  1. I want to make a car move faster than it's maximum speed, I have heard things about setVelocity, but I am not really sure how to use it. Can anybody inform me on how to do this?

    I have renamed this mission to "The Darkest Day" ----------- It takes place in an alternate sahrani, after a nuclear reactor near bagango exploded. Along with many species of plant life and animals, bacteria also mutated because of the radiation. The most impacting disease caused by the radiation, is one that causes loss of intelligence, and extreme violence in the subject. It is also highly contagious. This has plagued the northern part of sahrani, and there have been rumors among survivors that there are safe and guarded pockets in southern sahrani. You play as one of many survivors, at the farthest, and safest reaches of northern sahrani. Your group has decided that it is not wise to wait where they are, because soon the infection would come through their area. So they have decided to take their chances, and head south, to the so called "safe area" On December 21, the shortest day of the year. They plan on moving through the dark, to limit detection of zombies, other people, and mercenaries. Despite the horror stories of returning survivors, about the ruins of the nuclear plant, and of a pain transmition device, protecting Corazol. ---------- There are plenty of secrets in this mission, you may find crates, full of weaponry. and vehicles that you can use to further assist your mission. Information is also an important part of the game, by walking into certain areas, you may "refresh" your characters memory, about people, places and secrets. You may also find information in computers, and in desks, and on dead people. The mission is fairly persistent, and may take a very long time to complete.

    Would be nice if you could pass it on. Maybe if i can figure out how to make configs and find the textures, i could retexture and reshade some Canadian troops from RACS.

    This mission takes place in Pariso, and the areas around it (like the airfield) Pariso is a populated city with civilians who go about their daily business, so marines must not fire upon them. There are 4 teams (three playable), here are their descriptions and objectives: -OPFOR- Civilians that are sided with the SLA team, so they are unfriendly to BLUFOR. Their objective is to drive to ammo caches (marked on map), stock up the cars, and bring them back to base. Once there is enough ammo at their base, they can start coordinating attacks on marines. -BLUFOR- US soldiers that are stationed at the airfield, they have APC's multiple types of helicopters, and plenty of weaponry. Their objective is to patrol the streets, while looking for insurgent cars loaded with ammo and weaponry. They must try to starve the insurgents of weapons, so that they cannot have the means to fight properly. -Independant: "In for the money" mercenaries. it consists of 6 players slots. The mercenaries are shown as freindly to both insurgents and U.S soldiers. But they should be considered nuetral because they can decide who they want to work for, sell guns to, or even kill. When playing as the other teams, it is best not to fire upon the mercenaries unless it is really necessary. Because they are armed to the teeth and can come down on you like a tonne of bricks if they want to. -Civilians: (not playable) they are meant to make insurgent recognization more difficult, and make it so the marines have to watch their fire. here are a few screenshots, in game and in the editor. http://img210.imageshack.us/img210....MG] I have not yet thought of a way to end the rounds, but I will probably think of something soon.

    This serves the same function as my tutorial.. DL's from the same place too, and dl's the same data. I guess it works if you are trying to figure out where the area is.

  11. I have a trigger that putts text on the screen, but it does it for all players. How can I make it only show the text on the one players screen?

  15. I am going to start making movies with armed assault, so I was wondering... Could I just save a WMA file, and just type in some initialization code into the unit to make him say it? or do is it more complicated? If it is a complicated process, is there a init code I can type into the character to make his mouth move?

    It generates bumpmaps, that will come in handy for textures artists I think. I might start using it depending on how it works. The heightmap must be a .PNG to work though, hopefully it does that. EDIT: Whoa, I just tried it, it should work well for visitor, if you resize the original picture well. This will make applying sat maps easy as hell. No resizing or anything, because you actually start with the sat map, and the heightmap is built off the pic.

    I am still trying to learn how to spawn zombies. But, I am going to continue using NeM zombies, I found you can place around 70 or so, before is starts to lag too much. So, seeing as they are smarter, and can infect people, I can place less of them, and the game will still be more fun. Also, I am redesigning the mission, I have a story now, and there are going to be a bunch of unique elements to the game. I will edit the first post with the new information.
  20. Everything should be put in ArmA, I am really hoping to see a full zombie mod. Or alien mod. StarShip troopers would be totally kick ass too.

I have done a small preview of my map, and found that the terrain is doing something weird, it is hard to describe, but I will try anyways: It looks like instead of a square terrain grid, it has made on out of diamonds. Here is the original heightmap in Wilbur: http://img144.imageshack.us/my.php?image=showoffaa7.jpg And here is the effects I am getting on the flat ground Things you should note: -The heightmap has been resized, scaled downwards. -I am using an old version of visitor 3. -I am crap at visitor 3. Any recommendations?

    Alright, that last place wasn't Vegas, it is very close though. It looks like I will have to make the map bit larger, I have been comparing with Google earth.

    Can't, the mountains become more like gentle slopes. This looks about right, the proportion of everything, as you said, is spot on.
