    Air defense in ARMA2

The newest screenshots show an Avenger system. It's basically sidewinder missiles on a HMMWV. I imagine that it may be there to counterbalance the Tunguska AA system on the Russian side.

USA Politics Thread - *No gun debate*

Better explained earlier in this thread, so here it is again. Third party candidates for the president are pretty much going to continue to be shut out, and even if the two parties were abolished, the same system would eventually coalesce out of the remains.

    GC 2008 Press Coverage

No, they were all to the same classified page, I remember. If they've changed that, it must be to make editing easier when they add more content to the site.

    Project RACS

Serious? That's too bad, I was actually going to try these addons today, especially the fighters and helicopter. I hope you'll forget about the one person who made negative comments, I think the vast majority of us would never mind a slow download for free addons of this quality. If he doesn't like it, he can pony up for a server. Otherwise, I look forward to the links being restored so I can try them out. -Gabe edit for spelling...

USA Politics Thread - *No gun debate*

It was like that because before mass communications made it possible, it was difficult and time-consuming to govern Florida the same way as New York, since there were no phones, cars, planes, or the internet. The problem with decentralizing power is that states don't all have access to the same resources. West Virginia will never be able to afford the same amount of social programs as California, because the population of West Virginia is one of the poorest in the nation. I know that there's a lot of poor people in CA, but there's also a much larger population of rich people, with a greater gap between high and low earners in that state. Some things, like social welfare programs, can (and should) be administered on a national level. Other things, like gun control, doesn't make sense to handle that way. The need for gun control is very different if you're in Arizona, or Washington DC, and small areas can enact stricter controls on gun ownership to meet their own needs.

    Fallout 3

I get those guys every now and then, mostly just in the wastes, though, while I'm exploring. I countered them by going to Tenpenny tower and assassinating Tenpenny myself. And then I killed everybody in the tower, just to be sure. I had to save and get off then, so I don't know if that's going to stop the mercs from attacking me.

    Government internet filtering in Australia

My argument is that it's already hard enough for people to find the information they need to defend their rights. Information for contacting legal aid and labor law organizations is found rapidly and accurately online, as well as detailed information on tenant-landlord law. Employers, landlords, and corporations already know everything they need to know about these laws, that information is most accessible there on the internet. I guess I can see where internet use could be seen as a luxury, and I don't presume that my arguments are going to change anybody's minds. I guess I concede that while the internet is a luxury, I'd like to see the above information become more accessible to all, either through public or employer-provided kiosks, regardless of social status.

    Government internet filtering in Australia

Because the internet it more than just a service, like electricity. It's a library, and its a means to get information about laws and services that protect the lower-class from rampant exploitation. It's already hard enough for people to find necessary information, i.e., the tenant-landlord act to protect themselves from being taken advantage of. I shudder to take myself to the logical conclusion of your ideals, Barron. There needs to be balance. In the US, there's the capacity for unrestricted access in most areas, so there should not be a cap on access based on how much you can afford to pay, nor should you be able to buy up so much bandwidth that others with less resources cannot access the same amount of information as quickly as you can. I'm not suggesting the government become an ISP, but there has to be rules and regulations to prevent the formation of one large ISP that makes its own rules and sacrifices service solely for profit.

USA Politics Thread - *No gun debate*

Wow, thanks Wolfrug! I wanted to say something like that, but I'm just going to give you a +1 for my inability to put it as well and impassioned as you have. As an American, I see plenty of lower class people working their asses off to support themselves and their family, and the whole idea that somehow they're not good enough people to be successful makes me ill.

Brothers in Arms : Hells Highway

I got back up to the second mission on authentic, and Fallout 3 came out. I'm not a big fan of the completely missing interface, there's things you can't see in a game that are there in real life and game interfaces help to bring you that information, also the friendly squad icons are nice. Having the hardest AI with the interface from normal would be ideal, I think.

Brothers in Arms : Hells Highway

I thought it was an awesome single player experience. I don't play most games MP, so I can't touch on that, but it was like blasting my way through a WW2 miniseries. Character development was very good, my only gripes are with the enemy AI. They weren't aggressive enough, and I was never actually flanked by the enemy, even when they had 2-3 more soldiers in the firefight than I did.

I submit that it's not important what color a candidate thinks Jesus' skin was, more than what he takes away from Jesus' teachings.

    PROJECT'85 TOPIC

I like addon releases, personally. I'd take WGL again over FFUR anyday, just because I like to have a sandbox to play around in, create missions, etc... And, if I periodically get new toys for my sandbox, all the better! Also, It'd be pretty quick before there was a P85 Warfare conversion up, I'm sure.

Actually, half of all gun deaths are suicides. 40 percent of gun deaths are due to illegal firearms, and only 2 percent of gun deaths are deemed legal, in the US. http://www.abcnews.go.com/TheLaw/wireStory?id=5279335 Personally, I'm a bit split on this issue. I like gun ownership, but I'd also like to see inner cities safer. Most illegally owned firearms started as legally owned firearms, so banning many weapons would reduce the number of gun deaths. But, I strongly feel that if we pursued a war on poverty as aggressively as our war on drugs or terror, crime in general, including gun deaths, would decline.

    Government internet filtering in Australia

On the other hand, it's also a wealth of information, and if you start limiting that information to people because those with the resources can buy all the bandwidth and leave the rest with a narrow pipe, it's much less democratizing.

How about trying to rectify or at least apologize for some of the damage we did to the world trying to hold the Soviets in their corner? Terrorists don't hate the US for our freedoms, or they'd be attacking Norway, or Iceland, or a number of other countries with a greater degree of personal freedom and liberty. They hate us because of our skewed development and foreign policy decisions overseas. We've been doing a pretty terrible job so far, stripping away personal liberty, granting the government all sorts of new surveillance powers. In America now, people talk about Muslims like they used to talk about blacks, or people used to talk about Jews. Take any sentence about Obama being a Muslim, or some stereotype about Muslims, and replace the word Muslim with Black or Jewish. We've heard all this before, unfortunately. The more things change... Seriously, trying to demonstrate our willingness to commit atrocities as a show of strength?
  20. Will all the floating rocks on Nogova be taken care of? There's the valley where you have the ambush mission in Res, the hill south of the valley has floating rocks all over it.

    Cold War Rearmed Discussion

The boots with the green sides were allowable in the US Army as part of the BDU uniform, as well as the all-black leather, as well as German tanker boots (Which some of my buddies wore in Germany). Most soldiers would be wearing the all-leather, all-black boots, though.

    Peeing in the shower?

Okay, maybe you guys can settle an argument between my wife and me. Is it normal and fine (After all, there's a drain and running water) to pee in the shower, or is this the most disgusting bathroom habit ever?

I for one really enjoy the music selection, I hope that you will at least include it as is, maybe in a separate PBO instead of getting rid of it.
