    No Beta. 1.04. I remember in op-flash that option had an effect. but in arma and arma 2 it does nothing. never has...

  3. For some reason i can't get the addon to work :confused:

    I tried a new modfolder, didnt work, so i put the addon files inside another modfolder which is confirmed to be loaded by the game.

    However, still no effect to be seen.

    Anybody know what might cause this?

    Yeah, try moving the position of the mod@ thing. worked for me..


  4. How can we get this to work with JTD smoke properly? They do "work" together but seem to cause some conflicts. I dont like the blurry smoke from the effects mod. Is it possible just to have the hit effects and sparks but no smoke from this mod. As JTD is the most amazing smoke effect Ive seen in a game. I dont want to mess it up...

    Thank you for this amazing mod. The dust kicked up from bullets is fine IMO. I like it alot. If you were to change anything it would be the sparks from shooting metal with small arms. I use this mod with JTD smoke and they work ok together but sometimes the smoke disappears completely then starts again. Is there any way to turn off opticalsnares smoke and keep JTDs? That is the only real gripe I have. Good work fella.


  6. Some of the post inside this section seems some old fary tale, how it be.. missing quad-core support in addition with no multi-gpu code optimization, really sucks and perhaps kill our expectation.

    In term of performance, it's like u know, watching a blu-ray video on one old Athlon Thunderbird 800.

    Lot of stuttering, I mean really a lot. So, I've decided to leave a post for the posterns.

    Vanilla 1.04 - ARMA2_Build_59323 - PROPER - no matter what, the game as it is will just stutter, so please: chunk, serialize the texture or at least for the most used enable a cache folder.

    I read that Arma 2 hate quad SLI. try disabling one of cards.


  7. You can find a SMAW at FOB Manhattan if you look around. That will make it very easy. Once I gave them a little willie pete that I hoped would soften them up. Instead it killed them all (more or less) :o WP (artillery) is waaay to effective against heavy armor.

    Arty + SMAW + Boomerang + own AAVP (once the tank is out), this part should be fairly easy. I admit I had some troubles with it myself the first run.

    When I Try and use arty on this camp it says cannot reach that area!??


  8. This is generally a problem with Arma2. You'll be better off running the dedicated server exe in parallel with the game. That way you can configure the network bandwidth usage and other parameters as explained here.

    Damn Im never going to have time to sort that out. Are BIS going to adress this in a future patch??


  9. I still don't understand why they decided to keep the "blacking out" system. Real soldiers (and humans overall) don't run until they black out, but rather slow down when they are too tired to run quickly. Blacking out in the battlefield just because you ran too much carrying too much gear just doesn't happen. Just try it yourself, load yourself out with gear and try running as fast as you can, and let me know what happened first - did you black out or did you just slow down and wasn't able to run any faster? I can pretty much guarantee it'll be the latter.

    I agree. One guy posted saying he saw a soldier once passing out. Ive seen someone pass out too. It doesnt mean it should be included. I personally didnt like the passing out feature. It happend WAY too soon and was just annoying.


  10. My impressions after playing for a few hours are mixed. I love the new bullet impact effects and the rockets on choppers are epic. The AI are very different now, lots of units doing things you dont expect. Not always realistically though. Alot of the time I had units getting in cars and trying to escape even if I was hugely outnumbered. And there are some serious animation problems. Units running on the spot and some very jerky transitions. One of the death animations I saw was great, the others not so good. BIS did a fantastic job with the animations. Making them in some respects look like rag-dolls. Mabey no need to change them...

    For me, the best soundmod for Arma 1 was HIFI FX, you could hear the breech metallic sound when you fired. Vops isn't bad but HIFI was really great !

    I hope XIII 'll have time to port it over Arma 2 one day. Sound is really important for immersion !

    Here, here. Its a game about WAR! The sound should make it FEEL like one.
