nothing fancy. Few vehicles/air. Maybe one tank, one chopper for each player. Non respawnable, but repair/reammo/refuel trucks for each. Likewise one "hospital" for each player. Safe, but small, respawn zones. Daytime, not too bad weather. What else?

Here's a suggestion: Foxholes....this would add to the realism of the game, giving you stronger protection when holding a strategic position. The fortresses are not at all satisfying in this game. Or maybe it's just because I'm a complete idiot at using them. They seem to offer no advantages...if you want to fire from them anyway. And here's the question: Why is rank not showing on uniforms in OFP? Â If team-tags can be implemented, rank shouldn't cause too much of a problem. It's d*amn hard to identify your co, unless he happens to be wearing a silly hat. Getting a message like "Follow 1" leaves you at a loss when playing in veteran mode.
