Corporal, I don't think it really matters between the MOLLE or the ALICE systems, it's just more work as you've said. Especially as how US units still use alice as well as molle/molle II, and SF units use LBT gear which is somewhere in between ALICE and MOLLE. Seeing that you have the unit's texturing and weapons to contend with you shouldn't have to worry about something as little as that. Also there are many great US infantry/SF units such as WGL mod, all BAS SF operators, INQ soldiers, E&S MARPATs, etc do you think you could use one of the existing weapons? Whether it's INQ's M16 series, E&S MARPAT's M16A4s, or WGL standard M16A2 I think they are all good, already with their own optics plus they would be compatiable with whichever one you chose. It also has a practical side so that there isn't another different type of ammo/weapons type when playing with other units. The fact that you're retexturing and rearming these US infantry is a lot of work, so I figure maybe you could use an already existing weapons pack. Just my opinion. Thanks

MOLLE (Modular Lightweight Load-Bearing Equipment) is a (1999, late 90's issued) recent advancement in load bearing equipment, replacing the older ALICE system. If you look pictures from the WWII to the Gulf War till now you'll notice the web belt has relatively stayed the same, it has metal brackets embended in the belt, etc. The ALICE system involved metal clamp like devices to clip on utility pouches or straps, the MOLLE and MOLLE II systems are instead using nylon straps + buttons to secure to strips of nylon on vests, chest rigs etc, a more "modern" way of load bearing gear for soldiers. Though I personally think it's flawed, under the USMC some have reported the damn things to break down after 2 months.

When I removed the tactevents.pbo from the WGL folder it gave me this message before running OFP: Addon 'SUCHruss' requires addon 'TACTEvents'. I'm guessing the SUCHruss is from the Marine pack, so does that mean I can't use Earl and Suchey's USMC pack with WGL?

Using Earl & Suchey's USMC Pack when I get killed it displays the infamous "TactHeart Beat sound" error. This time I was using USMC pack vs. WGL VDV units. Is there anything I could do to remedy this error, the pack is great but this same damn error just as in the versions before.

Awesome work Footmunch, thanks those birds fly great! One question is there something I can put in the init field so when I place the planes their landing gear isn't stuck down when in flight? Because I can't tell the AI to raise gear, also the gear on the players plane when placed in flight has to select "gear up" twice. Thanks

Strange thing for me is that the mortars or at least the M224 doesn't work when trying to be deployed (could be all of them, haven't tried all just the M224). It displays a rather long error message at the top of my screen. The rest of the pack is perfect, just the mortar issue. The M2 deploys and fires fine. I guess my question would be since most of you aren't having problems is that is this a version issue? I have 1.94 running with ECP's latest version. Please let me know what you think, thanks

Killswitch I stand corrected, the ECP menu function fails to run as it gives me an error message saying some script is missing. This happens every other time I may pause the game, so one time it may work and the other time it doesn't. Unlike last time when I press ESC, the menu is visible everytime though it fails to be accessed every other time or so. Probably just a bug glitch of some sort, seeing as how I followed your directions to the mark. Thanks for the easy steps though, at least now it works.

Also thought to mention there's a bug when using the standard BIS M9 sidearm, when I use the BIS Officer and switch to using my M9, I'm stuck and can only run in place. And I still would like if anyone can tell me regarding my previous post. Thanks

I just downloaded the latest ecp ver., and tried to add the right DR config so I could get the DR sound effects and still have the ECP menu option when pausing the game. But when I replaced the config with the ECP_DR config via application the ECP menu is no longer there. Can someone please tell me which config, and where I can get it so I can use DR while keeping my ECP menu? Thanks

Hey NZXSHADOWS, this bird is kickass. The model, outside textures, is on the mark. Yea like you've said this is like a pre-beta so that explains the "ringing" noise instead of the engine effects. Other then that minor detail everything looks awesome. Thank you and the USMC MOD team for making these great addons and making the USMC shine in OFP.

ok snYpir i downloaded the new version, but it still doesn't open. the same error. but thanks for the info. yea, for some weird reason it doesn't download the file to my desktop, it tries to download the file directly, and then the error message pops up.

Hey Ebud, I loved the first version of this island. But for some reason when trying to download the new version either from CZ or this forum it only lets me download the .rar file directly, and when it finishes it gives me the "could not extract file into temporary folder" sort of message. Is there any site that has the island in a winzip format? I'd really like to play with the current version of the island. The first one was awesome. Thanks

Some time ago I saw some screens for a M1 MBT, 5-Ton Cargo Truck, HMMV w/M2 (all with new animations for gunner positions) and was curious if this project was still on the table. I know the guys at BAS the mod must have their hands full, that and Tigershark's moving and all, but was just curious if they still plan on working on this project. I'm aware some projects like the AH-1W had to be cut due to time constraints and the fact that the USMC MOD will be working on that. And also I just want to mention thanks again to those guys seeing as how they do all of this on their own time for everyone, I still cannot thank them enough for the MH-47E and MH-60 pack especially!

I had question, I saw several posts regarding the "TactHeartbeat" issue. Is this in regards to when you're hit/or die, it displays that error message and freezes the game. Looking at several prior posts I tried using only the WG addons vs. WG addons, and then again with other 3rd party addons, all of which resulted in getting the same error message. Was just curious if anyone else is having the same problem as this.

Ok, removed the dog and haven't had any inflating units yet! Also wanted to mention how awesome it is to have the ability to set up mgs and mortars using a 2-3 man team. I was wondering if you guys were thinking about helping the Invasion 1944 guys on this. Because they tried the same idea with the MG42 and Browning 1914s, but the units are only able to haul the static tripod, mg, but without the ability to actually set it up and fire them. That's one of the first things I noticed especially in this addon pack. Thanks for the help.

This whole addon pack (mod) is awesome. The only real bug that shows up other then the ones mentioned are with Lasers GRU Spetznaz units. Whenever just walking or standing their chests inflate, making it look somewhat odd. I noticed this problem when downloading his units separately awhile ago from ofp.cz. Also with all the East VDV units, all share the same face. But other then these minor things this pack is badass. Thanks again for making another reason why OFP RES is the most modular and kickass game.

Seeing how many addon makers such as Pennywise & Hudson, Vit, Skaircro,Footmunch and countless others have made superb aircraft I was curious if someone would be willing to make a new pilot unit. Â Now I know most think I want someone to recreate the wheel, but I'm talking about a totally new model, not just a newly done retextured helmet. Â Seeing how the magicians at BAS have made the awesome SPH-4 with a working visor and NVGs. Such a configuration of having a HGU-55 Flight Helmet, and with the help of some animations for the visor, and a MBU-12 O2 mask should be possible. Â This unit if made could maybe used as a default pilot for the endless amount of custom aircraft made. Â Also with other people creating HALO missions perhaps a black jumpsuit loadout? Â Just a thought, between BAS, RHS, DKM and countless others I know this is possible. Â But it depends on those who have time, so just to clarify I'm asking, not demanding. Â Thanks Â

I just downloaded the usmc3_beta_retextured units and found all the needed addons except for the P99L done by USMC Sniper. While looking at ofp.cz I did find a P99 done by him, but apparently after I added it into my addons folder it still gives me an error saying I need the p99l after the game starts to the main menu. Apparently there must be several versions of the P99 done by USMC Sniper. If you have this USMC3 pack and have it working with all the addons, please give me a link so I can find the right version. Thank you

I agree with pang if it would be possible using the o2 mask as a option only once in the aircraft. And as for the unit, I wasn't suggesting a g-suit with the hoses sticking out but maybe a retextured version of the SOAR vest (with their permission) emulating a flight/survival vest. I wasn't thinking of anything too complex, especially seeing how OFP2 is officially set for late 2004 which probably translates into early-mid 2005. Seeing as how they will be some time from then until now maybe not a entirely "new model", but maybe a retextured uniform, vest but a new helmet with visor. In other words something that everybody can use for the time being. Looking at any of the BAS pilots we see a completely new helmet, the SPH-4B as opposed to the stock BIS model. So I'm sure quite a few folks out there could morph a HGU-55 with a visor out of that. Thanks
