Well, it should apply to many of the other areas (with regard to your AI teammates). I sure hope to hell general SA, sighting capabilities, weapons efficiency on some levels.....which definitely should include accuracy levels and ability to put rates of fire on targets continually. If skill ratings do not effect these attributes of your teammates AI (and where appropriate of your own human controlled solider) what the hell is the purpose of a skill ratings to begin with ...

I think the skill rating of a given soilder (be it played by a human or AI) should be automatically reflected in the recoil of a weapon when fired and how quickly you are able to accurately repeat fire / or keep a steady sight on the enemy.

No. I don't believe it is so much to do with your weapon. It is more the lack of SA, that one has when entering a building......Within A2/OA there is just a lack of smoothness (for lack of a better term) there a lack of natural SA (situational awareness of yourself) that is within A2/OA.... I know without question the old R6/RS/RVS all gave you a much better simulation of operating once inside buildings and upon entering buildings.

Another aspect of A2/AO is simply it doesn't have the right "feel" at all when inside buildings and to some degree within towns themselves (even outside of buildings). 1. Why is the feel (viewing) movement just off when entering buildings? It is nothing like the smoothness of say old R6/RS/RVS type games? Not trying to get in a debate here but there definitely is an awkwardness to being inside buildings. 2. The ability / need to have teammates clear structures "together". Entering buildings together, etc.

Here is the problem I see with the new recoil system as is (with no option to turn it off). Reality is there are forces / individuals with differing profiencies with weapon accuracy. Do elite forces in A2/OA have less recoil? Those AI teammates that are rated better? I would suspect so. (and hope so!....if you have fellow teammates rated elite....but you are also part of this unit and how is that reflected??) But lets be honest....When it comes to handling your "mouse" this isn't exactly the same thing as firing a weapon in the least. And if you are part of an elite force (which none of us are in real life) you would have great weapon profiency. Saying learn how to use a "mouse" well / quickly I don't feel is a smart way to try and suggest you are simulating learning to fire a weapon. Perhaps the recoil should be a reflection of what your man's "SKILL" rating is set to?

Yes. I am mostly in "Danger" mode once contact is made - So most of this happens during that Squad AI behavior setting - It seems more so from riflemen than from MG'ers to be honest. I've watched fellow riflemen go through multiple clips trying to hit an exposed target....to where I take two or three shots (max) and take them out. These are engagements within 100-300meters (300 being max). Elevations, (for example try and run Ops in the Naygul Valley, might be mis-spelling there). But I noticed elevations, even slight ones, cause all sorts of accuarcy issues with friendly AI (more so than with enemy AI, it seems).

Hmm. I find friendly AI (your squad mates) to be the biggest issue with A2/OA. They are just tremendously lacking. Becoming stuck, walking into fire, terribly inaccuarte with shots (especially so if enemy elevation is slightly above or below them). I find enemy AI to be better on average than my fellow squad AI. I am constantly having to micro manage them at all times....and even then having to put them on "hold" fire because they will run out of ammo with their terrible accuracy level at times (this is with using both Zeus and standard/default).

What is the deal wtih Vsync and A2/OA ?? First, can't it be turned off via your Nvidia card settings? Not within the game, but within the control panel of whatever video card you have? Should it be turned off?? What effect/affect does it have within A2/OA??

Could you upload a practice mission where this works. So we could see it. One we can look at in the editor without having to unpack/PBO. -
I like the idea of BIS giving the option on the current Recoil. Allow the player to decide (especially when playing SP) if they want the the new Recoil specs...or if they want it turned off...and kept as is.

Can / will the enemy AI (Tak Militia) use IEDs? If you place them in the editor?

With regard to IEDs. Is there a way to have them (1 or 2) just randomly placed when creating a mission in the editor. So that when you play it, you are not aware if / where they will go off. Also, are IEDs in A2/OA....wired, cell activiated or both?

OPFOR - especially in OA sholdn't have body armor - Not something that would be typical for such units - I to believe it takes to many hits to kill enemy more often than not. As it with A2/OA. -
Simple "all enemy dead" trigger?

How would I write a trigger event that simply ends a mission when all enemy are KIA - I know how to place a trigger...Just not sure of the exact "code" to write in the INT: filed? Thanks for any help - Also, what about a simple trigger that gives a "text" notice...once my team is within 10 meters of a dead HVT? (just that we have ID'd him). -
I DL a mission that is suppose to give an example of a misson/w script of the use of a suicide bomber that attacks within the setting of a market place area. Not sure where I DL from? but I cannot seem to get it to work? A script where a suicide bomber will randomly attack. Does anyone know a good script for this? THanks

I belive I've run it two ways. Inside the editor and in the single player scenario section - The only info that comes across is something along the lines of "no target selected yet"....or something along these lines. I've waited quite long into the mission (basically standing and trying to communicate with passer-bys). -

I've dowloaded the sample mission....looked at it, in the editor.... But can't see what exactly it is doing? Or what is the purpose? is it only show one type of patrol? Or is there another sample mission? And I have DL the wrong one? -
I have never used any of the ARMA PBO tools. However, I would like to be able to open a PBO mission.....in order to extract it over to my "mydoc/missions" folder..... So I can open and learn from it witin the editor? What is the simpliest PBO tool for doing such? Thanks for the help.

I know how to open and edit missions that are within the "mydoc/ARAM2/misssions" folder....when using the editor. But how do I open missions that are just within the main C:BIS mission folder? -

There is a difference between SF and SOF. Though more and more (to the displeasure of some witin US Army Green Berets) they are becoming closer and closer alike. With all doing FID type work. SEALs, Delta, Rangers, MARSOC are all SOF......GBs are SF. Still, SOF is more DA with FID as a secondary. Whereas Army SF is more about FID with DA as its secondary. Of course you than have the Tier one Operators of DevGru and Delta. Which are almost completely DA. -
The Naygul valley has to get smoothed out - AI pathfinding is awful - Constant AI getting stuck - ---------- Post added at 03:22 PM ---------- Previous post was at 03:21 PM ---------- Weapons accuarcy issues with regard to differing elevations - If enemy are above or below one's elevations it causes ridiculous low accuracy levels from AI teammates.

Got it. So DL one of the PBO tools. Then extract and cut and paste from there into my missions folder. Got it. What's the easiet PBO tool.
