    Hey V4Friend, EDIT: I just noticed on SourceForge you have listed a bunch of nice features in progress. Sorry to bother you devs...but any plans for the next release. Only thing that gets annoying about this after a while is the two interaction keys for FaceTrackNoir are keys generally bound to functions in ARMA2. Here are the problems listed (but probably not explained very well). "=" - Accelerate [single player] if you forget to hit "-" after you have the game accelereated 2 X speed. (when in aircraft particularly this can be a subtle change). Its not so bad as if you are infantry the speed step is much more prolific. "[backspace]" - brings up the context menu [or turns off facetracknoir] if you want to use it for comminication or the order system. You often need to hit it again to restart FaceTrackNoir after you relise it has stopped working. Obviously the main functionality is there, and I have pretty good results after some tweaking, just havent heard if you guys are still working on the system or if in halt.     [CAMP] Operational Detachment Delta

    Hey mate..I gotta say...excellent job. I have only just begun it, but yes, the voice acting stood out like dogs balls. Also I felt the intro movie was very well done, I know how tricky they can be to get right. Out of interest...who did the voice acting? You have some family..a clan etc. The intro kept looping for me..it was saying the m14 pack was missing. Until I enabled that mod...it would not let me play the mission. It had an error, you cannot play this mission because downloaded content has been deleted or something like that, so I am not sure how "optional" that one is. Thanks again...keep up the good work.     Thanks for the replies guys, I found a most somewhere earlier where Maverick wound down the exposure on his camera and got better framerates. I tried that and got better results (that was over RDP). So I hope when I get back home I can do some tweaking and get good frames. I only just found freetrack and have been using that. This is a better option in my opinion though...no headset or hat FTW!! EDIT: Confirmed...woot I now get 30FPS. The camera "wobbles" a bit, but at least I get much better performance in game now : ) I am struggling to find the ballance between neutralzone and responsiveness to fix the wobbling camera. I found I got better results winding "Z" sensitivity right down to inhibit the zooming. Anyone get sort of a high frequency wobble or know how to resolve it? Thanks again Frosty

    The performance is pretty bad for me. CPU takes a big hit and my cam samples at between 15 and 15 FPS? Any ideas guys. Smoothing samples is set at 10 Neutral zone at 5 most sensitivities at 70 as per default. Not sure why it is so laggy ingame. Thanks gain. Frosty

    Thanks for this v4Friend, I can't believe I missed this somehow. I have some tweaking to do, but got it working pretty awesome...it generally works very well for me with my Logitech quickcam pro 5000 camera. I couldnt justify to my wife the TrackIR purchase, so this is awesome news for me. Plus she said she will call me a nerd if she ever caught me wearing trackIR headgear : | Thanks Frosty

    Team Switch in SP game?

    Hey mate, Try using the following in decription.ext. respawn = "SIDE"; All units you want to be able to teamswitch to can be set to "playable" in the mission editor. Alternatively, if they are not, you can use a script or trigger to use the commands you mentioned to select a "non-playable" unit. I have never used the commands you mentioned in the description.ext. I am not sure if there is any point in doing it that way as decription.ext is initailized before mission start, therefore you may as well set the units as "playable" when you add them in the editor.   9. Description: A reconnaissance plane has been shot down near Podeba Dam. Intel suggests that insurgents have captured the Pilot even though he managed to eject to safety. Our forces have quickly set up roadblocks on all arteries out of the North Eastern sector of the island, hopefully this will deter the insurgents from trying to move our pilot too far away. We need to firstly locate the hostage, then free and extract him to safety. The primary objective of the reconnaissance was to photograph evidence of suspected insurgent activity around the Dam. It is feared the local Militia have acquired chemicals with which they intend to contaminate the local water supply. They know this would create a massive burden for US peace force whose resouces are already stretched to the limit. We must find their cache of chemicals and destroy it before it used to contaminate the dam. Reconnaissance has been hampered by Anti-Air installations around the north-eastern airfield. UAV support will be available once these AA instalations have been destroyed to aid in locating our objectives. Until recently, insurgents have had limited ammunition for their AA weapons, but it seems they have climbed into bed with a more reliable supplier. Features: * Vanilla Arma2 compatible. * Up to 5 players Co-op in multiplayer, or group respawn in singleplayer. * Selectable number of respawns in multiplayer [0, 5 or 10] default 0. * Features Norrins Spectating script. * Random Insertion and extraction points. * Random Objective locations. * Up to 10 Objectives [dependant on mission outcomes]. * Selectable intro in multiplayer. * Simulated UAV to help locate main objectives if secondary objectives are completed. * Reward vehicles if successful with mission objectives. * Mission targeted at approximately 1 hours gameplay. * Custom scripts for various features Please see the readme in the archive for further information.     Hey Guys, Thanks for the feedback. I will try to answer a few questions. Katrician: It sounds like you did not go and take out the anti-air batteries at the airfield. Please see the relevent spoilers below. The mission is not easy, that is for sure..it never was meant to be. In saying that, if you excersise a little caution, you will be able to survive just fine, pick your targets. Thats why with the Coop version I deceided to implement an option to turn on respawn [limited]. In single player, instead of respawn I have toned down the enemy a little.     Revive is very hard to implement into this mission I have found. Because of the way the respawn currently works and also the way the death-count works for finishing the game I fear is it almost too large a task. I think I would be better off investing time into a new operation arrowhead mission, given most will be turning to that. I am a bit baffled still about the ocean swiming on spawn..I can't get it to happen. I have a few more things to try however.     Hey mate, At which point did he JIP. Can you remember which objectives had been completed. 1). I tested JIP with no probs, but that's not to say it doesnt occur when the objectives change the respawn point somehow. 2). Uses BIS first-aid system, which I have never seen that issue before.     If you select "0" respawns you get the LAV in MP, otherwise you get the HUMVEE with MG : P Oh..and Norrin may as well have made this mission, I might ask him next time, he has done much of the hard work with his scripts : ) There is much variation in what can happen during the extraction of the Pilot (if you find him). If you replay it, it may well happen differently. I am glad you had enjoyed the mission, that's what motivates making them for me : ) Thanks Rough Knight

    Hey Mate, Thanks for the feedback. Around the airfield is reasonably busy with enemy activity and you must use caution (particularly if the UAV's detect something suspicious in that area). I incorporated the BIS first aid and battlefield clearance modules into the mission, if you get killed of course you will either start spectate mode if no respawns have been selected for the mission, otherwise you are back at the insertion point. Maybe for the next version I can somehow incorportate a parameter to have revive enabled or disabled. I am not sure how this would work with the current system I don't suppose both can be used, I'll have to do some research. If you can synchronize a module to a unit via script, it could easily be a mission setup parameter to have either revive or the firstaid system (not both). Not sure if this is possible however. For this reason the roadblock outposts (your random insertion points) are relativley close to the search area, because a long drive back to the objectives can be cumbersome. I'll see what I can do.     Cheat sheat for keyboard layout?

    Hey Loyalguard, Nice work, and thanks for spending the time to do it. I like the current layout as it gives you enough info to find your way around the menu system. Another idea would be the crew shortcuts for example "Cntrl + fire" is fire order for gunner, or "cntrl + F" changes gunners weapon selection. I am happy with the format you decide is best however. Its 100% better than what we currently have. Thanks Frosty

    Ahh thanks, So does anyone know then if you can use the arma2server.exe to start a dedicated server then use your arma2.exe to join it without triggering fade? As far as I can see you should be able to because in effect it isn't any different to hosting a game via the ingame mulitplayer browser. Thanks again Frosty

    Arma 2 Grey screen when exit game

    I get this on one of my windows 7 machines. Never saw the issue using XP Professional. Has anyone had this issue with XP. Maybe just a vista or win7 issue.

    This would be good to clarify. From the wiki under "dedicated Server" it states: To my knowledge there is no dedicated server standalone executable at least for the last few versions of ARMA2. This means you would need your key using the above method. To me that would indicate you would run a risk of activating fade if for example you tried to join your dedicated server using the same key (if you havent tried this, you can actually start arma2 via your usual arma2.exe after starting a dedicated server using arma2server.exe and then join the dedicated server). This always bothered me because in arma I am sure I used to get a duplicate key message when you tried this, but it appears not so with arma2. Can anyone clarify? I am currently testing a mission on dedicated server, lucky I have 2 keys, but for testing JIP etc,its nice to have a dedicated server + 2 players for thorough testing. Thanks Frosty

    Hi again SpiritedMachine, I am using v1.1.0.0 and I'm not sure if it is intentional or not but the "check for Updates" radio button on the launcher seems to have disappeared? Not sure if you want it there or not, but it seems to have either moved or been omitted as I can't find the option anywhere in the launcher now : P Thanks Frosty
