The island in the last pic, is an island I created 3 yrs ago, but never released, since it's not finished. It is called "Rothy's Pacific Islands" and has a Marine amphibious base in the north west part of the island. I created several coconut palms, which is another project I have been working on. I hope to be finished with them soon too.

Thanks for all the comments. I will do my best to add some more detail. Anyone know of any good Photoshop texturing tutorials related to armored vehicles? I'm not much of a texture artist.

I need help! I am able to destroy the AAV7 with a few M16A4 rounds. What am I doing wrong? UPDATE!! Here is what I have done so far... 1.) Fixed cargo hold seats and textures. done. 100% 2.) Added damage texture values so when the AAV7 is hit or destoyed the textures will darken or become black. done. 100% 3.) completely new hull taken from the old OGWC mod AAVP. done. 100% Left to do... 1.) Add desert textures. 25% 3.) fix turret. Tuuret currently moves at angles instead of the weapons. This was noted to be fixed back in 2003. 10% 4.) Add armor pack. 0% 5.) Add retractable covers for propellers. 45%

I tested it out this morning. And there are a few minor things I want to fix and add before release. 1.) Add desert textures. 2.) fix cargo hold seats and textures. 3.) fix turret. Tuuret currently moves at angles instead of the weapons. This was noted to be fixed back in 2003. 4.) Add armor pack. 5.) Add retractable covers for propellers. Otherwise, it is great! SFC.ITZHAK did an awesome job on animating the cargo doors. I will do my best to try to get this done asap.

Not bad, but looks like the same AAV7 that I made for TOW I recognize the wheelbase, tracks and hull. Just a remake of mine. Thats okay though... I don't mind. Looks good anyway.

Also....how about a desert textured version too.

Actually if you can add one more thing. 'Destruction textures'. I never added them on the original. It would be more realistic and follow OFP standards, so when the aav7 is destroyed, the textures are black.

Well, I have been waiting for a CH-46 since the beggining of time, and for whatever reason, no has made one. So guess what? I need help finishing it though. Any volunteers?

I agree, unless the Corps has changed drastically. I served with the Marines for 8 years, but then again, that was over 10 years ago. When I was in, we never wore patches of any type on our "cammies". Just the good ole EGA with USMC on the left breast pocket until 1991, then we had to get the name tapes, but still no patches. RoTHy

I think Jahve is still involved with TOW. I saw him post on these forums not so long ago. Can't remember where though Hi there, this is RoTHy. I used to be with TOW and I created the AAV7. I have a new version, retextured. Let me know if you want it.

GREAT NEWS! I figured out what the problem was and fixed it. It was my addons. I used Addon Manager and removed all non-OFP and OFPR addons, and it worked. Now I just need to try to add only the addons I really use. BTW -- ECP ROCKS!! I am hooked!

I am dying to try out the new ECP 1.96, but I can't get it to start.  I keep getting a 'Data file read error (config.bin).'  I looked in the \@ECP\Bin\ and noticed that I don't have a config.bin.  I only have a config.cpp.  I uninstalled ECP and reinstalled, same problem.  I downloaded the Core installer and the plugins and tried again, and still the same problem.  I don't know what to do.  Please help.  Here is a list of everything I have tried; 1. downloaded and installed ECP v1.085 (Full Installer).exe 2. got error  > checked for config.bin, none found 3. uninstalled ECP v1.085 (Full Installer).exe 4.reinstalled ECP v1.085 (Full Installer).exe 5. same error. 6. downloaded and installed ECP v1.085 (Core Installer).exe 7. downloaded and installed ECP DSAI Plugin.exe 8. downloaded and installed ECP DR Plugin.exe 9. same problem. 10. Went to BIS Forums and was unable to find a solution. My Flashpoint Resistance version is 1.96 I seached the forums and was unable to find an answer to this specific problem, if there is an answer and I missed it, I apologize. The turret movement will be fixed in version 2.0. I remember now, that on a real aav7 turret, the guns move up and down and the turret only rotates. I also plan to animate the water jets and side louvers so when the aav7 enters the water the covers open and the jets start spinning. I will have to figure out how to write a script to automate this. I also would like to have the bowplane raise and lower automatically depending on the aav7 position to water. Probably gonna have to be based on elevation. Anyway, thanks for all the complements on the AAV7. It has taken me a year to get this thing realesed. (The joys of a family and full time job.) Its been a pleasure to read all the comments on the forums. I wish the textures were better. Textures were derived from actual photos. If anyone has better photos of an AAV7 (especially you jarheads that have digital cameras) and would like to submit them, you can email them to tdijkema@hotmail.com. That would be great! Does anyone know of a way to insert NEW objects into a map? I have created two new islands and coconut palm trees and cannot place any of them in the islands. What I have done is insert the objects through the mission editor. I want to be able to populate the entire island with these trees in wrpedit. I guess its another case of the MLOD / ODOL format I wish someone knew a way around this nightmare. I found the answer to my question over on OFEC. I need the program BinarizeIT! along with BIS binarize files. This will convert my MLOD .p3d files to ODOL files and thus hopefully I will be able to load the new trees into wrpedit. Rothy

I have finished modeling the AAV7 in 3d studio max. Another member of our team at TOWTOW -- Tales of War Mod is working on importing it with O2. Rothy
