    Mapfact releases 3DE-Project

    ok I created a project fine and then created an SQF file called Artybatt1_Sara.sqf. I pulled the file out of the armaext/files directory and moved it into my mission folder. In the init.sqf file I put in []execVM"Artybatt1_Sara.sqf"; as its in the root of my mission folder. I start the mission and look for my additions and nothing is there. What am I doing wrong. Fixed, Spelling error in the SQF. It worked great. I love the way I can create Pre-defined attributes without having to do them in mission editor all the time. Just add to take out the SQF.
  2. Wanted to start a thread to let people show off their new island updates using the new 3DE-Project Tool by Silola and folks at Mapfact. This tool has alot of potential and it would be great to share what youve been able to create. Remember keep images under 100k.

    I agree with alot of the sentiment here that this game is not the quantum leap we hoped for. I think the part to really look closely at is the new command language. I think it mentioned 1200 commands in the language. Thats where the depth will be and of course with the modding community.

  5. Try the addon the Chops suggestion. Its a slight mod to the base arty static pieces in Arma. It allows you to load different ammo for different ranges. It designates asimuth and angle so you can hit targets from 11km out. You also get credit for kills. Ive also found that the enemy will fire counterbattery at you with DAC 2.0. :-)

  8. Yes, it is already included inside the console script and this function activates when the script detects Mando Missile initialized in your mission. About helos landing and troops disembarking, the problem is that you may need the troops in areas where ArmA helos will keep crashing always when trying to land (cities, forests, mountains). With the current system you might have reinforcements or friendly troops everywhere in the map. How bout making it optional (another mando console button) to do either way. I know you have the ability to do precision landings as in your helo script(ie your evac lands right on target). Keep up the great work.

  10. Mando another one for 1.59 I created a mission using DAC 2.0, CEX and mando air support console. Needless to say it creates an insane battle. I also subed the av8 recon aircraft for the MQ-1 addon. works perfectly. I used the air assault option and was a little disappointed to watch troops jumping out of helos instead of helos landing and disembarking. Would make a spectacular affect to have them land instead of jump. Think it can be done? So far everything is working beautifully. Keep up the good work.
  11. Mando Two quick questions 1. How do I change the recon alt to 1000m. The slider on the console goes to 400. 2. When in flying recon mode does the camera act as a designator as well. I locked onto a building and called in Laserbomb. It missed my locked impact point.

  13. Im trying to do a smoke affect for an arty piece that would include muzzle smoke and dust created from the gun blast. Anyone know of a good example I could look at for the drop command. Thanks.

    Mando Have you thought about doing a Mando Artillery addon. Something where you can tie in long range arty fire to the LRM119 with plotting, Smoke, affects, the works. Would be way cool.

    Dyslex I downloaded your profile for my ir4 and I love it. Question. What is your stick setting for Throttle. I dont seem to have alot of response on throttling down thus the helo balloons when trying to slow down. Any advise. thanks for the great profile.

    another item to change which would add immersion is a more in depth loading sound. I was on youtube the other day watching an arty firing sequence. There is alot of yelling back and forth amongst the crew. I thought that kind of sound would be great to have for the loading sound. Just a thought.

    Quick note. In MPlayer, there is no sound of the inbound shell when your away from the gun. Would be nice to hear inbound

    Very good information. So does the elevation given when you click on the map take into account your height and the target height and the charge your using? OR..... is the elevation given the differential between your height and the target height. that may explain the neg value??? good info on the mouse sensitivity. It was driving me nuts. Also looking forward to inbound Arty sound. Right now when you spotting in MP you dont hear the round coming in until it explodes on your head :-).

    Thats good news o3o. Also how does it calculate elevation. or What is elevation. Is it the height of the gun or the angle you raise the gun tube to hit the target. Depending on the charge used to hit a specific range could require a different elevation. ie to hit a target out 5000m with charge 3 requires an elevation of 18, Charge 4 elevation 10, charge 5 elevation 5

    030 THIS is a great mod. I tried this on a MP server and it worked great. I created a firing table for your charges that includes range and flight time. A couple of questions 1. Sometimes I get a negative elevation. What does that mean. 2. If you fire out 5km with charge 3 it may take 30 seconds to reach the target. How do you use fuse delay if the max setting is 7 seconds. Can you explain this further. I just wish one of our brilliant modders would redo the in game arty pieces to make them more realistic (ie recoil and smoke). With this mod it would be brilliant.

    I checked this map out against Googlemaps and I must say you have done a superb job recreating this area of Iraq. Keep up the good work.
  25. Wanted to find out if anyone remembers a script that was done in OFP to allow you to create custom formations and add the link to your action menu. It had a config file where you would create the formation based on positions relative to the squad leaders. I wanted to implement it in to Arma if possible.
