I don’t understand why it is like this. But for example I have an ADR with 60 bullets, I load 50 bullets into the mag. I still have 60 bullets, but only 10 of those are spare and therefore in my backpack. If I leave without shooting a single bullet, I should have 60 bullets still. What happens instead is it eats the 50 bullets that was in the mag and just gives me the 10.
