How about decent Soviet troops? Those were more than worthy opponents. And they are not as hard to model as the German troops were considering they have less equipment.

My Dads friend Serguei had a brother who was in the Vosdushniye Sile, or Airborne forces.  Serguei's brother was assigned with his battalion size task force to some country in lower Russian like Uzbekistan or Tajikistan, dont remember which but it was after the CCCP collapsed, and this battalion was sent to clean up a base for troops that would be following. After being dropped off the men set to work..... It was pretty much done and a general and one of his staff came for inspection. After taking a quick tour around the base followed up by a traditional welcome with zakuski and vokda the general decided he wanted to go hunting.  Now let me tell you, in this region there are a lot of wild boars or small beasts of that stature or something of that sort. Now the general and his aide grabbed two AK-74, a box of ammo, rations, radio, and some vodka ( of course) and jumped into their gazik. They left the base promising to come back in a day.  Well a day passed, the troops thought they decided to stay the night and camp out. Another day passed...the personal got worried as there was no word of them, no radio contact, nothing.... the personal sent a small helecopter an MI-8? to scout for them, nothing. Well on the third day, a team of specialist set out in their apc's and found the empty gazik, about 5 kilometers east, they found a campfire and empty vodka bottles. On the next hill they found 130 boar corpes, with about 100 strewn around an uprooted tree, shell casings and human remains strewn for 50 meters in every direction.  It turns out that, the General and his aide decided to camp for the night, in the morning the drank and apparently had a bit too much. They spotted a herd or group of boars and decided to open fire, well apparently when they were firing the hit the young ones, these boars let out cries and rallied  to the defense of the remaining herd, well the General and his aide were chased up a tree and started to fire down which enraged the animals even more. The guys firing down ran out of ammo and the animals dug the tree up with there tusks, now this wasn't a small tree. It was a big pine. The tree was completely pushed over and the roots were all torn up. The boars mauled the General and his aide to death. Unfortuantly when the tree came down the aide was trapped underneath it, poor bastard... was takin apart by the beasts.  Pretty wild egh? Anyway the moral of this is, no matter how advanced we humans think we are and no matter how good our weaponry is, mother nature always manages to kick us one in the ass at the end.

now if only we could get some WW2 Soviet/Russian infantry to use those weapons...... (hint, hint, wink, wink ,nudge, nudge, say no more! say no more! Please guys we got the main weapons now please please texture some WW2 era soviet soldiers to go with them.

why not make it a vehicle you just get into? Make the rebreather act like a boat and the guy just get in as a driver. I dont know but it's just a possibility. If this does work, it would be one of the most important addons in ofp.

why not just add the folding stock and unfold it? it would'nt have to be huge and it would fit the hands. edit = lol evis you beat me by one second.

so maybe a pack of the aformentioned? To tell you the truth I think we need Russian Federation infantry models above all else for the east just to be on par with the HK pack. I would like to see some antiquated left over soviet technology for the resistance also. One thing that would be nice to go along with the antonev cargo plane is a paratroopers model. Just my take on the subject. I know that modeling is hard but soldier models would be very appreciated to go along with some of the new maps coming out like Winter Nogeyev.

Well the topic says which east things do you want so I am going to suggest a degterev machine gun - it is old, was used in world war two but it is still around and is quite a weapon. The resistance would use it mostly since outdated. Many were produced during the Great Patriotic war and are in use around the world. I imagine the resistance wouldnt have too much trouble aquiring this one. I would like to see something like the HK pack for the Russians. In those terms I mean like the player models using Uces texture but having better modeled soldiers. Also I would like to see some guys in Winter and in Summer uniforms; winter - ushanka + greatcoat and summer - pilotka and light tunic. Just some player models is what I am asking.

Thanks for making a great winter map Kegetys but I have a problem. Apparantly I downloaded your map with the first version but the thing is that I have a 56k and do not really want to redownload the whole thing just to get the snow and lights. I have a good computer so all the other stuff like snowy grounds in forests doesnt matter to me but I would really like to make it snow. Would you please release the scripts as a seperate pbo? If any one could mirror Walkers russian weapons pack v 1.2 it would be very helpful. So I was wondering if some of the weapons had been made why not the skins? I am not good myself but if some one could do it, it would really be awesome. Â Also the pack includes a flare pistol and simonov rifle. It is worth download but textures are not that great.

What is interesting is if you use the height script and the break dancing, the guy looks like he is doing aerial acrobatics. Its very cool looking, try it out.

I have a problem with the new patch, do you guys get an error whenever you type more than one thing in the ** box, forget what it is called but the game gives me an error saying that I need to use ) or something like that. heres the code I am running this dotarget man, this setcombatmode "blue" When I do this the game wont take it. Worked fine in patch 1.75 but 1.85 screwed it a bit. You guys have troubles or suggestions? --------------

Tovarish, dont forget the subway bombing on August 9th 2002 in Moskva. This was apparantly also a terrorist attack but I ll leave it up to you guys to debate about, the sad fact is that it happaned while I was riding to my fathers apartment from the airport. damn really put things in perspective for me. I mean I or my Family could been walking along there and this wasnt America anymore, I didnt feel safe. Anyway whenever my 18th birthday comes I am going to enlist in the Russian Army, (tradition) as stupid as that sounds to some it is something I ve always wanted to do. My cousin is serving under Leningrad right now so I will probably join him but its nice to see some people who have recovered from the cold war mentality of seeing Russians as the bad guy's. I see a lot of ignorance in my school about it and it pisses me off so much but I am probably the biggest hypocrite for saying that as I am ignorant of many other things.
