Shame swimming is not a option as like you guys state when parachuting and landing in water you die straight away is a bit silly. Pilots only normally have a sidearm and thats it (not heavy) Surely they can at least have some lifejacket which allows you to paddle or something to the shore?

I have made a search and found posts about the see through textures but none seem to help. Â Im trying to get the standard m2a2 Bis periscope to see through my wall texture (paa) but have come up with nothing so far.
Hows it done?

Yeah i made the mistake of leaving msn on and people talking to me while i was ingame, i eventually got back ingame only to jump too late and die. Great fun tho

Great night again guys, i dont play very much now (not like the days in UKA) but i really enjoyed the game and the missions. Also the game seemed well different with the weapons we used last night with their slow reload, added a lot more depth into the game and also made you try a lot more hard to shoot to kill instead of firing several rounds in their direction.

Hi all, currently im on the Sultan project and need some help with regards to the animation of the penthouse (tent) and Antenna masts. Â
Heres a picture to explain what im trying to do. Â

What im after is for the Antenna masts (which are 8 x 1 metre poles) to pull out of each other in a upward direction as the Blue arrow shows.
While the masts are moving up, i want the tents frame to pull out to the distance it is from the Sultan in the pic. Â Then when the frame has moved out and stopped, the end poles move down (green arrows as shown)
Than after all that, i want the canopy to just appear over the frame and complete the process (maybe adding a few chairs, a map and table)
Now is this all possible. as im more of a model/texture artist then working with anims etc. Â And if it is possible how the hell do i do it Â

Like it or not gfx add to the overall feel of the game and flashpoints gfx are outdated and need to make use of all them need shiney gfx cards we all have. Personally im hoping BIS dont take too much time on models and missions and just let the community build upon it like they did with the original.

Just played beneath a steel sky as it is now freeware from revolution. Really reminds me of my young teen days ahhhhhh. Simon the sorcerer on there too among other games. Wicked

Was reading a topic bout the old flight sim manuals. Really is sad how much effort is put into the finished projects now. Saying that times have changed and games are no longer for fun but for profit

Only bad thing bout beneath a steel sky was the 12 disks that came with it were constantly loading, was well ahead of the times tho.

Just found the title... Â Beneath a steel sky. Â Never got too far in it tho as the fecking thing crashed when i needed to load the next disk Â

Cannon fodder was also great. 2nd one stank tho.

Secret of monkey island was brilliant at that time. There was this other game that i cant remember the name but it was brilliant, it was set in the future and you had a robot with you that you had to build, think the bloke had no memory or something (bit like me at the mo)

Could be a number of problems, scratched disk, copied game, virus, etc. Im with stainer on this one, give your disk a wipe and make sure nothing else is running while you re-install flashpoint.

Problem was fixed by the way by defining all the Components "Component01" in the Geo lod. Im thinking the lods from the weapon were conflicting with the vehicle and producing a bouncing effect similar to when 2 objects are pushed together.

Noticed all the games you said are old games. Im betting there is alot of players out there that are playing games that are older then 5 years also. Infact the only game i have bought since ofp has been Raven sheild and that was utter crap and the only reason i bought it was due to the rest of my clan having it. (I dint buy it come to think about it, it was bought for me :S)

Its looking so much better for armed assault with all these tactical/simulations doing so poor (not saying armed assault needs help for sales) just that it will boost sales. Really think due to the fact you guys have played flashpoint, nothing is really going to beat the gameplay (i know i havent found anything better yet)
Games companies have covered everything they can now and its just repetative crap they are throwing out with the thought "if it aint broke dont fix it" Maybe its time for gamers to gather and say enough is enough and we will not pay for the same rubbish each year. Has anyone already set up a webby that is petitioning to change the way the game industry is going?. By the way the demo stinks

I used to play swat 3 too. Never online tho, First game i played on pc was delta force 1 (or whatever its name) Was wicked and also on a lan. Made me buy a pc and im so glad i did. Never really been a fan of the Rainbow 6 series,

Me good ol HP Pavilion zv5000 with a 64bit Athlon and a basic Nvidia card does quite well for what it is. Im also using it to model and texture my projects...

so you select the face you dont want to see through the periscope and use Faces/ Move to next alpha? If so i have tried that and nothing has worked so far. My test texture is a paa with a alpha channel. Im guessing it needed to be a alpha channel.
