Shinden, Someone mentioned it above, it would be cool if you could implement some civilian life into the island to give it some more life. And maybe some random insurgents spawning. Just a little request.

Hi there, Yeah duke, I definitely agree, thanks to all the modders. Keep up the great work, this community depends on you. For the mods I just wanted to say that there is many situations in which all the weapons featured in ArmA sound different, depending on terrain, background noise, and other factors like distance of course. I also wish that modders would definitely say that they got their sounds from real life recordings just so that people knew if they are going for the reality aspect or just the ear candy. That would be my request. Don't just say your sounds are realistic and what not, just state that they are from real life recordings. Then us players know that that is what that weapon could sound like in real life in a certain situation.

Never mind, I extracted the wrong folder. My bad, sorry for the unnecessary post. But hey, the mission is awesome. Having loads of fun here. Great job! Thanks a lot. I might actually look into editing just to play with the templates a little.

Hi, This looks like an awesome campaign. Looks very promising. Unfortunately it does not work for me. I get an error right after starting the west demo campaign saying no entry bin\config.cpp/CfgWeapons.MAP_Radio. I thought it might be because I did not have the mapfact radio installed. I downloaded it and installed it and it is still giving me the same error message. I downloaded the MAP_Misc 1.05 and extracted the @Mapfact folder into my ArmA folder and added @Mapfact to the command line of my shortcut along with the other mods I am using (CSM, TrueView for example). I have arma 1.08. Upon mission start it shows the player character's face for a sec, then it says building mission, please wait and then comes the error. I can click ok but that does not do anything. The error message stays up and I have to quit arma with Alt-F4 or task manager. Any help would be appreciated. Cause I wanna try this

hey steven, You just gotta talk to the Officer in the base. He is in the house that is second from the left of the houses you are looking at as soon as you get into the mission. Then he will tell you to talk to the pilot who is also in one of those houses. There you can select an insertion zone on the map, preferably around the area where your mission is going to take place. Or you can load up a truck or a hmmwv with your squad and drive there yourself. So just talk to the officer and select a mission (through your action menue)!

Hi, not sure if this bug has been mentioned. Sometime during the game (only in evolution) there is this error message popping up in the top left corner of the screen saying something like "select man" and something with "skill" or so. The game keeps working normally though. Another thing is that I have gotten some CTDs firing FFAR missiles from the Ah-6 Littlebird. I got CTDs like twice during an attack on Somato as a gunner in a Stryker. The mods I am using are trueview, NWD_ballistics, Chammy's sound mod and this suppression script. Worked fine though until like 2 days ago. Dunno, if the error message and the CTDs are connected.

well, that depends on what kind of role you play, meaning if you are a squad leader, or something more like a platoon leader. Having 30 men just unorganized with three choppers and 4 tanks and what not is more something that would be controlled from a command center. But with the option of calling in the support units, be it air, infantry or whatever, it gives a feeling of better organization. Then you have several squads, each consisting of like 3 fire teams while you are the leader of one squad. I agree with you though, if you move up to platoon level, there will be three squads, so you need more ai under your command.

Hi, not sure if anyone read my post above. I think that 12 men at your disposal is good, but I think there should be the option to call in infantry or armored support or CAS or artillery. It gets kind of unrealistic if you as one man out in the field suddenly have control over like 30 people. You can't even properly control them. 12 under your command is good, that makes for 2 fireteams and two supporting vehicle such as a stryker or hmmwv with a tow launcher or something. Having control over massive amounts of players ends up in more of a strategy game like atmosphere. That's why I think the way it is solved in Mr. N's Dynamic War where you have the possibility to call in infantry support and request a certain location is great.

Kronzky, First of all thank you for making this awesome mission. Playing evolution online is fun, but really frustrating since finding good tactical gamers that are as big of realism freaks as I am is rare. So thanks for the SP version. I just wanted to throw in some suggestions here which imo would make this mission even better. For one thing it would be awesome if you could implement some means of support (i.e. artillery, infantry, etc.) kinda like in Mr. N's dynamic war that could be called in via the radio. It would make the whole experience a lot more life like since imo it is somewhat unrealistic to take a whole city with only 12 men. This would make larger tactical operations possible which would be awesome. Also it would be sweet if there was a little more life on the island itself like some civilians (for performance's sake in small amounts of course) and some random US ai patrols and stuff like that. I am a great fan of this mission, it is about all I am playing besides online. It would be interesting to hear back on my suggestions.

This thread got kinda quiet. I'd like to hear an update, and I think I am not the only one. I absulotely can't wait for this mod. It will make arma what it is supposed to be. Keep up the great work

Insurgency / True combat elite style scopes?

No zoom on aimpoint at all, and you do aim with both eyes open using the aimpoint system. ACOG however you do focus only on the scope so not really a chance for good SA there. I only know it from the G36. It has been poorly modeled in ArmA since in real life it has both an aimpoint system and an ACOG like scope below it. Would be cool if someone could make an addon featuring that. Should not be too hard for someone who knows his way around with modding. All there is to do is put in a aimpoint like in the M4 without zoom of course and a zoom function like with the ACOG on right mouse button or so. -

I agree with tekpc007. The most annoying thing about having to start from the beginning is the fact that you would have to regain your rank. Can't wait to give it a try

Hi, the mod is awesome. The coolest thing is that you took out that annoying zoom on all the ironsights and the aimpoints as well as the tracers on the weapons that don't use tracer ammo in real life. I don't get why BIS put that in there, there just is no zoom, so get over it. The sounds are pretty awesome, it adds a lot to the atmosphere. The only thing I wish now is that you would come out with one more version for 1.08 that does not feature the unrealistic zoom and the tracers. -
Hi First of all, great job on dynamic war, it's awesome, keep up the good work. I just had an idea that would add a little to the atmosphere in my opinion. Why not integrate some sort of insurgency in civilian outfits and stuff and maybe some IEDs. Picture going through a town in a hmmwv when suddenly you get ambushed by a group of three insurgents or so before you can continue. Just a thought there from my side. junior_g
