Yeah, I bough a cd with several hundred (or thousands) of Spectrum games, including the nescessary emulators. Same for a lot of old Atari 800XL games. Quite fun at times.

Over 4 Euro per gallon in Germany (diesel's a bit cheaper), too. Yeah that's more than 5 US$ at the current exchange rates... Edit: damn still calculating in Marks... ;)
-
Thanks for the nice games! Pity i was so tired!

Read the last document I gave you the link to. Read it completely. It's all explained, step by step. Edit: ah, seems you got it working.
-
You have to convert the download into a torrent file (ABC can do that), you have to run a tracker as well as having your own torrent-client up and running, pointing at the target file on your disk. Here's a better documentation.

Here's a documentation on how to create a torrent and a link to a good client.

Why don't you make it a torrent so you don't have to carry all the weight of the downloads (that will speed up download quite a bit once a few people are downloading)?!

Mhhh, if I understood it right with the XM8 the part that's adjusted to zero the scope to a certain distance is fixed to the gun, so 'adjusting' it would actually mean 'rezeroing' everytime you want to have the gun zeroed to another distance. If the adjustable part is fixed to the scope instead you zero your scopes once to the desired distances - and every time you attach one of them the gun is already zeroed to the respective distance you want for that scope. Sounds like the M4 rail is more like that - and to me that sound more practical & flexible. Of course, if you don't need/want different zeroing distances then the XM8 design is simpler.
-
I see a possible disadvantage: you can't have scopes zeroed to different distances (like one with high magnification zeroed at a farther distance than another with low magnification for close distance). Which, in my eyes, would seem to be the main advantage of using different scopes (apart from special NV scopes, etc.).

I think you should readup on the handling of russians in german pow camps. link

There's a fourth candidate now (with as much chances as Nader) - guess that's the one Duke_of_Ray was refering to in the Iraq thread: Michael Badnarik Edit: it's probably the best Kerry can hope for: A right wing extremist that steals some votes from Bush, thus making up for the votes Kerry will loose to Nader. On the other hand, reading some of his points he is probably more of a liberal-extremist. I don't think many Bush supporters will be happy about things like "complete legalization of drugs", etc.

OMG - why didn't he take her out to dinner to a restaurant/bar where they show the game? Jez, basic tactics for getting to see football & having a happy wife!

CTD and hanging OPFR 1.96 Using Nvidia DRV 56.72

And also be aware that the release candidates for WinXP are not stable releases (and explicitly intended for testing only - not for 'real use'). While I personally haven't had any problems yet with neither RC1 nor RC2 while playing OFP or any other stuff that may vary between hardware setups. Once you have enough memory in your machine (upgrade to at least 512mb - everything less is a waste of money) and you are still experiencing troubles, then go back to the regular release, even if that means a reinstall. A clean system never hurt anyone anyways. Edit: Oh, and your GF2 MX is also about the absolute baseline for playing OFP (or any other games released within the last 3-4 years). Why don't you look into an upgrade? To be able to enjoy OFP at its best I'd recommend at least a GF4Ti 4200 (or an equivalent cheap Radeon) and 512mb ddr ram - if your motherboard doesn't support dual channel memory access, then you might want to upgrade that, too. Your CPU (if it's really a 2GHz+ AthlonXP) should be fine. -
Well, the german team tried to turn the game during the last 20-30 minutes - but you have to shoot goals if you want to win, not try some half-hearted shots. Well deserved win for the czech team. They've been the best team so far in this tournament anyways.
-
Nice. Count me in for tonight!

I remember Suma mentioning that this command was disabled in the release version of OFP and was only used for internal debugging at BIS. I think you might be better of trying to (ab)use the system BIS implemented to carry ammo & weapons from one mission to another.

Danish beer like those cans of Faxe? Drinkable? Don't combine those two words in one sentence - they just don't go well together. Anyways, I'd like to see both go ahead. If possible by Bulgaria beating Italy.

Hehe, I hope you enjoy your new toy!

In my experience 1.96 runs rock stable - all crashes & problems I had were caused by device drivers & bad bios settings. Some things that may increase stability on your system: - update your bios - don't overclock - make sure cpu and motherboard temperatures don't get too high - make sure you have 512mb+ ram - make sure your PCI cards don't interfere with each other (try different slots) - lower AGP apperture to 64mb (bios setting) - deactivate fastwrites (bios setting) - lower AGP to 4x speed (bios setting) - make sure ram clock and FSB are identical (bios settings) - install the latest drivers for your motherboard & sound - update your Windows with the latest patches - try the latest gfx drivers - sometimes older versions might be more stable tho. - scan your system for adware & other crap using AdAware & SpyBot - start OFP using the -nomap parameter - make sure you don't have too much crap running in the background. Sometimes you have hardware where no updated drivers are available, but they still cause problems: remove it. I couldn't use my Audigy LS for quite some time because of this - now that there's an updated driver version out it works flawless. Also some bugged addons might crash OFP back to desktop: remove those addons. Note: removing fastwrites and lowering the AGP speed to 4x has practically no negative effect on your gfx speed.

CET is GMT+1 - but we're in summer time, so you have to add another hour.

Do you remember what war was pictured - or was it a fictional conflict?
-
Ah, pity - I had really hoped for those Band Of Comrades maps on Maldevic. Anyways, it will be fun!
-
Why do you think the czech team made those three goals? They wouldn't have dared to leave the field without having won... he'd probably eaten them alive! The downside is of course that OFP2 will now probably late by at least one more week - with all BIS people more concerned about the football than their work!

Hey Killagee, nice pictures. What camera/lense do you use for those stage shots?
