I'm getting constant crashes to desktop, both in singleplayer and multiplayer... Any suggestions?yes. reinstall your operating system. the game is 100% stable on my rig.
got the same thing.while at the anti-tank range, the opfor from the MOUT course came over and shot me in the back, rather than wait until the next part of the mission! -
dude you need a better power supply, this is not enough 4 your graphics card. I can reccomend CORSAIR CMPSU-520HXEU (or 600): http://zasilacze.info/produkty.php?id=641&kategoria_id=243& its really cool and almost noiseless.btw i have 420watts and the 9600gt requires less so..Kyle_K_ski:
download ArmA2 demo once again from here:

Is there a refresh rate thing I can modify? In arma lowering my refresh rate from 75 to 60 made the game a lot smoother at lower frames like 45-60you can force it with RivaTuner: click!

another ArmA2 mouse lag video on Youtube:
I've had this too all the time through Arma1 and just after install Arma2 demo, but I've completely uninstalled my display driver (from add-remove programs and delete driver from windows devices menager), installed 186.18, unchecked that "enhance pointer precision" option and ArmA2 runs like a charm now. I dont know how it happend, I cant help you anymore guys :(

Mr. Centipede: I had this bug too in pilot training, but when i switched choppers the problem was gone.

BongoBoy:
just install Microsoft DirectX9 Redistributable (even if you have DX10 or 11 already installed): http://www.softpedia.com/progDownload/DirectX-9.0c-Redistributable-Download-3545.html
+1Tutorial instructions move too fast. They should wait for the user to acknowledge before moving to the next instructions -
motion blur should be set to "low" by default imho. btw. there is no "turn on engine" option, after pressing "turn off engine" in the vehicle menu.

to everyone with MOUSE LAG issue!!!
first time I launched ArmA2 demo (nvidia display driver v.185.85) I got nasty mouse lag like in ArmA1. then I reinstalled nvidia driver to the nevest one (186.18), disabled "enhance mouse cursor" option in windows control panel: click! and the game runs pretty smooth now! I'm getting 45-52 fps in training mission (where it starts) on erverything (except posteffects and antialiasing) set to very high and mouse lag is gone! :D
my system specs: E8400@4GHz, GF 8800 GTS 512, 2 GB RAM

first time I launched demo (nvidia display driver v.185.85) I got nasty mouse lag like in ArmA1. then I reinstalled nvidia driver to the newest one (186.18), disabled "enhance mouse cursor" option in windows control panel: click! and the game runs pretty smooth now! I'm getting 45-52 fps in training mission (where it starts) on erverything (except postprocessing and antialiasing) set to very high! I need some time to say anything more about the demo, but as far I like it (shooting is much better than in AA3) :D

Am I the only one who's monitors goes to standbuy after a while playing?I think it may be caused by display refresh frequency that your monitor sets when you enter the game. try RivaTuner to set optimal refresh frequency for each resolution: click!

So you read the solution and still rant anyway? Despite the fact the problem isn't the fault of the demo it's simply that you lack a DirectX dll? And it's not a bug.of course. I did it to let developers know more ppl having the problem, as this is a FEEDBACK thread (as you noticed) and problem may be fixed in upcoming hotfix. all my DirectX games works fine btw (Vista has DX10 integrated), so this is a demo issue.
-
More like failure you who cannot read the first post of the Demo release thread......I've read first posts and know the solution, just reporting a bug. And I think your avatar is the greatest failure on this page ;)

"cannot find X3DAudio1_6.dll" :391:
Windows Vista x64, working fine and and 100% up to date (newest DirectX and all system updates). demo awaited for years and postponed many times. FAILURE BOHEMIA. :(

....
+1hello. Like most people here i think the mouse lag is ruinning the game.btw. I've had mouse lag in ArmA1 but in FarCry2 not at all. Have not tried ArmA2 yet, but if the lag still exists I'm not buying the game.

...COD4 graphics are 50x better and i get 80fps in that game, AA3 looks far worse and i only get like 35fps.dude you compare payable, 1 of the best PC games to a free one? You don't fool me :) for me AA3 and CoD4 runs and looks similar. something must be wrong with your system.
-
look and run better at once? hmm interesting. I have to try it :D
-
How about the perfromance ? Is it a big HW hog ? I only trust people who actually played it xDIm getting 50 - 60 fps at Resolution 1600/1200 and everything set to max. my system: C2D E8400 @ 4GHz, GF 8800 GTS 512, 2 GB RAM, Vista x64

btw:
I have to disagree strongly. This was good for 2002 but not mind blowinghttp://itknowledgeexchange.techtarget.com/overheard/files/2007/12/americas-army.jpg
it wasn't the best promotion of the new America's Army ;)

I've been playing AA3 for a while and I have to say the game kicks ass! shooting, atmospherics, sounds, GFX (explosions) are amazing. Graphics as you can see below (antialiasing is off):
-
Bloody amazing... guys good work... now i need to bloody buy it in bloody Poland... which is impossible at the moment....well I have the same problem, hope we will get version 1.02 already.
-
Soon or later will be BattleEye or maybe other surprise :Dsooner or later we'll get ppl with unlimited javelin, raping spawns from 10 kilometers, just like currently in ArmA1 ;)
-
@Max Power
Talk to me in english. If you got any problem, please PM me.
Backing on topic: it will be another hotfix (not a real patch), that don't change version of the game (still 3.0).

How do i check FPS? I look on the keyboard settings and it says press f10 for FPS, but that shows my ms only.just get FRAPS.
and here are some screenies from a shooting range:

lol that was me :D now I wonder if the lag doesn't depend on display refresh rate, cuz now, after reinstalling nvidia driver to 186.18, my monitor works on enhanced refresh rate (65kHz on previous driver, 75kHz after reinstalling). so maybe that fixed my mouse lag in ArmA2 demo... :386:
