  1. There is no way to sweet-talk what BI did. Even in OFP it was easy to understand and usable - precise information on any enemy they see...bearing, direction, distance - In some aspects they really managed to take steps back with ArmA I and II (and surprisingly don't bring a noticable improvement with ArmA II in comparsion to ArmA I - I consider it worse) and the communication shouldn't have been one of those.

  2. I remember the disappointment when GRAW 1 and 2 had been released a few years back. both not supporting FSAA. Thought these times have passed. Especially since FSAA is in the instructions of the german version of ArmA II and shown in pictures - yet not in the game!

  3. Shouldnt there be some new gameplay videos today or atleast tomorrow? If the game is supposed to be released in Germany in two days, the game must be in the stores now, just not out for sale, right? There are always a few leaks 3-2 days before release since the game is already boxed and sent out to stores.

They do that with really big titles like GTAIV and such that bombard us with advertisement weeks before its release. Some stores have them big titles in their shelves a few days early to sell more than other stores.

That surely won't be the case for ArmA II.

  4. Since ArmA I and propably ArmA II as well is/will be extremely modder-friendly, there isn't a need for official DLC.

BIS just needs to provide bugfixes and patches and the modding-community will take care of the rest. :p

ArmA I just proved that with the CWC-campaign being released as a mod.

  5. I wouldn't care when the game gets released here in germany - as long as it is as bugfree as possible.

One thing people forget about whilst talking about pirated versions of games. Not everyone who downloads it, would have bought the game in the first place.

And since the german release is supposed to happen in less than two weeks and we haven't seen a Gold-announcement yet, time is running out. Maybe resulting in a delay anyways.

  6. At amazon.de The game is listed as Armed Assault 2 :D

I guess they don't visit the official blog so often :p

Also they changed the cover. Looks like the game was rated in Germany 16+, while PEGI rated 18+

It is up to the publisher how he calls the game in each country. (amazon.de listed it as ArmA II until recently)

Armed Assault already was the name of the first game, which has been called ArmA - Combat Operations in the US-release. They are just sticking to the name of the first game - as does the US-publisher.

And yes, ArmA II will defo be uncensored. :yay:

  7. Just bought me a new PC as well for the games coming this year and so far I do not regret it. Ok except for the ArmA black-screen-thingy even with the newest patch.

    AMD Phenom II 940 BE

    Corsair 4GB RAM

    MSI ATI Radeon HD4870 1GB

    WinVista 64 Ultimate

I am sure that this set-up will ace ArmA II :)

Also if the graphics card is outdated near the end of the year I bought me a powerful PSU so that I just have to replace my graphics-card. Bring it on '09-games! :)

  8. Sounds lame and I'm not one of a kind that gives up easily, but my 2 cents are, that the campaigns are too difficult. Don't like those alone behind enemy lines missions, because your AI is useless and doing it on your own is too hard to check all directions. At least for me. Still I'm playing, but it is taking me one hell of a time.

Positive is, that it is not just some cheap addon, but the developers really put work in it to have story, dialogue and sequences. Nice going - and for 14bucks I really shouldn't complain at all. wink_o.gif
