Seriously, it´s not really a big deal for a normally constitutioned soldier to swim a few hundred metres in full combat dress. But usually "Floating packs" are build.

The tent is used as covering and wrapping material, stuffed with dry sticks, hay, paper or whatever is available gives it the necessary bulkiness and floating properties. Now the Rucksack, boots, load bearing harness and other equipment is wrapped with the tent and floating material inlay, the weapon is secured on top of the package. Although all this stuff weights more than 25kg (more than 30kg for heavy equipment as MG/AT) it floats if done correctly and can also be used as swimming aid, enabling one to swim for a couple   hours if it should become necessary.<span id='postcolor'>

    It sure do works smile.gifsmile.gif

Crossed a small river in november like that (damn it was cold) But every thing floats when packed corectly.

  4. Im looking for something that will work like this.

    1. When radio command is given a group that isnt in your control will move into position 5 m in front of you

    2. When radio command is given unit that isnt in your control will move into position 20m behind you

    3. When radio command is given a APC (not in your group) with infantry will move 20m in front of you and and unload troops and then move 20m more on foot in "combat" behaviour

    4. When radio command is given the people in 3. will return to the APC and return to position 20 m behind you.

    5. When radio command is given two groups will move 5m in front of you in "combat" behavior.

All will be used to simulate how a recon platoon can work where different commands is for this.

    1. Make tanks move to your position to give you cover when you are moving forward. (you are in a jeep w. MG)

    2. Make a mechanized infantry squad move in to posittion 20m behind you.

    3. Make the infantry squad get out and start run towards a possible strong hold.

    4. Make them return to APC.

    5. Make both APC and tanks join you in battle.

Hope anyone can help me confused.gif

You can try and you'll see. Tell me if it's easy.  smile.gif<span id='postcolor'>

Well as part of my military training i did a 150m swim with uniform, boots, battleharness (2 ammobags, 1 waterflask and 2 utillity bags) and weapon. And guess what no one in the entire company drowned tounge.gif

Not only that, for the people that use joysticks and stuff while flying, if the player turns on freelook, then let them use the mouse to look around the cockpit while they control the plane or something with the joystick.<span id='postcolor'>

When you fly as a pilot press * on the numlock pad and you can use the mouse to look around both inside the cockpit and out the windows. But you cant look straight. But enough to cover what you need to see i would think.

About the AP mines though. Well AP mines were a key factor in WW wars but now that philisophy has changed. Armies are becoming more mobile now with massive armoured mobilazation. The philosophy nowdays is all around AT mines to prevent armoured units to reach a certain area and without them infantry can be butchered. I watched this in a military program in my country. AP are also about to be phased out.<span id='postcolor'>

I would say that ap mines still play a major role in wars now a days. Look at Bosnia, Kosovo, iraq/kuwait..........

These places are filled with ap mines that are taking a lot of work to remove and these are conflicts fought in the last 10 15 years.

And they arent really being phased out theres work on a agreement on not using them. But a lot of countries are against that because its such a great defensive weapon. And those that agree still have them under others names.

A humvee isnt armored at all infact. It was made to be light enough to be airlifted by very light weight choppers. it wasnt meant to be an armored car.

Aside from that, they preform just about the same.<span id='postcolor'>

Well you are wrong there the hummer also comes in a armored version. Look at these to pictures upper is normal, lower is armored.

    M1114.jpg

But its only the passenger cabin thats armored nothing else

  12. Yes the earlier CG was also a nato weapon. Its really kinda the same weapon. Its just weights alot less. think the tube is made from some sort composite materielle where it before was all steel. Also on the newer version there are coating that will lower the thermal glow from it after it have been fired. Carried them both and would say weight differens is about 3 to 4 kilo

    grenadiers:

explosions and fear would double up in the battlefield

    heavy grenadier:

    more shrapnel aroun

    AT

but a support soldier would jus be apocalipse for tanks<span id='postcolor'>

    What can i say hmmmmm

thats war in real life smile.gif  smile.gif

    And example:

I have been in two Recon platoons, one light and one armored.

Weapon load out was like this for a section = 6 men

    Light:

2 MG 200 shots loaded and bag with 200 more and around 500 more on each car

4 Rifles 6 loaded mags each and 200/300 shots more on each car

2 pistols with 3 mags each

    20 handgrenades

    2 AT4

1 Carl Gustav with 8/10 shots

    05032002_GHR-paa-patrulje.jpg

    Armored:

2 fixed MG with 250 loaded and 500 more in car

2 MG 200 shots loaded and bag with 200 more and around 500 more on each car

6 Rifles 6 loaded mags each and 200/300 shots more on each car

2 pistols with 3 mags each

    20 handgrenades

    2 AT4

1 Carl Gustav with 8/10 shots

    eagle.JPG

And thats for only 6 men  smile.gif  smile.gif

Then to look at the whole platoon it was like this:

    Light:

    2 scout sections as above

    1 m113 infantry

    1 m113 mortar

    2 leopard 1A5

Then also a mc and a platoon leader jeep

    Armored:

    3 scout platoons as above

    And a platoon leader vehicle

As you can see we could do some serious damage biggrin.gifbiggrin.gifbiggrin.gifbiggrin.gif

The AT-4 it self is sized about a backpack, and weights about 30 kg. Missiles for it are man-sized, and weights 25kg each. (It is loaded by replacing entire upper part of launcher, wich may be seen outside BMP-2 (the tube on the top of tower))

    Im not sure but,

For as I know LAW can't be reloaded in a field... (Correct me if Im wrong...)<span id='postcolor'>

I know how the real thing looks like and its not the one being simulated in the game. Thats more like the Carl Gustav on Nato side. Thats also why i wrote AT soldier and not Carl Gustav/ AT4.

Secondly I know the law cant be reload and it also dint write about it in the post. Only talked about the AT soldiers on all sides.

But if you asked me i would say that it shouldnt be reloadable but be a throw away item that the basic soldier should have one of. The same with the rpg

  15. For me it seems that some of the loadout in game is a bit unrealistic in way that some people have less than what i know/think a real life soldier would have. so here is what i think would make more realistic load outs.

    1. Grenadier (all sides)

In game the grenadiers ammo take out two ammo slots in the gear view while a handgrenade that are around the same size in real life only takes up one. Also in real life a soldier with a grenadelauncher would have 8+ grenades. So i would like to see grenades as a one slot ammo piece there by giving the grenadier 6 grenades instead of 3.

    2. Heavy Grenadier (West)

In game you have one magazine with 12 grenades. That one magazine takes out 8 ammo slot, while if you wanna compare it to something same size as the drum of the grenadelauncher, a engineers AT mine only takes out 2 slots. But you dont really change drum only put in new grenades, and i know there are ammunitions vests that can hold 24 grenades. So i think it should be changed to 4 ammo slot piece so a heavy grenadier would have 2 x 12 grenades

    3. Heavy Grenadier (East)

Same as above but here it is a 6 grenade mag taking out 4 slots. This should be changed to a 2 slots ammo piece so the East grenadier also would have 24 grenades just in a 4x6 configuration.

    4. Hunter

The hunter only have 10 shots then hes out of ammo. And that ammo isnt bigger than a finger in real life. I know for my self if i was going to a fight/war with a hunting rifle i wouldnt just bring 10 shot biggrin.gif . So would it be possible to make each ammo slot have 5 shots and still having to reload after each shot?? So total would be 50 shots in all.

    5. AT Soldier ( all sides)

The AT soldier only have 1 shot taking out 6 ammo slots. I know (been one myself) that AT soldiers normally have a bagpack or a cannister with two shots with him and a helper with two or four shot more. Also there are different kinds of ammo to these kind of weapons. So here is what i suggest.

    - Ammo is made from 6 slots to 3 slots so a AT soldier have two shots.

    - Make 4 kind of ammo.

HEAT (the one thats in the game today)

HE ( for use against infantry)

    Smoke

    Illumination

Make Heat as normal configuration but let people choose when making missions.

    - Make a new class man AT support. Load out would be the same a AT soldier just without the AT gun and would make a popup line saying Get xxx ammo when you get close to him just like when you get close to a medic and it says heal at medic.

So thats what i think. What do you think smile.gifsmile.gif

Also would be glad to hear what BIS think about this
