Low CPU utilization & Low FPS

You mean Intel is full of sh!t? Yah, that is true as well. Check out this pile, straight from the horses ass: http://www.fudzilla.com/home/item/35774-intel-takes-credit-for-three-way-4k-gaming As the author points out, it's the 4 GPUs that provide the horsepower, not the CPU ;)

Low CPU utilization & Low FPS

Not sure why anyone is surprised by this - the 5960X is not a 'gaming' CPU (That's not to say you can't game on it, it's just not the best choice). Some gamers buy them because they think: Most expensive=best (or they simply like to wave the e-peen while totally ignoring the fact that someone who spent thousands of dollars less than them actually has a faster machine where gaming is concerned). The 4770/4790K are much better choices (both CPU wise and platform wise) if all you are doing is gaming.

    Battlefield 4

ROFLMFAO, just what this game needs - another sniper weapon (and a stupidly overpowered one as an added bonus) /sarcasm off.

    ACCC Is Suing Valve

Yep, I've had nothing but good experiences with Origin but it's very 'du jour' to hate on EA, MS and certain other companies. EA have made a lot of mistakes but I will give them credit for making an effort to improve (and yes, they are improving to facilitate making money but that's business). Valve's 'support' is canned answers that can take in excess of 80 (not a typo) hours to appear and are often not even relevant to the original question so you have to wait another 80 hours for another canned response

    ACCC Is Suing Valve

I don't see how the ACCC can lose as this is an Australian law and Valve is in direct contravention of it. Having said that, and quite unfortunately, Valve has won other cases that one would have expected them to lose based on the interpretation of the current law, and in the given situation. Steam is a fantastic platform, fantastic until you have a problem. I just got through fighting with them for a refund on 'Risen 3' as it did not support over 8 threads (rendering 6 or more cores unable to play the game). To me this represents a game that is not fit for purpose and as much as disabling CPU cores will fix the problem, I have no desire to and should not be required to do that in order to play the game. Nevertheless it took over a week of 'debate' before Steam finally relented and processed the refund. I should note that this problem was apparently patched yesterday but after watching Angry Joe playing it, I'm glad I got the refund before it was patched because it looks dreadful. When EA has a better return/refund policy than you do, you'd best be worried and having used EA's GGG (Great Game Guarantee) on two occasions, I am actually more comfortable buying from Origin than I am from Steam. Unfortunately, Steam behaves like it is the only game in town and it needs to lose this case (and several others should they be brought to bear) in order to reinforce the fact that you cannot just take people's money and then tell them to go fu*k themselves when the product that they've been sold does not work as advertised. This 'Early Access' bollocks is no doubt making them a lot of money, but the lack of vetting is shocking, and Steam is rife with all types of garbage that quite honestly should not be there. If they are going to insist on selling 'games' from any Tom, Dick and Jane they have to offer some sort of recourse, it's as simple as that.

    Battlefield 4

This is typical of 'instant grat' gamers these days, instead of learning how to adapt to adversity, they'd rather just have it removed (we don't want pesky things like contact grenades and mortars to get in the way of 'pwning' after all /sarcasm off) BF4 is fun for what it is was (although when I hear people talk about how 'realistic' it is, I tend to cringe). You really need to be in an organized group that plays against other organized groups to get the most out of it. DICE looks like they are making the fatal mistake of listening to idiot users instead of sticking to their own vision (that never ends well, just ask SWG ;) )

    Battlefield 4

Wow, War is really inconvenient for this LC guy. Militaries everywhere should just remove all the things that 'annoy' him so that it will be 'fairer'.

    ACCC Is Suing Valve

Steam needs a wake up call. Their stubborn refusal to refund under any circumstances is not legal (despite what their f**king subscriber agreement might say) and holding a customer's feet to the fire by threatening to freeze accounts should they attempt a chargeback is also at best dubious, but further I suspect, would crumble under a legal challenge.

    Command: Modern Air Naval Operations

If you like this type of game, you'll take the time. I wouldn't say it's 'hard', just a lot to take in and process. It's well worth it in my opinion.

    Insurgency

Yah, that patch has caused some big problems. My Dedi Coop is crashing all the time :(

Are we at the brink of World War III?

Indeed, the population is constantly being told x are going to attack, x virus will kill you, if you eat x you'll get sick. The population at large is controlled by fear but if you look at history, the vast majority of it is establishment fabricated hysteria. I'd say we have a better chance of Alien Capital ships over our major cities (a la Independence Day) than we do of a 'The Day After' scenario.

    Insurgency

The AKM, for example, has an effective range of 400m, I've never been 'shot from nowhere' in Insurgency - sounds more like you just don't like/aren't used to the fact the enemy engage at realistic ranges (with the obvious exception of the ArmA series). I've always been able to engage them if they are able to engage me (gear selection is very map dependent in Insurgency). Again, just my own experiences with the game. Does CS:GO have better models, yeah it probably does (and a substantially larger budget I would wager), but unrealistic damage, silly ballistic modelling and no iron sights are a deal breaker for me. I prefer a decent attempt at realism over 'purdy' models ;) Of course, to each their own :D

    Insurgency

Shot from nowhere? I think you may be confusing this with being shot through cover (which happens often). Bullets act fairly realistically in Insurgency (reminds me a lot of SWAT 3). The graphics look fine (Source has aged well) and I haven't seen anything that looks like 'ice skating' so not sure what that's about.

Francis gives up!, game industry wins!

It would be funny if it wasn't so f*cking true :(
  16. I did not 'flame' your English skills, I simply commented that you were not comprehending what I had written and this has been proven to a certainty with your last post. I don't debate with people who resort to personal attacks and rudeness so I'll just go ahead and put you on ignore to avoid any more of your unpleasantness. Have a good one :)
  17. UN Declaration, wtf are you on about  Your literacy skills are certainly not up to par (mildly put) as I never bashed Black Foot, I simply said that because other devs have 'killed the goose' as it were, there will always be skepticism surrounding projects that suffer delays, change engines etc. It's your choice to respect someone who has essentially given you nothing but equally, it is certainly not your choice to tell others who they should respect and that is exactly what you were doing in the post I replied to. Finally, try not to resort to puerile name calling as all it does is serve to eviscerate any relevant point(s) you might be trying to make ;)
  18. Absolutely not, I don't owe these guys (or any other dev) an ounce of respect that is not earned through my enjoyment of their released product. Your attitude is the epitome of why we have developers and publishers who behave the way they do. Now, I have no idea whether this game is going to sink or swim but multiple engine changes and delays have a track record of turning out very badly which is why there is going to be skepticism, like it or not. I am not trying to cast aspersions on Blackfoot as they may be the 12 hardest working guys on the planet and their intentions 100% honorable. I certainly hope that Ground Branch turns out to be as good as it sounds on paper, but as always, time will tell.

Are we at the brink of World War III?

Yah, the ME is a tinder box and I'm surprised there hasn't been a larger conflict there before now. We're due for a large scale conflict, there is no doubt about that, but those of you thinking you are going to live out some kind of half assed Metro 2033 fantasy are going to be waiting a long time ;)

Are we at the brink of World War III?

WW3, at least in the sense of Russia and the US lobbing vast quantities of nuclear weapons at each other will likely never happen. The powers that be are far too busy ripping us off (while devising new and more efficient ways to rip us off). They can't do any of that if the world is a radioactive wasteland and they are stuck a kilometer or so under the ground in a bunker. The threat of WW3 is just another act in the perpetual theatre of distraction.

Is it possible to have too many games?

Two words - Steam sale. No doubt the reason that many of us have far too many games (if there is such a thing) ;)
  22. This looks really interesting. There are some videos of early gameplay below: http://survivethenights.net/

    Survive the Nights

Same, the level of interactivity is really unprecedented and that makes for some really deep gameplay opportunities in my book :D
  24. I think many people have invested in SC based on what is being promised rather than what is on offer at present. As I said before, trusting Roberts is a risky proposition based on his track record. Not because I think he is a thief, simply because he promises the moon and fails to deliver. At any rate, time will tell ;)

    Battlefield: Hardline

What always naffs me off about these games is the overabundance of sniper weapons and the overabundance of idiots hip firing them at less than 5 feet. Add to that the Strela/Stinger, Gunships etc and you have anything but a fucking Bank Robbery. I'm not a fan of Payday 2 (well, I like the concept but I really don't like endless respawning) but the game does a much better job of capturing the feel of a movie like 'Heat' for example than BF:HL does. And we won't cover the oft already covered issue of price for what is essentially DLC.
