UPDATE: 10th August Version 1.00 released! This mission has been a 2 year long project of mine. It's set on the island of Odense (a modified Everon) and has the player take on the role of a regular guy trying to live his life on the island. Your free to do as you please. Your ultimate goal is to improve your status in life (buy a nice car, big house, etc...). Your main source of income will be the farm in which you live on. It's a wierd farm in that it contains cherries, carrots, and cows . But it's up to you to pick the cherries and collect the carrots inorder to sell them at the local farmers market. If farming isn't your thing, you can roam around the entire island and find various jobs that you can do. You can work in a pharmacy and sort the inventory, jump in a fishing boat and go trawling, and about a dozen other things you can do to make a little $$$. For those of you who think it's going to be easy to make the money you need, think again. Your character isn't Rambo and so after a lot of working, he'll need to go home and sleep inorder to regain his strenght and work again. Also, you'll need to eat in order to survive. You can last about 4 days before you'll eventually die of hunger. Another thing, you'll need to periodicaly fill your car with gasoline or she'll stop running. And since your a simple farmer, your car isn't a fancy BMW. It's a piece of junk. It'll break down once in a while. So either get ready to make the long walk to the nearest mechanice, or buy a new car (which is really quite expensive). Features: -Hunger -Cooking (cook up some grub on the stove. But you'll need to buy, or catch your meal first) -Stores (you can buy bandaids, snacks, binoculars, guns,etc...) -Restaurants -Pharmacy (drugs that have various effects on you) -Police force (speeding laws are very strict. And don't even think about killing anyone, cause SWAT isn't very nice) -A transit system (taxi's, buses, ferries) -Airport (you can buy planes, or fly planes for money) -Boats (buy them, steal them. But be careful, the coast guard is on patrol) -Hospital (need an ambulance? Just call 911 and one will be sent to you right away) -Interactive NPC's (talk to almost any random person on the street. Some of the things they say are really quite interesting/funny/informative) -Casino gambling (there may be no Ceaser's Palace. But there is money to be won! ) -Military (don't bother them and they won't bother you. But do something really bad, and... well, you can guess) -Car dealerships (luxery cars, crappy cars, used military vehicles, such a range of choice! ) -Fuel stations and mechanics -Motels (tired, but to drunk to drive home? Check in at your local inn) -Prison (you don't wanna know what goes on in their. Do you?) -Your criminal record (if it gets too high, then you end up six feet under. But there are ways to lower it. Is anyone else having problems with the 'setunitpos' command? If I set a unit to "this setunitpos "UP"", he always goes prone when under attack or spot an enemy. Setting the unit to "DOWN" dosn't work either. He just stands there untill someones shoots at him. Am I doing something wrong or is this just a bug?

The setunitpos command seems to be broken. Units automatically switch back to "AUTO" for some reason. I havn't tried the command in a script yet, so try it and see if that helps. You could probably make a soldier crouch by using the switchmove command, but I don't think they'd be able to move or fire. Lets hope they adress the problem in the next patch

Also, i think you can put the moveto command anywhere you like (trigger, waypoint, etc...), but the switchmove commands only seem to work in waypoints and scripts. I hav'nt tested either of these so i have no idea if it will work. but give it a go.

It seems that when ever I try to apply a texture to my model, the texture wont stay Here's what I do: 1.I select a face 2.I enter texture mode 3.I select the area I want to texture 4.I load my texture (which is a .pac image) 5.I press 'B' My texture apears on the model, but when I exit texture mode, select another face, and enter texture mode again, I cant select another area to texture. When I drag the box around the area I want textured, my previous texture fills the box I just dragged. I hope this dosn't sound too confusing

Thanks you all for you suggestions. The mission does seem to lack action, so mabey some police action would be helpfull. The next version might take some time since i'm reworking all the large scripts to help reduce lag The island is also going to be updated so that it dosn't look so similar to Everon.

Thank you all for your kind words I can see that my mission could using a lot more depth and choice, especially in the work area. For the next version, I'll certainly remove quite a few addons, Also, I plan to rewrite all the scripts so that they as less laggy and are easier on the eyes of other people Hopfully, I'll be able to add career jobs as well

**UPDATE ON THE MISSIONS STATUS** The mission WILL be released tomorrow . All work on the mission has been completed and there is nothing else to be done. EDIT: You won't be disappointed Dynamite_cow. Try going to the local inn and ordering a few alcoholic drinks....

Thanks for the scripts cobra. I'm simply adding in easter eggs/secrets and they should be done in one or two days. Other than that, everything else in the mission is finished. The music used in the mission is just regular OFP music. But i'm going to add a tutorial in the readme on how to add your own custom music (it's pretty easy to do). There is one thing I'm having trouble with. I tried creating a sign addon that used the "setobjecttexture" command, but it failed totally. If someone would like to help, please PM me. I have a model setup and everything, but for some reason, the "setobjecttexture" command dosn't work (yes, i've read several tutorials on the subject). Or, if someone would like to create a new sign, that would also be good. Something along the lines of THIS.

EVERYTHING is done except for the breifing. Progress is a little slow, but It will get done very soon. Cobra, I'm waiting for your limo to be released so I can use it in my mission. Do you have an update for us?

Problem with random car placing

It's probably the way you check the variable "_r" at the begining of the script. Just gave your mission a quick run through. I like that fact that you need to gather info first, before taking on the bad guys. I got a strange error message after talking to the C/O. The error said someting about a missing objective marker? It also took me a while to find the survivor at Lafayette (spelling?), but not a big problem. All together, a nice mission. Good Job

Thanks pappy for the suggestions. The mission already contains your go-fast boats and your coast guard units. You did some great work on them I've never seen that Mustang pack before. Looks like a good addon to replace those BIS cars. I'll check them out and see how they fit

I'll be sure to credit you in the mission. @TheCobra: I don't really want the player to focus too much on commiting crimes inorder to make money. But, I am planning the mission so that as the players criminal rating goes up (by doing small crimes like speeding, etc...), he'll get new options to commit petty crimes like mabey robbing a small strore, nothing really big though. @STGN: I choose the name using a the high tech method of closing my eyes and pointing to some random location on a map. @POPKA: That money addon would be a pretty interesting addition to the mission. Although I tried to make the mission so that criminal acts are discouraged and punished severly, the money might be useful as an easter egg and you find it scatterd around the island. Also, I may add something so that as the your criminal record goes up (by commiting lots of crimes), you get more options, like mugging people or robbing stores. If you could post the link here/send me a PM, that would be great . @D.murphy man: Odense is a custom island (named after a real place) I made for this mission. It's not that different from Everon, it just has a couple new places that would be impossible to create just using the mission editor. It will be released along with the mission. @DBR_ONIX: My skills in creating MP missions are extreamly bad. I have no plans in making this into an MP mission, although mabey one day in the future, i'll sit down and learn some MP scripting, or mabey see if someone would want to help me convert the mission into MP. This mission was created on system running: P 4 - 2 GHz 1024 DDR ATI Radeon 9600 - 128 MB Win XP pro Video setting I use on OFP: 1024 x 768 Visability: 1654 Vis. quality: 7.19 Frame rate: MAX No object/vehicle shadows Ground detail: Low (anything higher messes up the placement of some of the objects. No big deal though) Using these setting, I get about 15 FPS in the most densly populated areas of the game. Also, there are no major gun battles or things of that sort in the game that could cause the FPS to drop dramaticaly. @exigent: I'm currently using an addon for SWAT. SWAT and their eye in the sky I'm also planning to release a "full" version of this mission in the future. "full" just means many many more addons will be put in (like better looking cars). Dont think so. Wilco made a good anim pack but it didn't replace ALL the anims. One might be planned for the Unsung mod.

I remember that a plane or pilot addon was released a while ago where if you fly too high, the pilot would black out. Does anybody know what addon this is? Or am I just dreaming this whole thing ?
