If we play FDF 1.3 please get the updated missions first from the FDF website - some missions are bugged.

A draw between the Netherlands and Czechia would be nice for Germany, but I doubt it. I think the Dutch will give anything to win that game (and most likely suceed) - and then it'll be the game against Germany that'll decide who - apart from the Netherlands - will get to the quarter finals.

Yes, the tower next to the entrance in the base (not the radio tower - the watch towers). Shoot Guba (headshot) and you're fine - just don't wait for too long.

The sad thing about Sudan is that it's nothing new. The civil war there has been going on for how long? I remember reading news (not in any ways different from what we read now) over ten years ago. But Sudan has nothing in resources that makes it important enough for any european nation or the US to take some action. [sarcasm]After all it's just africans slaugtering each other in the bush... who cares abot them anyways!?[\sarcasm] France at least tries to keep the peace in his former colonies (Ivory Coast, Congo, etc.). They are about the only western governement that immediately comes to mind when talking about repeated military deployment in Africa for decades. But even they can't be everywhere.

I'm sure France wins this match, so it'll be the true "deathmatch" when Croatia and England confront each other in a few days. And then it'll be a bit harder than beating Swizerland - for both of them.

As this is more a copy thingy than a real way of transportation an ethical question arises: once you have the copy of yourself in the other place - what do you do with the original? Kill it???

Well, I've seen people only shred shitty games to pieces. There's quite a lot of threads about other games here in the Offtopic section from Forgotten Battles to my late EVE Online thread where it was clearly visible that the tolerance for other stuff is already there. [heretic mode]One cannot play OFP all the time![/heretic mode] If you're worried about games like Battlefield, etc. Well, many people simply don't like these. As OFP is aimed at a quite different audience compared to these it isn't surprising to find here a majority of people who can't stand them. And off course they voice their opinion. IMO a good game, aimed at a mature audience, will have no problems being accepted and discussed here.

Portugal was the better team, so they deserved to win. Helped by that unfortunate descision for sure - but they were stronger even before. Russia actually played better when they were only 10. Congrats!

He did, but it looks really not like he intended to - he was just stopping his own fall. Tough one for Russia - not only were they playing even worse than the Protugese but now they also have one player less.

Argh, seems the patch they put on messed quite a few things up - they are fixing them now (first hotfix was already out today - with more to come tomorrow). I'd recommend only going on to change skill learning and apart from that to lie low in the hangar until the worst is over (should be ok before the weekend).

The question would be how the pilot is supposed to see anything when the 'light is warped' around his ship...

I think it was actually a very good game - the Dutch were a bit weak in the first half, but in the second they put up a lot of pressure - which in the end lead to a well deserved 1:1. Not the boring match I had expected. Good football, not too defensive.

Yeah, but short before the break they started getting dangerous... I think the second half can will probably be even better than the first. A very welcome surprise!

You have the new patch (it auto-updates you when you try to connect), but there's some issues - I'm ingame. If you tell me where you are I may be able to slip you some stuff. Edit: sent you 50k - all I can give right now, but that should get you a small frigate and some guns. I just bought skills for over 600k... now I'm broke. Na, not really... just gotta sell the loot from my last pirate hunt.

Do some of the agent missions available after you've completed the tutorial - they pay well enough so you can afford a small frigate soon (use the market to find the cheapest prize in your region). Also mining gives you some income quickly (don't refine - without the skill you'll make more selling the raw ore). Just mine scordite, nothing fancy. What's your ingame name?

Not really - if anything I should ask you - you've been playing this game way longer than me... ;) I have power core diagnostics installed while at the same time training up my engineering skill (L3 now). Thats enough to power 2x150mm railguns, 2x std missile launchers and a shield booster. I'd have to replace 1 150mm gun with a 125mm to fit my cold gas thrusters, but I only do that when speed's essential.

Ah, note that EVE was patched today and that (at the time of writing) the full download is not updated yet - the patch required is only 0.7mb, tho. You can get it here.

Mhhh... first: do the tutorial, all of it. It's the best way to learn your way around EVE and the GUI. Also it gives you a good standing with the faction you start with. second: train, from the very first moment. Always have one skill in training and if you have surplus cash, buy more. Information on what skill are usefull can be found in the guides found on some of the site I'll list below. It also depends very much on what you want to do, what race you are and how your character starts out. third: don't go into solar sytems that have a security rating below 0.5 - else you're dead meat, as in those areas the police doesn't protect you from player pirates (and the NPC pirates are usually much tougher, too). fourth: get a new ship. First moment you can afford and fly it (frigates skill might be the problem if you didn't choose a military pilot/captain career). The one you start out is just good enough to get you through the tutorial. Here's some more help for rookies (I'm still one, too - just started last week): <ul>[*]official new player faq [*]a good yet simple FAQ for new players [*]The best EVE info pages and forums are at eve-i.com - they offer an online tool that let you see how your descicions during character generation influence the outcome. Also there's a lot of other good stuff - tutorials, forums, etc. [*]Something that's always worth a second look at is the skill tree, where you can check what you need to get/advance a certain skill or simply how skills depend upon each other. That should get you started.

There's 7-day trials that any subscriber can send you (but I guess your 3-day trial will get prolonged to 7 days automatically anyways - happened to me that way).

You have to see it this way: the game can be downloaded for free (or bought, but then including the account creation fee and one month of game time), so somehow they have to finance the enormous costs involved in the development of the game (and the free expansion packs they are continuosly adding) and the maintenance of the server cluster needed to run such a game. I think it's a fair deal.
