Hey just tried the radio menu 0-8-7 Near Friendlies -> Recruit I got the error message in the tan box, not the black with white lettering that the recruit.sqs was not found. This is on zargabad newest version. Also I have a suggestion. What do you think about making the weapons more random with the enemy army?. I would think that many NATO weapons would have been captured in the times prior to the start of the storyline. -

I have a mod folder and the mission is working just fine. I tried fallujah but stopped after it got real laggy in the city, even with less than default groups, but I don't think you can do much on that, its a large map full of objects. Back in zargabad, the northern part of the city is a killing ground. The enemy army sends its squads in and they just disappear.. bodies, gear and all. Imagine that. :D -

I haven't had that specific one, but after the last ACE2 upgrade I got a bunch of script errors when I resumed the mission. Once I restarted new it was all good. The only other error is the ACE backpack error when checking inventory, but I've tuned it out now. -

I have not searched the house and it is the black middle of the screen script error message. I will go for it if I see it on this play through.. I made a grievous error in trying to run right up into edge of zargabad.. I am now pinned down by multiple vehicle and a bunch of guys who don't like me. :( -

Heya.. I get a script error with what appears to be a Its been seen only a few times and I have not run without ACE2 yet so It might just be that. I get the script error, and then on the map I can but no other indicators about it. The shows up just fine. I will run without ACE2 and get back to you, but at least you can see it here. -

Sounds great. Looking forward.. I really like the on the fly objectives that show up real nice system. For the alarm radius.. Putting it that way. Makes sense.. It could also just be the added ACE2 AI enhancements making it that more difficult with the distance, its just at times it feels like every unit in the place is coming after you... But thinking again.. Its just what you are looking for. So yeah. I withdraw my previous objection. Great work as always. -

Zargabad is sweeeet. One thing. This is probably ACE2 related, but since zargabad is a smaller map did you adjust the reinforcement range to take that into account? Right now it seems like I shoot one round at a guy and the entire half of the map army shows up minutes later hunting me. Great work.. I play this and the zombie and the forgotten few missions pretty much every week. -

oooooh much better, I could even run ACE with the mission. The on-the-fly mission updates are a great touch too. I see how much has changed and been cleaned up from the previous versions. What other mods do you think you may support? Classic Gaming Moments = *Running in terror as a Mi-24 pops up over a hill and comes screaming at you firing guns and rockets into the town you try to hide in.. I had a real rambo 3 experience, I jumped on a KORD and fired until that thing went click, then went prone in the sandbag position as the Mi-24 poured cannon fire at me and my make-shift camp that moments before was quiet. I lost everything :( I had to run into the forest with one mag left with my M4 and half a mag of 9mm. *Prior to that I heard an odd echoing low bass noise and waited while trying to listen with my one ear in the headphones with the directional sound. That odd noise finally smoothed out to the sounds of chopper blades slapping the air. And my going "oh.. shit". Great work, this mission is definitely starting to turn into a classic like "Abandoned Armies" -

Question. I have tried two of the missions on my local dedicated server. In each one after I die for the first time, the mission will end with "a new life in XXXX hrs" this happens even with re-spawning in a new slot. Is that by design? If so is there a setting I need to use to stop that from happening? This was with the default settings that the mission starts with when first starting it up for a game. Also with vanilla Arma 2 CO no mods, except clients with sound/warFX Thanks. -
This was a restart, as I removed some mods so I had to do so. One suggestion. I am sure that its probably a bunch of work, *NVM.. played some more and realized it was pretty much like that. Or have the ability to for the mission to recognize mods that the player is running and add them on the fly?

I was playing a game running SLX, Blastcore visuals and JSRS sound mod and came across an enemy commander that was immortal. It was the model from the chedaki side (I think), that looks like he is dressed in baby blue with dark spots pajamas. I am starting a new game to see if the same thing happens. I had an ambush setup with two SPG9 UAZ and they hit him with the rounds and he flew up in the air and went over the top of a mountain. When he returned and killed one of my crew and I emptied about 3 mags and 5 grenades at him and didn't die, I knew something was up. I am leaning towards it being SLX the cause. If I run into it again, I start a new game without SLX and see what happens. I do like the additions you have for 2.0. Nice work! Performance is great with lesser enemies, playing with ACE did cause some slowdowns, but I expected that. It certainly feels like there is more going on now. Still have not reached that 33% yet :-) As for stability. No issues what so ever for me.

Sounds great. Correct, no crashes or game stoppers at all even when running ACE the first time. Not at 33% yet, haven't played in a few days.

I am doing a play through right now. I think, that if you added some objectives that would make sense in the game world to help you achieve things, or to gain things it would add that tiny bit more of pizazz to the mission. I do like the civilians and the friendly forces to the mix. I am playing with Blastcore visuals, SLX and JSRS sounds and am experiencing no lag while using the lesser enemies option. Although occasionally there seems to be a weird action of the caching scripts as sometime you will engage a group of enemies and the third soldier who is always carrying a RPG will disappear for a few seconds and then reappear and then raise their rifle up. It is really rare, as I've only seen it twice in the 10 hours I have played.

Ok ok ok.. These types of missions are always my favorite on this series of games. Now I have been having much fun hitting the convoys that are driving around, and have had a few that were actually escorted. I have experienced the captives not getting out of the truck bug and when I drove the truck to the base there, the base defenses shot it up... same with a vehicle that I had captured and I lost a whole bunch of ammo and weapons. /sigh. I am using ACE, so I am getting ace related errors, but nothing besides the captive issue from the mission. so.. now that all that is out of the way.. But great mission though.

I finished the campaign last night. Really enjoyable. :D Make sure you have the rh_mk18_cfg.pbo in your addon folder also. I forgot to grab that from a separate folder in the 7zip of another RH addon, and it was not loading at all and I was getting the same type of error. rh_smg i think. Once i added the cfg.pbo it worked as it should. -

Is it intentional for the campaign to restart the current mission when an important person is killed? Every time an important person, be it archangel, EOD tech the game ends the whole mission, and erases all my saves. So I have to continually restart from the very beginning just about every single mission, and since each one of your missions have multiple tasks in them it gets tiring doing the same tasks over and over again from the start. Or is this how ArmaII does things? If so.. completely new to me. heh. EDIT: Nvm.. I remembered that I need to hit the ESC key for the menu, then revert to a save prior to the actual mission/campaign ending. duh... been playing all the OFP/Arma series for 10 years now and i completely forgot this. -

Oh checked the armaoa.rpt for the crash on 'Metal Militia' turns out I did not load the folder with the maxxpro addon. Thought I had it in there. heh. -

For me the mission 'Metal Militia' does not load, it just sits there, with only hard drive activity going on and on. I left it for 10 mins and came back and it was still just showing the same activity but nothing else. I also removed some mods, and restarted got the same thing, then reverted to 'The Stan' mission and once I got to the end of that mission, it went right back to a bunch of HD activity and nothing after 5 mins. There are two interaction keys with ACE. One is your right windows key, and then there is the application key which looks like a right-click window menu. Its right next to the right windows key. If you are using a laptop, or some US keyboards you may not have the right windows key and will need to remap it. The windows key is the interact with an object key, and the application key is the interact with yourself key. As for the mission. I am thinking that my crashes are either what Tonci87 has posted or its because I have quite a few addons loaded, as I hate to quit and restart whenever I want to play a different mission. -

King Nothing, I get a 403 error when trying to get that from Armaholics site. The Dl links send you to Dev Heaven http://dev-heaven.net/projects/list_files/vftcas Had to go to http://www.armedassault.info/index.php?game=1&cat=addons&id=1118 instead. Didn't fix the issue I had, had to drive there on a BMD. Then it crashed :( -

oops had to finish that one up quick. yes it did fire on them, and made a nice pile of spent cartridges in and around the front of it, but it did not say long and turned and sped off. -

The time I posted about, I was on the BMD 2. And it did stop and I got a message in both text and voice file about getting off as we are being ambushed and to kill the bastards. I had my squad flank on the right side and pushed the enemies to retreat and try to flank on the left. But this was after the BMD was swerving left and right and going through peoples yards instead of staying on the road. Additionally... that BMD must be the fastest tracked vehicle ever... -

Man just better and better... Started with the addon version w/ACE and its almost a new thing. 2 missions that I had not seen on the prior play through... Nice! Except for the drivers deciding to plow through whatever is on either side of the road instead of using the road its going well with ACE.
