Many aspects are important for high performance in Arma. So here are the main aspects, in order of importance: 1. Clock speed (the higher the better), minimum 3 GHz, better 3.5 GHz, ideally 4 GHz or higher. Problem is that you want a laptop and even the fastest chips (i5 and i7, scarcely break 3 GHz). 2. IPC = Instructions Per Clock, basically how many instructions the CPU can execute per clock. In short, until Ryzen appears, get an Intel i5, better i7 3. GPU = get a GeForce GTX. 1060 is good, 1070 is better but expensive and 1080 is best but ridiculously expensive 4. RAM = the faster the better, so DDR4-2400 is a minimum, 3000 is better and ideally 3600 or higher 5. SSD = anything recent, at least 128 GB, 256 GB is better, 512 comfy (because Arma + Windows can easily reach 100 GB) So basically don't buy a laptop unless you really need that mobility to because you'll need to spend twice as much as a desktop to get comparable performance, e.g. to play A3 in 1080p @ 60 fps on High settings, on a laptop will cost $1500/€1500 (HP Omen 17w206nf - i7-7700HQ, 16 GB RAM, 1 TB HDD + 128 GB SSD, Geforce GTX 1060) whereas a desktop with similar performance will cost you $800/€800 (i5-7600k, 16GB DDR4-3400, 256 GB SSD, GTX 1060) -

@NeoArmageddon and the rest of the @CUP team: does anyone have any ideas for detecting the CUPS train track objects? Because the author of the Tanao Trains mod that is Under Development was able to use the lineIntersectsWith/lineIntersectsObjs/lineIntersectsSurfaces with the tracks on Tanoa. However, that doesn't seem to work with the CUPS tracks. There are a couple that get detected if the line intersects the metal rail, however, most can't be detected at all with those methods The discussion is taking place here: -

Thanks for the advice. Usually I run TS3 before A3 becausing ALT-tabbing out of A3 is a recipe for disaster. However this time, I ran A3 with ACRE2, without running TS3. I was then greeted with a lovely prompt that informed me that ACRE2 had updated my TS3 plugin. I then quit out of steam, re-run TS3 and then A3. Everything now seems tickety-boo!- 846 replies

I can confirm. This has affected my Steam install for the last week or so. I have tried switching the download location and clearing the download cache but neither of these helps. After 10+ years of satisfaction on Steam, this has dented my confidence. So anyone got any other solutions? -

Actually this AI discussion has re-ignited my interest in this flaw GEM. And that Island War 2017 mod might be catalyst that launches the rocket. So does anyone know if: a) that Island War mod is compatible with the coop campaign? b) if any of the expansions support coop? c) is coop still possible? i.e. without passing via codemasters MP servers?

Warning: ACRE2 Version 2.4.0.942 (13-Feb) appears to be incompatible with TeamSpeak 3.1.1 (10-Feb). So if you want to use the latest ACRE2, do not upgrade your TS 3.1.0.1 to 3.1.1.- 846 replies

No. In fact, very few A3 mods are incompatible with 64-bit. e.g. among the 30+ mods I have only found 3: STHUD, ACE3 & ACRE2. ACRE2 released a 64-bit EXE yesterday -

AFAIK ACE3 is 32-bit only. Last week BI made 64-bit the default EXE on the RC branch. So I think it's likely that BI soon make 64-bit the default EXE on the stable Branch. Does ACE3 have any plans to support 64-bit? -

Since RC 1.68, this mod prevents any mission from loading. What is strange is that A3 loads fine. The briefing loads fine. But when I start the mission the game just hangs (black screen indefinitely). Only a 3-fingered salute (Ctrl+Alt+Del) and killing the Arma3.exe process via Task Managers resolves the situation. Anyone else experiencing this issue? BTW this only occurs with the 64-bit version (STHUD runs fine with 32-bit version). -

I agree that a tapping the community for a consensus on such a sensitive topic would be a wise move. As a start, how is this handled in other PC games? Bear in mind that there were several types of camps detention/internment/POW: a prison, usually open-air but which often had running-water and electricity. Sometimes "unruly" prisoners would be deported to a concentration camp. Whereas "undersirables" were deported to extermination camps. concentration: a prison, usually open-air but which lack both running-water and electricity. Sometimes they even lacked latrines. extermination/death: a death camp where prisoners where deliberately worked, starved, shot or gassed to death But the type of camp varied from country to country: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_concentration_and_internment_camps Also, is the map from this mod limited to northern France? Because AFAIK, France only had detention camps + 1 concentration camp AFAIK the only extermination camps were in east Germany and Poland. -
