Few Video Questions.....For those XP users running Nvidia cards -
What do you currently have for the following settings within your Nvidia Control Panal...
Max pre Rendered frames?? I have mine set to 4??
Texture filtering (anisotropic sample) ON OR OFF??
Texture filtering (Neg LOD Bias) ALLOW OR OFF??
Threaded Optimzation ... ON OR OFF??
Triple Buffering ON OR OFF
Vertical SYNC ON OR OFF

Your system should run it fine , I would suspect (as long as you keep the shadows low and anti-lis).
I have an 720 XPS system -
Quad Core 2.4 Ghz
GT8800 Vid Card 512 RAM -
4 GB RAM
I get around 40-44 FPS with shadows low and ANTILIS = OFF
If I turn on ANTI-Lis to low it definitely helps with appearnce.....though knocks FPS down to around 30-35...

So is this the only M4 that is playable in OA (that has a working laser).

It would be nice if there was a word document listing all the weapon types with a standard loadout of ammo for each weapon - That a person could then copy and paste into a given soldiers field when creating their own missions -

Thank you! I used the patrol bldg script - Works quite well, when it works! Though, in OA I've got a couple times "OPFOR BUG MESSAGE CANNOT GO IN BUILDING" ...Or something to this effect??

As someone who just purchased and installed OA / Combined OPs - It is worth every penny! I haven't played the campagin yet....but have done a few of the single player missions (there is only about 7 or 8, it appears)....but have made a couple of quick editor created missions / day and night assaults..... The game / sim is great!

This may have been covered right when OA came out (though I've been looking around and can't find anyting exactly)...
I know you can place enemy AI in bldgs (at the start of a mission, I don't believe). But I thought I was reading PRE-OA-Release that BIS was saying there would be easy ways to script enemy forces to go into bldgs and fight from there....
Is there??
If I use the old UPS.SQF patrol script.....Will this have them enter buildings?

New support mod works great - Though, what is the deal with the A-10's not always attacking? Will they not attack buildings? I have yet to have one take out a building. They seem to fly over head 4 or 5 times but never drop anything.
Motars and Art fire come in.....HARD!

I want to have COMBINED ARMS version - With ARMA 2 & AO - I currently have ARMA 2 installed (CD version). I just purchased and am starting to install AO - My AO version is CD version as well -
It is asking me do I want to install here
C:\Program files\Bohemia Interactive\ArmA 2
IS THIS WHERE I WANT IT to have it COMBINED ARMS...
Or should it be here

??? (not within the ARMA 2 folder)

Few questions from a noob here to ARMA - I'm just about to install OA, later today -
1. Does this script work with OA? (UPDATE - I read the first 20 or so threds first in this...to learn about the script itself.....latest posts seem to suggest there are some problems with OA....got it).
2. I currently use Urban Patrol Script de Kronzky....It works rather well...but this one looks great.
3. Where exactly do I Download the newest / bug free version of this script?
4. From reading through the thred here...it seems this works in much the same fashion as Kronzky's, correct? Simply need to put a code within the "INT" field of EACH group leader I want to follow the script.

Have yet to install OA - Plan to tomorrow - I'm I correct though, that OA comes with the ability to place a new "support module" in user created missions....which provides for easy "CAS"?

As my pre-poster already stated....That AI Addon is a huge framwork for the AI!
If u want to use Zeus AI Addon also - fine.
Since DAC3.0 .... i am sorry to the UpsMon script creator ....Upsmon is outdated.
And yes DAC 3.0 is O.A-able....u only need to edit the units config and add the new OA class names, u want to take part in your battle.
What / How exactly do you edit the units Config?...And where do you add the new "class names".....I'm interested in using this script....but I'm compeltely new to it...

So if I have both CD / boxed versions. ARMA 2 and OA bought from Best Buy - When I install OA....I am going to install to the Bohemia folder which in located on my C: drive and not my ARMA 2 folder (my documents)...Correct.
Is installing to the Bohemia folder the DEFAULT that it looks to install to? As I would assume? I will be installing tomorrow and just looking to make sure I have this right...... I have never seen / read so much trouble as I have with OA...... Though I'm confident when I go to do this I won't have a problem.....Just wanting to make sure.
One more question - Does it make a differnce if I'm only patched to 1.5/1.6 and not to 1.7 currently with ARMA 2?? Or can I just let OA update me to 1.7 when it installs...

this sticky thread is way too long and contains so many confusing posts that it really needs to be replaced with a much shorter thread outlining only what we really need to know in a very simple to understand explanation...locking other posts by folks looking for an easy to understand answer only to point them here is borderline cruel...im so confused at this point myself that i'm not even sure if purchasing OA or CO is worth my time since finding quick and easy answers to some very basic questions can be like pulling teeth here.Can someone please clearly explain (in a new thread) if its even possible to start this game in such a way that ALL missions and content (including addons/mods) from both arma2 and OA will show up in game? In other words if I start the game will i see and be able to select any arma2 or OA mission to play without trouble?

Using the SECOP Module in ARMA 2 - I can hardly ever get CAS to work correctly - I can call for it (via radio command). Works fine. I get the airplanes overhead....but I can never seem to target what I want them to strike..... The radio messages says something to the effect that call for CAS is a go......Paint your target..... it then seems I automatically respond "target painted" (the AI does)......But I can't figure out how to paint the target I want. I thought it was spacebar, or right clicking the mouse on an object / location??

I can't seem to get a simple trigger to work......That isn't part of a way point (at least not with my group)....The group in question (small Sniper team) could have a way point.....But I would rather my unit not need one........ Just a trigger that once I within range they link up with me...

1. Is there a way to cycle ahead in your Waypoints for your group? Say you want to move right to Way Point 4 (skip 2 and 3)...Can you do this? In a manner in which it is recognized by your entire group?
2. I am trying to get a group to Join with my Team once we find them (it is a QRF mission, in which we are looking to meet up and Evac a small sniper team that finds itself in the sh*t, so to speak).
What is the best way to do this? A simple trigger I thought?

Ok. So I purchased OA today (physical CD copy)....Already had ARMA2 installed and playing (again, physical copy, not a Stream).
Questions. When I install OA......Do I need to put all my "mod folders" into OA directory?? Or will they automatically appear when OA is up and running??
Do most weapons mods / skin mods that worked with ARMA 2....Do they work in OA as well?

I just created and ran an Assault Op......And part way in 2 of my 3 fellow teammates laser pointers stopped working? Would not show up. Even when I switched to them and it the "L" key. Would not work.
Is this happening often with others? I'm running ARMA2/OA/ CO...
