    It isnt possible to fire the mg3 from the shoulder but from the hip IMHO

    I let a friend of mine who gave MG3-training for NCOs hear a lot of samples and he disliked the DoD-sound too and was pro the sound which is in game now.<span id='postcolor'>

    Guess you didnt wear any ear proctection then since you cant hear that your choice its totallly off  tounge.gif  tounge.gif

    Not to affend you or anything but i just listened too it again but the sound you picked sounds like a plane gun from a 2nd grade plane sim

    About the sound one can argue, I find it better than all the other sounds as the one from the fortress pack is the one from Dod which is in mine opinion totally wrong.

    We put a soundsample of a real MG3/42 firing on our hp.

    Thats like it should sound...and thats quite close to our sound.

    Hmmm try looking at the pictures i put in and you will see that the lever is about 5cm out from the weapon and you can hardly see it on yours.

    For the sound. I can only guess you havent heard it real life or even fired it because the sound from DoD is how it sounds real life. And how do i know. Well i have shot a around 10-15.000 rounds with it  tounge.gif and would think that everyone that have shot or heard it would agree with me.

    Hmmm i can name a few that can biggrin.gif

    -M60E (Special version with front handle)

    -FN minimi / SAW (tried it and was hitting targets easy)

    Also would think that all modern day 5.56mm MG/LMG can be shot from a shoulder posistion.

    Also would think it would be possible to shot standing with the MG3 if it wasnt so damn heavy (11.5kg) and long (1.22m) biggrin.gifbiggrin.gif


  4. Great model looks really cool. But found some things to look at.

    -You just forgot one part or made it to small. on the right side of the weapon theres a handle i dont know the name of it. Its used to load the first cartridge into the chamber. I cant see if thats the thing you have one the model really close to the box mag. or if its just a part of the box mag. If it is it should be a little bigger and more out from the weapon.

    You can see it here on the left side of the picture

    Also look here to see size of it is the part on the right side in the middle

    -Also the sound is totally wrong. Not even close to how it sound real life. The sound thats on the MG3 from Fortress-ofp's MG pack is the real life sound.

    -And last you forgot ammo name on the ingame ammo counter.

    -About the recoil maybe lower it a bit. Because the way it is now it also makes it to hard to hit when lying down and in real life its very effective when lying down.

    What happend to the field gun??

    What i was thinking was only the rate off fire going to the weapon selection not the change between AP/HE that should still be from the pop up menu. As it is now you need to do 3-5 clicks to change rate of fire. 1. to get menu up 3-5. to scroll down to the selected Rate of fire. And would think that the button he has to press in real life is located on his flight stick and with a big chance its the same button that he uses to change weapons biggrin.gif.  But it was just a surgestion  smile.gif

  6. Hi i just tested your hokums and found two things/bugs to improve/correct.

    - B-8V20A Rockets fires from the AT misile tubes, but also does that on the V-80 so dont know if thats something you can correct.

    - About the Canon's RPM. I dont know if its possible with two kinds of ammo, but if you take a look at the Minimis from the taiwan workshop. They have two firerates under the weapon selection and it uses the same ammo pool. Meaning that you start with 1000rpm and when you press weapon selection (single, burst thing) it changes to 700rpm but still uses the same mag. If you dont have the pbo or cant find it give me a tell and ill send it to you so you can look at the cpp file.

    Great work with the paintjobs, sound and the load outs.


  7. I was playing around ingame and a question popped up. On choppers and planes with rocket pods it fires left-right-left-right. But if you look at shilka and player made models like the m109 Adats you only have gun fire from one barrel. Cant the config from the rocket pods be put in to the machinegun config so you will have the same kind of shot effect??


  8. There once where talk about making a rule set for addons, but i dont think it was ever put to life. After some of the last couple of post where people are afraid that there will be alot crap addons coming out when the O2 tool is released (and yes i know theres no date yet but this is something that could be put to use now) and sites talking about they will make rules for the addons posted on there sites, i think it would be a good idea to make a joint set of rules for addons, where the addon will get some kind of aprove mark to it, so people will know that it follow this set of rules. This will ensure that modmakers have a quality standard to aim at and that the community will get a better addons.

    So who should decide what the rules are?? From reading some of the post it seems there already is some kind of rule set on the breathe forums but since i havent seen it i cant tell. But if i where to choose i would say people like Kegetys, Fliper (though it seems he is leaving the community) and the guys from Ballistic Addon Studio's who have shown that they stand for quality.

    What should the rule set cover?? I would say all that is possible to cover. From previous post there where talk about:

    -How many LODS there should be(Cant remember if it the right word, but the post with the info was deleted by mistake by Denoir tounge.gif  )

    -Max polycount for the different kind of vehicles

    Believe there where more but cant remember or see if there where more there (again thx to Denoir biggrin.gif ), but would also see things like this to even addons

    - Damage ratio by caliber.

    Should be made a list of calibers being used and what damage it should do.

    Example  7.62x51mm Nato = X damage

                   7.62x39mm = X damage

    - Damage/health in vehicles/men.

    Should be made a list with a armour thickness (real life) to Damage/health ingame where also the size of the vehicle should have something to say. And maybe start this from the original models not to make them over/under powered. Also mentioned men if people decides to make player models with visible Fragmentation vests/bulletproof vests.

    - Vehicle Speed

    Also something with a RL speed to game speed.

    Hmmm cant up with more right now but feel free to add more and pls dont get this post moved because of chit chat that can be done else where.

    Maybe make it a sticky post??

    I dont think the idea that making a board where only some can post and others read will work. The board there is now should be made read only for all and then there should be a new board for posts.

    Since basicly the thing that the only poster would post would propely be the same things (in time) that would be posted on the other board. This isnt just a show off board like the addons board is more like a technical board, at least that what i think it would be. And it would only make a divided ofp community where theres a group (that have the knowledge now) that would only post on one board to keep from answering question that will help others (this is based on the attitude given from modmakers in the deleted post). This resulting in very few people to get help from and the "new" modmakers having, as some say it, to reinvent the wheel.

    Secondly. I wouldnt say selected  like you where someone special. You where lucky to be one of the few that where granted. Lots of people asked an where turned down even though they had great projects with models and others stuff ready.

    Third. Your "job" by having the beta is/where to test it and make it ready for the puplic to recieve it.

    I think it is important to let people know that there is nothing magical about O2, don't get your hopes up about being able to do everything with this one program. It's hard to learn and use, documention is non-existant and there are many restrictions on what you can edit and do. Having said that, it's great that BIS are releasing it to everyone and I'm all for removing the "Elite" perception of those already granted O2. Sharing information is what fan sites are all about and I intend to do that fully back on the OFPEC forums.

    well I love the fact that people are making national mods, especally from thier own country, but the problem I see with this is that some mod maker might make thier soldier have that extra "edge" to give them an advantage over another army. I feel that mod makers should start a pact, so that everything is real world and equal. I say all this because the german army mod soldiers have an exceptional advantage over any other army, they instantly kill off any other squad and thier tank is super powerful, I know that its a beta but I just hope people in the future dont do it intentionaly. now did all that make sense? I hope so    <span id='postcolor'>

    There once where a project that wanted to make general rules for unofficial addons on how much damage the different weapon calibers should do, so the addons would be evenly matched. Dont know if it was ever put into life and where to find it. But the idea is great.

    Well the BRDM is under the armoured class and it has wheels

  15. Just checked up on creatives homepage yesterday and saw theres where a fairly new driver. So i downloaded it and have played around 5 to 6 hours with it and havent had the sound problem (that loud scratching noise thing) since.

    hmm strange the link to the danish mod works, most have been a temp. error. But anyways it its in the planning phase nothing to show yet.

    For the swedish part i havent seen anything yet but the real life uniform looks kinda funny but should work really well in the swedish climate
