    Field Gear

I would say it's probably because of good logistics and support. If you have someone there to constantly resupply you, then you don't need to carry everything on your back. Not to mention putting gear in vehicles and containers. For example, I just got here to Fort Campbell, and they are just getting back from a year in Iraq. My company has a bunch of containers, big containers, all full of supplies and stuff. Now, it also depends on your job and where you are, etc. Someone from the infantry is probably going to have to carry a lot more in his rucksack than myself here in aviation. I am in the rear and he is up in the front, so it would be easier for me to get supplies. Another example would be Special Forces. My buddy over at the 5th Special Forces Group was telling me that on some training mission he was carrying a very, very heavy rucksack because he is a weapons sergeant and he was carrying a ton of ammo. Anyways, I hope this might help clear things up. Monty

There is a hell of a lot more Air Force out there than just Pararescue and Security Forces (that's what the Air Force calls their MPs). Just to clear things up. Monty

    BAS Strobe

I never said I wanted one where only people with NVGs on could see it. I just want a strobe, what for, many reasons. 1)Marking an LZ 2)Marking a DZ 3)Marking a target for CAS 4)Identifying freindly troops This is not unlike the "glow sticks" (chem lights) that were put together recently except marking a target with a strobe is much more realistic than using a chem light. Glow Sticks?

Yeah, if people want the chem light right where they are, they can just aim at the ground in front of them. Good work bro, I am anxious to check these things out. Monty

    BAS Strobe

It is the BAS one, lol. I am asking if anyone can make it as an actual addon. Monty

    Glow Sticks?

I have never used a chem light inside an aircraft before, that's what NVGs are for, plus we have "blackout" lights that we use while flying under NVGs. We use chem lights for marking things or we use them as just a source of light. For example, at my last field exercise in Alaska, we used chem lights to mark the different fighting positions along our parimeter. So at night when it was your turn to be on gaurd, you could find the fighting position. Before anyone ask, we marked the back of our fighting positions, facing the inside of the parimeter, don't want to give the position away to the wrong people. Or at night when you are in your tent and it's your turn for gaurd, you could use a chem light to find your gear without having to use a flashlight that might, 1-wake up the others in the tent or 2-make your tent glow from the outside. We try to practice good noise and light discipline when we are in the field. That's why we prefer chem lights over flashlights. Having the ability to throw them is a good idea, I was just curious why everyone was so focused on that. Plus, using them in OFP will be different than using them in the real world. If they are bright enough in OFP, you could use them for marking targets for CAS aircraft and LZs . . . SWEET! Anyways, take care all. Monty

    Glow Sticks?

Just curious why people want to be able to throw these chem lights. I have used a ton of chem lights in my Army days, but I sure never threw one. Not bashing, just curious, I will download it for sure. Good work fellas! Monty

    BAS Strobe

I'm not asking BAS for this you idiot. I am asking if anyone in the community can make one like the one used by the BAS Delta/Rangers. Chem lights or "glow sticks" are nothing like a strobe light. In real life there is no way you would be able to see a chem light if you were searching for a target or an LZ. A strobe light puts off a much greater amount of light. Monty

    Glow Sticks?

I think the amount of glow is right on the money. Good work dude. Can you check out my thread HERE and see what you think? Monty EDIT: That thread I put the link for might be what arcangel is confusing with a chem light.
