PMC and ACR were all unique content? OK.
-
Read pettka's post. He does not promise that missing content will ever be added. He says 'maybe' but no promises. Also charging for missing content is a mere speculation nothing else. After all BIS has never sold content previously available as a DLC. Never.
-
Oh man - so now when this touched the stuff you people care about - suddenly it's not "vitriol"-comments from some crazy minority anymore? Even though "overreacting" was nothing but an observation of the game missing a ton of content a month before release and realistic prediction of a month not being enough to finish anything? Wait till they start selling some of that cut out content as a DLC. After all BIS is a business and any content added past the final release of a game is basically done for no income whatsoever. And businesses are about the income.

So considering that ArmA3 got unrealistic movement (that includes turning in prone speed), vastly simplified medic system and no notable penalties for carrying absolutely unreasonable weights while also ditching any mention of 'simulation' in relation to ArmA3 - that other direction (during which the opposite to all of the above was promised) must have been really bad. Exactly. And this isn't just about the campaign. If it was only campaign split into 3 DLCs released who knows when and in which state - I personally wouldn't be upset much.
-
Yeah except the island is still Lemnos just with a different name just like CSAT is still iranians and AAF is still greeks. Just by a different name. You would recreate, provide voice-overs and debugging for those in a few hours? OK. But also don't forget to add stuff like challenges and firing drills to that. You mean like ACR DLC? They released it in a horrible state and haven't patched it since and it's been a year. Or ArmA1? Which suffered from exactly this kind of mismanagement of ArmA3 where BIS binned everything that was made and started anew with 1 year till release. As a result the game had dull campaign and subpar content. Which they later expanded in patches (or free DLCs as they are called now). But it didn't help the game at all. And now this happens once again. Why would they release a final game with broken AI then? Why would they cut out stuff and simplify the game, make sides mirror each other - until ArmA3 only remotely resembles ArmA game if they care? Or why are they telling us this only now? Not a year ago? And yeah there are positive changes in ArmA3 but for every positive change there are two negative ones. And I know that my opinions can differ from yours, especially when you don't know that ArmA was better before or don't accept the complexity of original OFP/ArmA gameplay and is happy with the current state of ArmA3 which is more like an arcade shooter on big maps now.
-
No they are releasing it as episodic content because they didn't have a finished campaign to begin with and this only means they've started developing it months ago - since after all there will be months of wait for the remaining episodes. Episodic content also means that the campaign will be very short and rushed since they are forced to push it out in short portions. And the time that could've been spent on making campaign actually good and finished was spent on showcases most of which are really subpar and play like an action packed arcade shooter. But you can keep flinging insults around even though it's BIS' fault - since it appears insults is the only thing 2013 ArmA community is good at.
-
So wait - releasing it after final game is already bad - but it will be an episodic content to boot? Play for 3 hours, wait for 2 months and forget what even happened due to waiting? Seriously BIS, just stop. Please just stop. This will be the worst BIS campaign ever. What a trainwreck.

I don't have any continuous climb of the rifle. I just push the mouse the other way which is in-game representation of a soldier applying counter-force to a weapon. Go to youtube and you can find dozens of videos where people who don't do that have their weapon up into the sky. And before you go "well durr soldier in the game should do that" - but by the same logic I can easily say "soldier should aim and shoot targets all on his own too". It's just as legit gameplay element as aiming and shooting.

Dude it's MX with bipod attached and a different stock. And yeah it has the semi-auto switch
-
So does that mean that at one point in time ArmA3 was going to continue moving a simulation way but then priorities shifted?
-
Need to make up your mind. Thanks for calling me a liar.

I think because of the ton of the issues with AI we are forgetting another important one that now makes AI even more harmless. New stance system. AI can't use it and it will always be exposed whereas a player will have a really easy time killing AI by just exposing little more than a weapon. I bet there are people who've noticed this among you.

Like VBS2. Well dayum. These 2013 casual players can't even decide if VBS2 is a simulator or an arcade game! And of course nobody must have an option to have suppression effects. Because everybody must play ArmA exactly the way a dude who never played it wants it.
-
Since when simulators are 100% realistic or not games? For whatever reason you seem to be calling a complex game "a simulator" and a dumbed down game "a game". And FYI BIS is calling ArmA3 a milsim www.arma2.com Whoopsie!
-
Thus far they have been pleasing casual players almost exclusively. There's no balance when ArmA3 ditched so many realism features and they aren't coming back let alone new ones.
-
Yes renaming stuff takes years.
-
They just don't get it. All they can do is throw childish insults "you have no skill! you suck!" and talk about how suppression fire is unrealistic which makes me laugh. Especially considering that people who oppose suppression fire even as an option are mostly deathmatch-respawnvive players and then they talk about realism. Jeez. Don't you get it people? if it will be an option it won't even touch you. You will be able to show your leet call of duty 'skills' (of respawning every 7 seconds) all you want at your random deathmatch server shootbox.
-
Jeez there would've been an option to turn it off (just like in VBS2), it wouldn't even touch any of you yet you keep opposing it like it will somehow prevent you from frag-grinding on your random deathmatch server or whatever.

Except the cutting out of the campaign to release it who knows when is just another big event in the miscommunication trainwreck that has been going on for many months now. The fact that we've learned about campaign being gone from release not from an official dev statement in official sources but from 3 seconds in 17 minutes long video in a german mag one month pre-release added to all other things we've learned like that is revolting. This isn't even the first time BIS does that. This can be forgiven for a modder doing something in his free time for free. But when a professional company that gets paid for their products does it again and again - how can you let this slide? Honestly? Which I did a week ago: http://feedback.arma3.com/view.php?id=12029 It's exactly the same issue as ArmA2 1.62 had and that was fixed in 1.63 beta. I've also asked several times if the fix was merged but there has not been any dev's response. And I do not attempt to discuss it here. But this is what silence does and I'm more than happy to discuss it in AI thread.

I'm glad for you that you can accept the butchered game that only remotely resembles ArmA as it is. However I don't think anybody from my "camp" asked you or other people who complain about us to support us. Move along, keep enjoying the game, let the people who have issue with what BIS is doing have issue with what BIS is doing.
-
MX SW is exactly the same weapon as MX + bipod Yet MX still can't accept 100 bullet mags and MX SW still has no semi-auto fire When will this get fixed?
-
What about the turn speed limit? It's been 12 years. It's time to get rid of it.

If they did - the improvements would've been there before the last week or two. Is that some kind of an excuse for DayZ getting all the best gameplay stuff? Maybe because BIS is releasing an unfinished buggy product that is missing a ton of promised content apart from campaign and it may never be added into the game? Maybe because if 3 years weren't enough to finish a campaign - another month or two won't help it either and it will end up being a mess?
-
Yeah but if you know how broken, blind, suicidal and slow AI is in ArmA3 - the question is how they can call the game final when AI is still that bad? If BIS really cared about fixing AI they would've started doing it years ago or at least when alpha was out, not a month before release. What's worse AI in ArmA3 still doesn't have critical AI fixes applied from OA 1.63 beta - it will have an AT weapon but instead of using it will run around enemy APCs never firing and instead getting killed by that APC. they keep getting improvements to the wounding system, attachments with exchangeable slots incl. bayonets and we are stuck with dumbed down instaheal FAKs and different models of weapons needed for underbarrel launchers and bipods.

I don't think anybody really cares about underwater. Gameplay-wise it's not well done. And everyone has exactly the same underwater gun and SDV. PhysX itself is poorly implemented with a ton of potential for it wasted since cars have no gearboxes, surfaces make no difference (it's road or no road). Glass just falls down through the ground and disappears. Ragdoll looks like something from 10 years ago. And all that potential for wind that you can have with it. Possibly even hardware calculation of ballistics saving CPU power
