Vista Troubleshooting Thread: The one and only
mr.g-c replied to sickboy's topic in ARMA - TROUBLESHOOTING
Another average 4-6 FPS more i got when i closed my Vista sidebar and disabled the AERO features of Vista, before starting to play. Also window-mode is a big FPS killer, so play it in Fullscreen. System is a old Athlon 64 3700+ 1mb cache @ 3000MHZ, GF9600GT Geforce 174.74. The results (4-6 FPS more) are huge on such a old system.... -
great thermal sights..... looks pretty cool.... Regards, Christian

You dig out a topic from 2003? There is a newer Topic from 2007/2008 regarding the system specs of (now named) Arma2. Regards, Christian

Ohh sorry.... my bad.... ok then of course you're absolutely right. Anyway its never bad to download the openAl installer and check if its really updated.... Best Regards, Christian

As i heard, the final non-beta release could be the last Patch for Arma, i thought we could start this thread and suggest some minor tweaks/changes based on the actual 1.09 beta, to be incorporated into the final patch. Please make it as clear and ordered (numbering) as possible so the developers have a easy and clean overview. Suggestion-List: 1. You have already tweaked the M136(AT4) to be more realistic and more like it is in real-life in 1.09beta, exept of the following little tweaks to make it even better: Remove the Smoke-Trail of projectile and alter the sound a bit (just remove the "pfff-sound" from the projectile) and we will have an nearly perfect realistic M136(AT4) 2. Add some radio-noise and distortions to VoIP when you hear speeches from Global and Team-chat. For example the same background noises,as when your team-leader gives you orders or when the famous "Papabear" from the Missions gives you orders. For Direct and vehicle chat it is of course realistic without such radio-noise and distortions.

I wont discuss with you any further because obviously: a) you don't watched the videos i linked b) you take terms in your mouth which usually only coming from very stupid people ("conspiracy myth" is one of them) c) you knowledge is probably based on "Mainstream TV lies" and "schoolbook lies" from lower education levels d) you don't checked the sources by your self (especially the FED's own website from which i quoted the important part) e) and so on... i don't want to waste my energy with people who are obviously such close-minded and which don't get it. Anyway, Best Regards and a very nice weekend, Christian

Truly amazing! However i think it need a bit work so the birds are not so dense and their group should be not so artificial round everytime. Also as someone other already said, the groups of birds should randomized fly into different directions - not only upwards. Just look how nature does it in real life...... Best Regards, Christian

Baff1, you are totally wrong with your postings..... its no secret that its really a fractional reserve banking and that money IS CREATED (out of nothing and without any real backing by a PRIVATE INSTITUTION). Read here for example: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fractional-reserve_banking and especially here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Money_supply Then read this: http://www.newyorkfed.org/aboutthefed/fedpoint/fed45.html And now would you please stop to convince people with your half-knowledge, you confuse people only - accept thats "it's like it is". If you want to educate yourself even more watch these: http://video.google.de/url?doc....ncfI_CA http://video.google.de/videopl....index=2 http://video.google.de/url?doc....xIDrziw And my favorite: http://video.google.de/videopl....index=5 Best Regards, Christian

In 1.12 ist still don't work inside LAN and furthermore: I was with two of my brother connected at the same dedicated Server playing a round of Evolution. As i was start talking with any VON chats-groups, everyone could hear me, except my brothers...... Nice, what....... Hope this gets addressed and heavily tested for the final patch Regards, Christian
-
I don't know exactly but is this the new Field of View we got with 1.12, already back at Games Convention in 2007? Regards, Christian
-
Since 1.12 my brothers and me (though happens very, very rarely) got kicked from servers with the message like "corrupted memory #0" I hope this will be fixed soon, as its really annoying. Best Regards, Christian

I'm sorry but thats not realistic... even the KE penetrator do not bounce off, unless they flew many many miles and thus loosing a huge amount of their kinetic energy. I believe the same goes for the PG7V @CameronMcDonald - its a HEAT round just like the other typical light AT rounds, therefor the picture i posted applies also to them. The only situation i can imagine myself something like this would be when the fuse is broken inside the round. Regards, Christian
-
AT Ricochets? How should that be possible? As soon as they have contact with anything, the fuse ignites the explosives within and then this explosion creates a thin "jet" of hot, fast gases penetrating the armor - thats it.... Regards, Christian

If you mean me, well... I didn't complained with my sentence, i just asked a QUESTION.... If you can't understand english properly then you should lern it.... Wolle, i'm even not a complainer anymore, i'm now a believer So please strip me out from the "usual complainers" list - please Thats rather a answer i want to read to my question. Makes sense actually..... So you think these leftovers are some kind of accidents? My point i was trying to say is that maybe these are no accidents like you trying to say, maybe they are willful "lost" there as some sort of teaser for Arma2/Final Patch, because BIS knows that the addon/modders will find it sooner or later.... Nice theory, isn't it? Regards, Christian
-
I'm not a modder/programmer but i wonder why they don't strip-off such leftovers before making patches available.... Regards, Christian

They are like i told.... Well you know we live hear south of Frankfurt/Germany and my father has some friends from studying times, one of them is actually a member of the board in a international acting investment bank located in Frankfurt and also (what my father calls him) a "financial expert". He is the guy that told it my father and my father told it my family, as we have very often long discussions about the current world situations (we find it the most important thing to be well informed about whats going on). My Personal opinion about this (if someone wants to know it) is mixed between good/bad. On the one hand humanity must be united, because we are all "the same", so i like the idea of a one-world-government/a world with open boarders if we all will keep our country/region-unique traditions and values, because thats what makes it interesting to meet other people from other countrys/explore foreign countrys . On the other hand, what is done currently or what they are obviously trying to achieve is done only for advantages of a worldwide rich and greedy minority + they possibly create bubbles and crashes at the stock markets (there are people suffering from that because they loose their jobs), start new wars, and so on - which is truly not "good". So i have very mixed feelings about this..... i mean we already have it hear in Europe (the EU) and we have a lot of problems with the behavior of the immigrants from south and eastern europe, but only because they are coming from less evolved countrys. If all the countrys in the world, from where they are coming, would have the same level in terms of education, economy, human rights and so on, then this would be no problem at all and "they" could unite the world for gods sake even tomorrow. But reality looks different i guess... Regards, Christian

Well through my familiy we have some contacts with high people (member of the boards) on german investment bank(s), and they have said that the current crisis is artificial made (like the on in 1930) to let the dollar crash (it has lost 98% of it value since 1913) and to implement a new currency. They currently plan to call it Amero and it will be for the US, Canada and Mexico. Later on they will introduce the North American Union, much like the European Union is currently. Thats what was told my Father by a specific guy and he told it me..... After a quick search in google i found this video on Youtube: Edit: Just find this in youtube, worth to Watch!!! and: Well..... no comment.....

AACF SoundMod Version 2.0 released
mr.g-c replied to ONI.au's topic in ARMA - ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
I think its simply the best soundmod for Arma out so far.... Ill never go back to the FDF or other stuff. Never i had this much immersion than with this mod - awesome work. Did improve thing FROMZ was lacking and did the job very well. I also hope the ACE guys will take some of the sounds/reverbs from this mod, rather than from another. (i read it somewhere that ACE wants to take some sound from a soundmod) Best Regards, Christian -
Vista Troubleshooting Thread: The one and only
mr.g-c replied to sickboy's topic in ARMA - TROUBLESHOOTING
OK as i've written a few pages before i had a big FPS drop when moving from XP-Prof over to Vista, even though i installed all newest drivers, vista patches and even SP1. Now as a guy have written in a other thread, i installed the DirectX runtime update from march 2008 and i did get back my missing FPS! Now i could even raise the View distance up to 3000m and having still around 28FPS+ inside the FPS-Killer City called "Bagango". Outside it goes up sometimes up to 60+ FPS when looking at a Mountain for example. Before it was terrible and i had to keep my View distance down to 900m to get frames above 25 outside and 18 inside cities. It playe like a totally new Game when you having the View distance set to 3000m, awesome when having the gigantic Mountains in the background while sneaking through Bagango. Regards, Christian -
The kind of implementation you are asking for is a pretty complex thing, and at least at the moment it is not even under consideration. Perhaps in the future when every other potentially interesting avenue of development has been exhausted. Assuming, of course, that ArmA2 does not do this already and make such a system redundant. Ok thanks for that clarification Sure there are other great aspects out which are even better to work on... Regards, Christian

If someone else has a HL2 as gift, let me know - there are a few cool mods out, aren't there? Regards, Christian

No, i'm at the point that i think we have a slightly different picture about how such a countermeasure system should work. I personally think the "basic" and "fully automatic" Systems like in the OFP mods FFUR and WGL are more then enough. So the AI-part falls nearly completely away. The AI fires the missiles like usual and then there is a randomized probability based on the rocket-type, if the missle take the plane/chopper as target or the deployed flares/chaff. So the AI don't need to be aware of the countermeasure because its automatic. The mentioned OFP mods show it pretty clear and good that it works flawlessly and that it adds a lot of immersion and realism. Regards, Christian
